Remember the "Together" watch face from early Android Wear? I spent the last few months rebuilding it for modern Wear OS — looking for testers 💛

Back in 2014, Android Wear shipped a little gem called the Together watch face. You'd pair it with one other person — your partner, a close friend — and you could doodle, send an emoji, a sticker, or a quick note straight to each other's wrist. Two people, one shared watch face. It was simple and weirdly intimate.

Then in 2016 Google quietly killed it (https://www.pcmag.com/news/google-says-goodbye-to-android-wears-together-watch-face), and it's still referenced in old support docs like this (https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1013732/)). I always missed it, and nothing really replaced it.

So over the past few months I rebuilt it from scratch for modern Wear OS (and Android phones) and working on getting it cross-platform with Garmin and IOS. It's called Together again:

- ✏️ Draw a little doodle, 📷 send a photo, or 💬 send text/emoji — from your watch or phone.

- It shows up instantly as the other person's watch face background + on their phone.

- Works for couples or small groups, with a cute streak counter and a quick-reply tile.

- Custom Watch Face Format face with configurable complications.

I'd love some testers to help me shake out bugs before a wider release.

Closed beta — join in:

  1. Join the testers group (needs a Google account): https://groups.google.com/g/together-testers
  2. Then opt in with same google account:

- 📱 Phone app: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/io.together

- ⌚ Watch face: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/io.together.watchface

You'll need a paired Wear OS watch + Android phone to get the full experience. Feedback, bug reports, all very welcome. 🙏

Testers needed for a new Bezel-based 2FA app (RotarySafe)

I turned my watch bezel into a physical combination lock for 2FA codes — looking for closed beta testers

So I had this idea: what if your smartwatch bezel worked like a safe dial? Twist it a specific sequence, and your TOTP codes unlock. Twist it wrong three times and the vault hard-locks until you clear it from your phone with biometrics.

That's RotarySafe. It's a Wear OS authenticator where the bezel is the key — four steps, each a number of clockwise or counter-clockwise clicks. No combination, no codes. The watch face shows nothing until you nail the sequence.

It's in closed testing now and I need people willing to actually use it day-to-day and tell me what breaks. A few things that might interest this crowd:

  • Works with any TOTP account (Google, GitHub, whatever)
  • Completely offline — no internet permission, zero network calls
  • Imports from Google Authenticator
  • Encrypted local backup with Argon2id
  • The bezel animation is genuinely satisfying

To join:

  1. Join the testing group → https://groups.google.com/g/rotarysafe_closedtesting
  2. Accept the tester invite → https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.luly.rotarysafe
  3. Install → https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.luly.rotarysafe

On the "Become a Tester" page, click the link that says "Download it on Google Play."When you click to "buy" it, Google will show a message: "Test card: Always approves" or "You will not be charged."This meaning 0 cost for you now and after the testing, by the group membership.

Happy to answer questions about how it works. Fair warning: it requires a Wear OS watch — the bezel IS the security layer, so there's no phone-only mode.
