New look at the Haunted Dark Ride Management Sim I'm building with GDevelop!

Hey everyone,

I'd love to share the latest gameplay for the game I'm currently building in GDevelop.

It's a pixel-art management sim where you design and operate your own haunted house dark ride. I've actually never created a game before, and am truly happy with how inituitive it is to use GDevelop and create a game that's entirely what I envisioned.

I'm currently working very hard to get a demo ready for Halloween season. If you like, you can find more info and screenshots on the Steam page:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4480080/Scream_Operator_Haunted_House_Manager/

I've had lovely conversations with fellow GDevelopers in the past regarding the lightning and mechanics of this game, and I've had more than a fair share of help too. If there's anything you'd like to discuss, or any feedback, please feel free to hit me up here, or on discord!

Can you survive this strange world?

Unsound Love originally began as a fairly classic soulslike, featuring dodge rolls, combat systems, stamina, traps, and boss battles. However, after creating our first intern demo, we decided to remove many of these elements in order to explore other aspects of the soulslike genre that we personally love. As a result, the game feel more like blend of Outer Wilds and Little Nightmares.

We’ve heard from a few people that it reminds them of the very first Zelda games, which is probably because the game used to be a Souls-like.

Some of my pixel art sprite animations

I originally started out with the car, and then I slowly started making sprites, these are roughly 40x60 in size and are all made inside procreate,

The idea behind was to showcase a character without adding a lot of detailing, usually people don’t recognise these 😅

But for reference
The red background one is - Dexter (tv show one)
The background less one is the deep (from the boys)
The blue one is Michael Scott (prisoner Mike) (the office series )

And the purple one is Neferpitou from this anime hxh

I have made many more sprites and these are the ones I really like,

Also the animation is just 2 frames switching at a 1 second interval (I mean anyone can tell already)

I'm trying to make a platformer where you can "ACT" like in UT/DR. What do you think?

I've always loved the idea of resolving conflicts without fighting, so I've been working on a system where you can Joke, Flatter, or Persuade enemies instead of just jumping on their heads.

The main character is a skeleton named Bon who falls into a "civilized" World of Darkness. Just wanted to show how the interaction system is coming along!
