AquaPlay IPTV: a lightweight IPTV player for Android TV and Samsung TVs (M3U and Xtream Codes)
Where to get it
• Android TV and Google TV (Android 7.0 or later): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aquaplay.tv
• Samsung Smart TVs from 2017 onwards (Tizen 3.0 or later): free, installed with Apps2Samsung. Install guide: https://aquaplayiptv.github.io/samsung.html
What makes setup easier
• Add your playlist from your phone: scan a QR code on the TV and type the details on your phone instead of with the remote. The details are encrypted on the phone and only your TV can read them.
• M3U playlists and Xtream Codes accounts, with several playlists if you need them
• The guide (EPG) address is picked up automatically when your playlist includes one
• Send your playlists and settings to another TV, or back them up to your phone
Features
• A full programme guide: now and next on every channel, the schedule beside the picture, and a TV Catalogue covering several days
• Catch-up where your provider supports it: replay programmes, start a programme over, and rewind live TV
• A Movies & Series library
• Search across channels and programmes, and programme reminders
• Groups, favourites, recently watched, and hiding the groups you never watch
• Custom channel numbers and remote control buttons
• Audio and subtitle tracks, picture size, automatic reconnection and a sleep timer
• Profiles, a parental PIN and channel locks
• Aqua, OLED and Custom themes, three text sizes and ten languages
• Multi-view and recording on Android TV
• No advertisements, no tracking and no account required
Good to know
• AquaPlay is a player only. It includes no channels or content; you need a playlist from your own provider.
• Catch-up only works on channels where your provider offers it.
• On Samsung TVs, AquaPlay is free. If it helps you, you can support it on Ko-fi: https://ko-fi.com/devdolev
