A Paris Balcony

This was a window facing the inner courtyard of the apartment I was staying in last month. For days, I admired it. Finally, on my second last day in Paris, I completed the sketch and the drawing you see here.

In both cases, I first did an underdrawing in pencil, went over it using Pelikan Brilliant Black ink in a Pilot Falcon fountain pen, and then erased the pencil marks using a kneaded eraser. The sketch (20.3 x 14 cm) is in a small sketchbook. I had been working on the drawing (30.5 x 22.9 cm) for several days, but it hadn't been going anywhere, and I had pretty much given up on it. It was a very hot day, and I had to put a damp towel around my neck with ice cubes inside it and also sip ice water the entire time.

NightSketching in Zurich

One of the NightSketches that I really like to do.. This one in Zurich, February last year. It was freezing cold at the time, I only managed to get a quick linework and the first yellow wash. The rest was made at home, next to a heater and with a good glass of red Wine :D

1st time in a gallery!

I am SO EXCITED to be in a gallery exhibition for the first time!! 🙌🏻🎉✨

I first tried watercolor as a new medium in January 2026 and it's safe to say I am fully obsessed now ha ha ha. 😂 I am in Parklane Gallery the whole month of July as part of an exhibition of small art! You can see the whole exhibition online (and buy any of the art). If you like small, affordable art then you will love the 34th Annual International Miniature Art show! 300+ small works from 100+ artists around the globe! https://parklanegallery.org/featured/?shopOrder=price

Seeing all the other art makes me realize I am massively outclassed here 😬 Idk how I snuck in to this prestigious show but I'm gonna relish it 😅 My art is tiny (2.5" x 3.5") so yes the details were tedious haha but totally worth it. Framed in 5x7 frames with double mats

Made a grocery cart page

Made a fun visual groceries list.

Drew two back-to-back grocery baskets and added in mini cut outs of groceries I need to buy from two different supermarkets (cheaper priced items from each place). The groceries are stuck on by tape and can be moved around or removed as needed. Just thought I’d share this cute idea.

“Lunar Bloom” 8x10 inch original acrylic painting by Courtney Rose, June 2026, Australia

“Lunar Bloom” is an 8x10inch acrylic painting, hand painted by me 🥰 Inspired by my love for insects folklore connections and my daughters love for learning about critters all around the world, and her favourite insect the Luna Moth, which we both discovered and learnt about together this year in her library book. It is my first original painting for sale on my new website ❤️

🍁 Tell me about a place in nature that still feels safe whenever life becomes overwhelming. 🍁

Brightscapes: The Way To Beauty

I step into the forest and feel my shoulders soften as the air turns cool and clean, the ground whispering with the crunch of leaves under my boots while a pale birch rises ahead of me like a quiet guardian, its branches holding a warm glow of gold and ember red that seems to breathe with the season. In that moment the noise I carried in fades, replaced by the steady rhythm of my steps and the gentle hush of wind moving through the trees, reminding me that nothing needs to be rushed and that it is safe to simply be here. I run my fingers along the smooth bark, notice the faint scent of damp earth and sunlight, and feel a small kind of magic where worries loosen their grip and my thoughts find space to settle.

When was the last time you let a walk in nature slow your breath and remind you that you belong to something larger and kinder than whatever you are carrying right now?

🩷 Do you ever use creativity to make sense of difficult moments? 🩷

I recently chatted with Bold Journey to talk about art, resilience, childhood sketchbooks, finding beauty in difficult moments, and why I'm still figuring life out as I go.

It ended up being a surprisingly personal conversation, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to share my story.
