Moving UK -> US: Has anyone survived a KYC / Income audit using US payslips? Or is closure inevitable?

Hey everyone,
I’ve been a UK Amex member for a decade now. I recently relocated permanently from the UK to New York.

Amex UK has just flagged my account for a periodic review, asking me to submit:

  1. Proof of income
  2. Proof of address (dated within the last 3 months)

I’ve already done a Global Transfer and got approved for a U.S. Amex card (so thankfully my "Member Since 2016" history is secure on the U.S. side). I also have a U.S. Amex Platinum card as an authorized user under my sister's account.

However, I really want to keep my UK Platinum card active because I have several active UK supplementary cards on it. They spend heavily and bring a massive amount of Membership Rewards points to the table. I don't want to lose this stream of points if I can avoid it.

Here’s my dilemma:
I can easily provide a UK bank statement showing a UK address for the address check.

But for proof of income, the only active income docs I have now are my New York payslips.

If I submit my NY payslip, is the compliance team going to immediately catch the residency mismatch and shut down the UK account?

Has anyone successfully kept their UK card open while residing in the US under this kind of audit, or is it a lost cause?

If it's going to trigger an automatic closure, I'd rather just voluntarily close the UK card myself to keep my profile in good standing.

Appreciate any advice or similar experiences!
