i am planning to join hostel if i get ceg..i have few questions:

1. do they allot hostel rooms to students from chennai as well? i have heard that students from other districts are given priority and chennai students get rooms only if there are vacancies.. is that true?

2. when and where should i apply for the hostel? is it completely online?

3. how many students usually share a room

4. is there a laundry facility

5. in time and out time rules?

6. can i go home every weekend if i want to?

7. how much would it cost including everything like food, room rent, electricity charges etc..

8. do the rooms have attached bathrooms or are there common bathrooms?

9. are the hostel wifi and internet available 24/7? are there any restrictions on using mobiles/laptops after a certain time?

10. i am a self learner and without youtube and other apps i am sure that i cannot survive there..are we allowed to study late at night or do the lights have to be turned off at a fixed time?

11. is there a separate study room thats open at night?

I have a tnea rank that gives me a realistic chance of getting either ceg IT or mit CSE SS .. I'm trying to decide which one would be the better choice.. Which would you recommend and why? .. if you are student or alumnus from either department ,i would really appreciate hearing about your experience.

I was going through the recent CEG hostel admission circular for PG students, and it says we need to bring:

1. Student Admit Copy
2. Triplicate Copy
3. Fee Receipt

I'm a bit confused about what exactly these documents are and where to get them.

• Is the Student Admit Copy downloaded from the HostelConnect portal?
• What is the Triplicate Copy? Is it generated after paying the hostel fee?

If anyone has completed the hostel admission process this year or in previous years, could you please explain where to download these documents and whether they need to be printed in color or black and white?

I have some doubts abt anna university since it's one of my options ( 199 cutoff cbse ) so would be really grateful if any seniors or alumni help me out on this

1. is the teaching situation as bad as people say ? In the sense that everything needs to be self learnt

2. how are the exams over there ? I heard it heavily focuses on theory (80-20) and there are like 9 papers per semester is that true ? How hard is it to maintain a good cgpa ?

3. I heard that the placements were quite bad for cs last year, is that true ? ( I can't find any data online abt placemnets so would be nice if anyone can tell me exactly how it is )

4. how is the college life and events like fests and hackathons .

5)how is the infra at the place ? Both the clg building and labs

Is tamil compulsory for freshers in be b tech courses in actech or ceg. Im a cbse student with hindi soo it'll be tough if tamil is compulsory. Seniors pls help.

i have applied for anna university ece through industrial quota and they even visited our company but i am not sure that when will the results be published because vit chennai is starting in few days and i have it also as my choice , SO IF ANYONE KNOWS WHEN THE RESULTS WILL BE PUBLISHED PLS TELL ME

Went to ceg main building for admission process and honestly it was Pathetic Some of the Office administrators don't even care to help and some even misguided me like they don't even have cooperation between one hall to another like they gave one set of instructions to me on one hall and in another they were like who told you all these and most of those were Arrogant too which constantly made me get on my nerves like wtf we are here to study and this is how you guys behave to us . I did my ug in a private college and i used to complain the OA's there and now ig they were far more professional and efficient than these guys

im planning on placing CEG over PSG for ECE in tnea counselling, i heard teaching isnt good in CEG, is it true, i heard many professors of ECE(and other branches too) are research oriented and wont take classes and students have to bear the weight of teaching themselves. im so confused between PSG tech ECE and CEG ECE, can someone clarify. also with all that projects , idk if i can manage self study with it(already JEE mains prep with cbse prep was already tough for me), also what about ECE placements

i got admission for ME CSE program and my classes are due to begin on 9th April. I'm trying to get a room at the international hostel, what is the process?

I applied for vit civil engineering and got vellore as I am interested only in civil but my preference in only ceg or psg civil now according to google or ChatGPT choice filling for tnea is 20th July same date as the class starting at vit I paid tution fee but not yet for the hostel for vit so this kind of situation is alarming. I believed I would get ceg or psg civil but my general rank is just 11530 and bc rank is 6706 i am in a situation where I could not tell wheather I will surely get ceg or psg and confused since core engineering is better at anna uni than pvt colleges such as civil the commencement at vit is on 13th is it compulsory to attend orientation on 13th and seniors please guide me in this kind of situation !!!

I am getting ece in Anna uni mit campus surely and eligible for ICE in nitt and cse in iiitdmk kancheepuram, when I was looking at the placements of all these colleges I was shocked to see anna uni having the lowest avg package of all of them as it shows online 6-7 lpa as avg. I'm not sure of this is true and would appreciate if anyone would provide me with information and verify if what I'm seeing is true

Hey guys, I may get rubber technology in mit and I may also get printing/ceramic/apparel technology,My doubt is that can student from these branches can Attend IT placement as I have interest only in IT and I am considering it only for the exposure they have and (low fee) and I also have cse at sastra university (Thanjavur) as backup.I am very confused to choose the college
