It's genuinely unbelievable that Apex could fumble the bag this hard.

It's like me showing up to 5 a-side football with boys and instead of what we usually do, try and make fair teams. I suggest, me and the 4 other best players there make a team and we just run up the score on the other 5.

Nobody would ever agree that this is a good idea.

The best way to do it is 1 good, 1 mid and 1 bad player on each team.

Next best is random chance. Which isn't a good plan but it's miles better than what we got.

I'm completely perplexed by the dev's choice here. It's the worst imaginable solo queue matchmaking. I can't think of a worse way to do it.

Two games I’ve played where final squad is in the ring in duos and they somehow live and win? The timing and ring damage don’t allow for quick heals to matter during final ring. Is there an exploit currently? Possibly with Axel, I didn’t get to see who won the 2nd match.

If they get rid of aim assist for controller they should ban every player that tap strafe in the game. Permanently ban every player that's a "movement player" because the range of motion on joystick is significantly less than mnk. Or better yet don't let controllers be used on pc just like mnk can't be used on console so the coping can stop. Mnk players can bounce off a wall, zig zag 4 times in the air while no scoping you in the face and now they want controller players to be forced to spend 20 minutes at point blank range trying to shoot each other. Mnk players just want controller to have no advantage and mnk to have all the advantages. It's ridiculous.

Left this game and all FPS games months ago and I’m genuinely enjoying gaming again.
You owe it to yourself. This game is a cesspool. Yes, everyone is cheating. Yes, he’s Cronus.
Yes, he’s XIM. Yes, he’s Titan. It’s a gigantic waste of time. Competitive integrity is completely gone.
No matter what you play, any game with SBMM is going to place you against these nerds if you’re good enough. So rather than be punished for your dedication. Quit. I’ve never been a fan of single player games because I was so addicted to online multiplayer but genuinely, give it a shot. A real one.

Ive noticed a lot of my teammates in diamond, are grabbing guns and quickly dipping to attack the team nearby. Many go down and some do live. But is this the new strategy? I don’t mind it but it does get a bit difficult. Or does anyone have any good strategies to keep afloat?

So am I wrong from a strategy standpoint if I believe it’s best to find a POI on the edge of the map and then work inward? I just think landing in the middle of the map means you can be attacked from 360 degrees whereas landing on the edge you only need to really worry about your sides and front. Seriously let me know if I’m an idiot. I only play ranked btw.

As the ranked matchmaking is now, pred players are priority queued with 1. Preds 2. Masters 3. Diamond players.

Is this working as intended?

The answer to that will determine whether I keep playing this game tbh.

Let's talk about Ranked for a moment...,

After many years of frustration watching how the ranked system has changed and evolved, I would like to voice my opinion on the matter. I want to share how I think certain changes would be healthier for the game in the long term compared to how it currently works.

The Problem with the Current RP System,

The rank distribution is a horrible experience for the average player. You are basically being punished for taking your time to play, only to be sent back to the slaughterhouse when the season resets. By that, I mean you might start at Gold 2 and stop at Diamond 4, because there is no point in continuing beyond that. For whatever reason, you just start being matched with Apex Predators.

Then, at the next reset, you are sent back to Plat 3 because the game thought you did so well last season that you deserved this extra 'push'. But in truth, this is not what players want, because it just means your season will feel much shorter.

What I would like to see changed is the entire point system. A single rank should not just be 1,000 RP in the current state of the game. It should be more like 2,500 to 5,000 RP—or even more—judging by how fast you can climb if you just have one good day in Apex.

Right now, the ranked splits last for about 90 days. Along with an increased RP requirement, I would like to see the return of full rank resets. This change would make the ranked experience much more enjoyable. It would allow hardcore players with more time to progress faster, while still ensuring the average working person can have a fun and fair experience.

The Console Experience (Cronus & Zen),

That being said, here is how my average console experience of a split or rank reset goes: I start in Gold 2 or Plat 3, depending on whether I ended in Diamond 4 or 3. Then, I wait a week to play just so the Cronus and Zen users can get a head start. After ranking up a bit, I wait another week or two before playing again because ranks progress too fast.

Finally, I stop at Diamond 4. By that point, every normal player knows there is no point in even playing unless you have at least one teammate with a Zen or Cronus to carry you.

Ideas to Refresh the Meta,

Some other ideas include having a three-character ban every time a match starts, which would allow players to shift the meta themselves. The same could apply to weapons, with only one or two being banned per match to balance out the pace of the game.

Furthermore, I would love to see the dropship mechanics implemented at lower ranks as well, because the sudden change is really confusing once you finally reach Diamond 4.

I thought it’s solo queue only diamond and up but I just spectated multiple pred teams and one of the teams had two guy with super low level stats but they were #111 pred and then the team that won was #3 pred paired with two other preds. Meanwhile my plat team is the only one in the whole lobby.

Genuinely enjoy this game and I want to play than I do lately but as a ranked enjoyer it's just not even tolerable anymore past a certain point and I wanted to share a few ways I've been let down tremendously by Apex, their dev team and the dunces in charge of the main Sub.

#1 Matchmaking, the elephant in the room. The thing everyone knows is dog water, but it persists. They refuse to change it and the latest test makes that crystal clear - if you're an average player or thereabouts you are not a priority for EA. You get some fair games until it's time for the Pred tax then EA doesn't care if you were on a 5/5 streak, or if you've already been having a horrible night - time for you to pay up.

#2 Deceitful Nature. Do you guys remember when we were told "new ranked rewards" are in the making, they even quoted the some old rhetoric something along the lines of "We know ranked rewards are lacking, your priorities are our priorities blah blah blah.." What did we get for it? The most obvious failure of a reward/cosmetic we've ever seen, a true blue blunder by EA. And I can prove to you it was a 100% failure of a system by simply pointing to the fact that they haven't tried to sell us any aura's yet.

We all wanted ranked trails back in a meaningful capacity and what did we get? Aura's and temporary garbage. The sheer audacity to even call them a "reward" when we haven't been given ANY additional aura options is baffling, and to add insult to injury when we did get the trails back they were introduced in a Bi-split temporary upgradeable fashion that quite frankly was just a spit in the face of anyone hoping to see trails make a turn. So now post-ranked reward update you have: an aura deemed so much of a failure even EA hasn't tried to sell us/offer us more, and a ranked reward trail you'll probably never have a chance at getting. Oh also it's temporary and only looks decent once you hit diamond. Nice.

Another small rant back when the dual katana's dropped some of you may remember they did an unexpected "extension" to the event timer so people with shards had to wait another two weeks, it was unannounced, it was something that had no prior precedent and they event sent Jaxx out to lie to our faces about how it was a simple "misunderstanding" despite the event end date being clearly announced, and 20+ seasons of precedent having been set for what that looks like when that happens.

#3 The official subreddit - the amount of times I find a post here talking about how they can't speak to the issue at hand in the main sub because the mods are purging anything that they don't like, 99% of the time quoting the "No duplicate posts" rule - which is an INSANE rule to have in a subreddit where I can see week long posts within a few scrolls, the subreddit isn't exactly popping. Also how vague "duplicate posts" is basically lets them delete any post they just don't like as there's not really original posts anymore are there? I see more action in the OSRS subreddit for a medieval clicking simulator than I do in the official apex subreddit. The Apex subreddit is basically for glazing only, no complaining past the very first time an issue is ever addressed or you're risking the fury of Lettuce.

#4 I'm an OSRS(Oldschool Runescape) player - Jagex is NOTORIOUSLY good at communicating with their player base, engaging in honest and constructive feedback, at least compared to anything else I've played in recent years. Primarily because OSRS exists off the backbone of Jagex ruining the game the first time around so they are capable of taking criticism and genuinely trying to do better in avenues they know they're failing. I.E. Most recently player support has been a huge hot topic item and for the first time in nearly a decade it has gotten better.

You will NEVER see this behavior exhibited consistently by EA or their Dev team so if you haven't already settled in for another 10 seasons of Preds stomping plats, EA shilling cosmetics and ignoring their player base then you're in for a rough time.

As for me I went from getting lvl 100 in the BP every split to not even finishing the last BP for the basic rewards, and since I don't have the coins buy the new one I've played even less this split so far but I do still hop on and play occasionally. Usually until I run into my first pred lobby.

After all it is an AMAZING game. Just one ruined by developer ignorance and/or corporate greed.
