A colorful corner of one of my Anthurium cabinets
Just thought I’d share one of my favorite corners of my collection ✨

Just thought I’d share one of my favorite corners of my collection ✨
Am I doing it correctly and is it worth it?
These beauties arrived yesterday. I'm just waiting for another delivery, then both will be going on moss poles.
The Melanochrysum looks fairly straightforward, with loads of long aerial roots shooting I'm sure I'll be able to graft her to the pole guiding some of the roots inside to give her the best start.
The Billitiae looks like an alien compared to the tidy structure of Mel. Billy hasn't got a single aerial root going and the leaves shoot in chaotic, structureless directions! Which way should I pole her?
Any other advice for the care of these gorgeous things is more than welcome. 😊
I just got back to the Treasure Coast from a 2 week vacation with family in St. Pete and this girl amazed me once again.
I got her the beginning of last year when they cleared the lot next door to me (they do it every few years). The man who cleared it noticed my alocasia & orchid collection on my lanai and rang my bell to tell me about the Giant Elephant Ear. He found 2 that were over 4 feet already on the lot & dug them both up - he took one & the other sat in a 5 gallon bucket of water on my lanai for weeks- I just wasn't prepared for something so big. I finally got her into a pot months later (we're building on acreage & I wanted to bring her with minimal disruption) and she would produce maybe 1 stem every month.
Then we were hit with a frost while I was away the beginning of this year and I thought for sure I'd come home to her dead. Nope. She actually started thriving. She now produces consistently and her largest leaves currently measure at 36".
Returned home a few days ago and found her pup in the pot. I'm just happy she's happy.
Dog in photos is a dwarf Havanese, if that helps show her size!
Hi guys! I’m currently mixing my soilless mix I intend to use for aroids / hoyas. It includes:
- coco coir
- coco chips
- vermiculite
- perlite
-charcoal
Based on the video does this consistency seem okay? It does contain slightly more husk than I want but I’ll just pick those pieces out as needed. Do I need more chunks? Do I need more coir? When I squeeze it into a ball it does not clump together easily. I intend on using this in self watering pots in my greenhouse cabinet. Please help a girl out plant experts <333
I found this baby growing in my discard soul from a small bit of rhizome. I do not recognize it to any of my plants and wondering if something took a ride in one of my orders. The leaves have a texture closer to a Jacklyn than a Melo. Thanks for any help!!
How well will this combination do? How do you expect it to look when mature?
I waited for four months for the corm to awaken from dormancy and produce its first leaf. The corm is the size of a walnut.
The plant grows on very tall tree.
I've lost count at this point. My husband asked what came in the mail and I said, "If you can find them I'll take the lecture" 😂😘👋 ...don't mind the dog and his chicken, that's his baby.
Hi all, I want to start making my collection look more aesthetically pleasing for the house, and aside from purchasing nice ceramic pots to display my plants in, also want to replace my plant labels to look like they were professionally printed. Can those of you who use label makers suggest one that I can use for this purpose? Props if it costs under 50 USD, Thanks!
I dont know what this is, but it has been living in my shower, and just unfurled this lovely new leaf.
To my recollection, the name of the plant begins with "A" but i am drawing a blank as to what it actually is. I could also be misremembering that entirely
I would be so grateful for any advice on how to handle my monstera. I've had a really hard past year or so life and mental health wise and she has been neglected on an old computer chair in the spare bedroom. As the plant has grown its been propped up against the back of the computer chair so has ended up facing different directions when the chair swings around and when I remove the chair it's really floppy and pointing to the floor, and the growth direction is all over the show. I have also noticed that a whole large stem has broken off. This must be a while ago as it has callused off and must be being supported by its ariel root which has gone into the soil. It is giving me bits of new growth though. I really would love to know how to deal with this and stake or provide some other support to get her looking good again. Thank you.
Erbody thirsty. It's alright they'll forgive me ♡
