Dropped a very low key Animorph reference in another sub, had a good time. Would you have got the reference?

Look what I found for $1!

I have all the books on my Kindle, and for the most part I don’t care about owning physical copies. But I saw this at the library bookstore and wow, the cover looks so much cooler in person! I love the artwork. I didn’t know any of them came in hardcover. Also please no spoilers, I still have like 10 books to go before I get to this one lol.

Just got a fresh tattoo of the whole crew

They’re lined up in the same order as the book narrators. It starts with Jake, then Rachel, then Tobias, and continues like that.

Book 29, The Sickness

Read up till around book 20 as a kid, now doing a full readthrough and omg Cassie morphed a WHAT?!

This is the most shocked I've been thus far, yeah the Elfangor/Tobias thing was kind of a twist but can't say it was a huge surprise to me, it was the (il)logical conclusion to Elfangor encountering humans in the first place. Aldrea was the same, it was fairly predictable she would become a nothlit.

But this, this is so genius and so wild at the same time, Marco would have gone clinically insane if he was there when the plan was made (and Ax would have submitted a formal complaint)

Did Rachel Perform the Frolis Maneuver?

At the end of 32: The Separation, where Nice Rachel and Mean Rachel simultaneously acquire and morph each other to turn back into Whole Rachel. My personal headcanon is struggling to resolve how this is not structurally close enough to be considered at least a deviation of the Frolis Maneuver, if not straight up quantum theory (the two bodies/personalities entering into a mutual superposition). Multiple DNA samples are collected and even though they are not different, they are fused together, producing a single entity or morph as a result.

ps: I'm aware it's just a narrative choice to tell the story but the parallels are there

pss fun fact: >!Rachel gets acquired 5 times! Once by Ax, once by Cassie and once by Elena, the blind girl from book 50. Rachel also acquires herself twice, beating Tobias' previously held record of acquiring himself ... well, once 🤣!<

Why don't they just escape?

After the Yeerks gain the morphing cube and all the humans become morph-capable, couldn't the humans just morph and escape? Am I missing something?

Book 34 - Too much lore dump? I'm a little lost

Hello!

I'll start by saying this is my first time ever reading the series, so please avoid spoilers for me! And apologies for my English, it's not my mother language.

I'm starting the book 34 and I'm just a few chapters in. It's from Cassie's POV and it starts with the free hork bajir asking for help. There's this guy, Am (or Arn, the pdf editions mess words a lot lol) that says his species was the one who created the hork bajir. Cassie makes a small summary of that, and so I caught it up quickly, but it sounds like something they're summarizing because it was mentioned before. Though I don't recall any of that?? Is it from a book like the megamorphs or something? I'm just reading the main series and had read somewhere that I wouldn't have trouble following the story if I left other series for later.

And they also mention Seerow's daughter. I remember who Seerow was, from the law Ax mentioned in his first POV book, but I am curious whether this is the first time they mention his daughter or not.

Compared to other books, this was too much info all of a sudden in such few pages that it took me a bit by surprise haha just wanted a little clarification regarding those points.

Anything Animorphs related to look out for Traveling to Japan?

In October I’ll be traveling to Japan (doing the usual tokyo-Kyoto-Osaka route) for the first time in my life and I thought about asking if there’s anything I might look out for animorphs related stuff while traveling there. I don’t know: Japanese editions book (the Vietnamese ones would be so cool to have), some obscure vintage merch, basically anything that a animorphs fan here on this reddit might have already found while traveling there, and where to find it. Also Does anyone know any good toys or book store in tokyo-Kyoto-Osaka?

Animorphs nails art!

Hello all, I know this is a bit of a different post on this sub but I am planning on doing animorphs themed nails and wanted to know if anyone has any ideas or suggestions. I’ve already come up with one design but I’m not totally set on it yet. Thank you in advance I look forward to hearing your ideas! Credit to u/Proud_Apocalypse for the designs of the animals.

Dumb things I noticed watching the 90s TV series.

I've been rewatching the TV series with my niece who has read the books but not seen the show.

Some things I've noticed that are just silly or plain dumb. I haven't got to the end yet so I will likely find more things to add.

In one episode Rachel is spotted as human using a computer by a Controller, who is watching security cameras. He only sees the back of her head.

He goes to find her in the room and shes morphed to Lion. That means, she morphed ON CAMERA.

The scene with Ax and Visser Three "fighting" has them basically arm wrestling. No tail blades used at all.

Controllers are pretty much identified by them scratching their ears.

They are always not in morph!!!!! I get it, the budget is pretty low but come on. Running around as human all the time??

Ax is captured by controllers to make a trap for the others. He is captured in like 2 seconds by a group of human controllers. No fighting or anything. He doesn't hear or see them creeping up on him.

A net falls from a tree and captures Jake, Marco, Rachel and Cassie. Could they not just... reach the end of net and escape??

The Ellimist allows Rachel to have a knife and she cuts a hole to get out.... basically at the edge of the net???

My biggest fear about the series is that they’ll change the ending

After all, it is Disney. I have a feeling the executives won’t be fans of a cliffhanger ending where one of the characters dies.

I need the new cover arts for the whole series but they lack the flip art.

Love the new "action morphing" arts but the new books dont have the flip arts. They definitely should redo them. Rachel, the acrobat, flipping or tumbling into a cat would've been perfect. Plus that was half the fun of getting them as a kid.

Ps: hehe can someone comm me to draw hork bajir sometime? >:) they’re my fav speculative alien species ever. Well that and sangheili haha :p
