Kobra x no extrusion even after replacing printhead and nozzle

I recently got a kobra x qnd I've been printing fine for about 100 hours.

Everything started going sideways when i tried to change the stock nozzle with an original 0.25 one from anycubic.

After replacing the nozzle I heard a loud grinding sound and every print after that didn't work: the print would start but only do the 2/3 first layers and then extrude nothing.

I tought the nozzle was clogged so i tried to fix it but with no success.

I mounted the 0.4mm nozzle again and after the calibration process it started printing again perfectly for about 10 prints.

After that it stopped extruding anything.

I disassembled the print head in full and nothing was stuck in there, it was perfect, but the filament always came out sratched after retracting.

I tought it could be a gear problem on the printhead and anycubic sent me a new one.

Fast forward two weeks, i mounted the new printhead, calibrated it, but I'm stuck with the same identical problem: the printer won't extrude anything even after clicking the extrude function.

I've tried multiple filaments, all pla+ by anycubic but nothing seems to work.

At this point I don't know what I can do more than this

Filament question

Had anyone tried running nylon, pa6-cf, or anything of that nature with the kobra x? Im thinking swapping the brass nozzle for the hardened steel and enclosing the printer would allow it to run those types of filaments? Anyone done this?

Multi-color files print in single color

Experienced 3d designer and printer enthusiast but can’t get multi-color mesh files I’ve designed to hold/translate their colors into the Anycubic Slicer NeXT. Using.3mf format painted in the slicer - when I load into the printer it will not let me assign the colors as shown in the second picture….

Print plate pulling up off the bed

Hey everyone,

Anyone experience the print actually lifting the corners of the plate off the magnetic hot bed, but the print still adhered to the plate itself?

It obviously warps the print and I’ve printed these parts twice and have it happen both times.

I’ve only ever had it happen on this print, and a couple different plates of this print where the objects were running corner to corner.

Thanks,
Craig

Anycubic kobra x

Hi, I want to buy my first 3D printer and wanted to know what you think about the Anycubic Kobra X. Does it really reduce filament waste? Is it better than buying an A1? (Regardless of the ecosystem.)

Clogging

Hello all,

Hope you survived the 4th of July! Question, my Kobra X keeps saying "Clogging" and pauses the printer. When I go to check it, the filament is pulled out of the extractor and up about an inch an half. So I push filament back into the extractor then it does its thing and starts printing the after a few rows does the same thing! Can someone help me with this!

Thanks

Why does the printer poop 5 (five!) times before starting the print?!

https://preview.redd.it/7krk6x8pj9bh1.jpg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0195cfafb63737732e749872bcc42529e2751b21

My Anycubic Kobra X poops once before the bed leveling, once after, once before filament cutting, and twice after, for a total of 5 times!

I am even using the same spool number and filament between prints.

I do not think this is normal; it is very wasteful...

Does anyone know how to reduce the number of filament poops? Thank you =)

Dried wet PETG using my print bed + cardboard box. Worked flawlessly for a watertight pool adapter

Had to print a 1.5-inch to 32mm pool adapter for a 320W pump, but my PETG was spitting and bubbling. Since I don't own a dedicated dryer yet, I tried the print bed method. It actually works perfectly if you don't overdo the heat.

The Drying Setup:

  • Threw the spool on the bed (propped it up slightly on some cardboard scraps so it wasn't flat on the plate).
  • Flipped an Amazon box over it, taped the edges, and poked 4 holes in the top so the trapped moisture could actually escape.
  • Ran the bed at 65°C for 6 hours total. Flipped the spool over at the 3-hour mark so both sides dried evenly. No warping, no fused filament.

Slicer settings for maximum strength & watertightness:

  • 0.20mm layers: Better than finer layers here. Fewer layer lines mean less chance for water to weep through under pressure.
  • 245°C Temp: I'm using a hardened steel nozzle, so I bumped the heat up to get proper layer fusion.
  • 30-50% Fan: Kept cooling low so the layers literally weld together.
  • Aligned Z-Seam: Kept all start/stop points in one straight line. Super easy to scrape off with a utility knife, meaning the threads screw in perfectly without random pimples blocking them.
  • Capped Volumetric Speed: Set to 8 mm³/s to give the steel nozzle enough time to melt the material thoroughly.

Hooked it up to the vibrating pump today under full pressure. Zero leaks, rock solid. If you're hesitant about the cardboard box trick, just make sure to vent the top and flip the spool halfway through. Saved me a chunk of money for a one-off project.

Kobra X: 7H lifetime...

Error code 10118 on my brand new Kobra X after 7 hours of printing.

Cables ✅

Y-axis ✅

Z-axis ✅

Ticket send and now I've to wait 1-2 weeks for a new printhead cable and change it by myself ?! 😑

Sell a product by highlighting ease of use and reliability, to start disassembling the machine after 7 hours of printing without using multiple colors.

I am not an electrician or a 3D printer technician.

I'm starting to seriously doubt the reliability and keep the machine.

If you have any advice, thanks in advance.

Kobra X

Coming from an Ender 3 pro, this thing is amazing, wife got it for me for Father's Day. 9 screws, initial set up and I was printing. No need to worry about bed being level every print. Multi color prints are simple to run.

Fan noise - Does it seems normal for you ?

It’s my first printer so I dont have any comparison but I saw people mentioning how quiet the Kobra X was and mine does not seems quiet at all, the fan is doing a constant whistling noise that is very anoying.
Thanks

Hot end nozzle stuck?

I’m working on tracking down a clog. I’ve checked the upper end of the extruder and nothing so I was going to check from below, well, I undid the two clips holding the nozzle on and it’s not budging. I’m not sure if my upper clip is somehow broken and it’s just stuck or what but any help would be appreciated.

I was going to add a pic to prove I’m not a dumbass and I undid both clips but apparently I’m too much of a dumbass to figure out how to post a picture on Reddit.

Multicolor & No Prime Tower

I have a large (pretty much the entire print bed) print (6x6 Gridfinity bin) and don't have room for the prime tower. The entire print is one color (black) except the labels at the end (white).
The bin has a "stacking" lip which is completes after the labels.

Has anybody tried this and gotten decent results?

Just asking before I commit to the next 9 hours of printing 😄

Filament Runout mid print, filament off roll, but still firmly stuck in ACE 2 Pro

Today I had a roll of filament run out most of the way through a 40+ hour print. The filament was off the roll, but still stuck a few feet into the ACE 2 Pro, which was gripping it firmly.

The printer was paused, but the UI didn't give me the option to eject the remaining filament. I ended up using needle-nosed pliers to pull the remaining filament from the ACE 2 Pro so that I could replace the roll. The filament broke a couple of times while I was pulling it. Luckily, there was enough left outside the ACE 2 Pro to pull some more.

Is there an easier way to do this? I keep filament backups for black & white, but the other colors will eventually run out during a print, and I'd rather not resort to pliers every time.

getting into the Anycubic environment for a newbie coming from Bambu HELP!!

in the most sincere way, please, how difficult or different is it to get into this ecosystem

a week ago my A1 mini with AMS was stolen at an expo

and well, I’ve been looking for a replacement, I saw this brand and they say it can go head-to-head with the A1 but it’s a bit tricky to repair

that is, I’m completely a newbie in the world of 3D printing and I used the A1 just for curiosities and just when I took it for something more... it’s gone, anyway...

I come to you to know if you’d recommend it for someone who knows nothing about this, in fact, in 400 hours with the A1 I never had a jam so I don’t even know how to remove a bad filament, or maybe I shouldn’t get into it and stick to what I theoretically already know, ahh because I also saw that this one can’t use Bambu Studio and learning another program… it makes me think…
