Trip to Ayse / Bonneville with 2 kids, any tips?

Hi,

In a few weeks we are travelling to Ayse / Bonneville with 2 kids (3 and 5) and are looking for recommendations for day outings.

We're already planning to visit Lac d'Annecy, Chamonix and Lac Leman. Any tips or recommendations in the region are greatly welcome.

Thanks in advance!

I'm spending 2 days in Annecy and 1 day in Chamonix at the end of July. I already plan to visit Aiguille du Midi. What are your must-see places, hidden gems or tips to make the most of my trip?

Hike above village in pastures with cows? Does it exist?

Maybe a strange request, but I'm trying to find a hike near Annecy that would have a view of a village below it and walk through pastures of cows. I have read the Le Grand Bornand area is big on cows. Are there any hikes like this there?

Budget mensuel

Tips for first visit to Annecy

Hello,

I’m visiting Annecy for the first time, mid July, with my partner. We will be flying into Geneva (staying a night there) then staying in Annecy for 5 nights.

Just wondering if anyone has any tips, recommendations or anything? I do have some questions as well:)

- Is cash preferred, or card okay?
- Is there any nice restaurants? I was planning to bring a nice outfit or 2 as it’s our anniversary over there.
- is there any scams, or things we should be aware of or lookout for?

So far things we have ideas for, doing a day out hike for Lac Blanc and Chamonix. Cycling around the lake, some water sports, and boats etc, then sight seeing.

Any tips much appreciated ☺️

Animation Festival not really international friendly

Films like perfect blue, ghost in the shell etc are all in their original language and only with french subtitles. me and my friends can't speak it and there are no screenings for it with english subtitles which is really annoying cuz i paid a lot and wanted to see these 4k remasters but most films and especially the popular ones seem to be inaccessible to english only speakers.

Need some advice on van rentals and transfers

Hi all - could use some advice on the best way to go about picking up a rental van. We are a family group of 8 people flying into Geneva Airport. Originally I was thinking to pick up a rental passenger van at the airport, but the whole French side/Swiss side seems to be really confusing and I am getting a bit scared off by some of the reviews (especially rental companies on the Swiss side) which apparently are notorious for bogus damage charges.

Would it be easier and cheaper to take a bus (I saw there is something called a BlaBlaBus?) from the airport and just pick up a rental near the Annecy Train station? Then on the day of departure we can do the reverse?

Biking near the lake in the heat?

In something of an own goal, I pre booked and paid for bus fare from Geneva to Annecy and rented bikes (again, prepaid) this coming Saturday, before the heat breaks. More than likely, I could’ve done those things at the last minute, but it relieves some pressure on me to pre-book things. Is the heat more bearable by the lake? Are we going to be able to escape indoors? Or should I just scrap this whole thing and call it a loss? I love France so much and I’ve never been to Annecy, but that is truly the only day we can go and I’m not sure it’s worth it in this heat wave.
