Urgent: Our culture is being overwritten on wplace.live (Pixel Canvas). We need Arunachal and North East users to help reclaim our space!

Hey everyone,

If you are familiar with collaborative pixel art sites like wplace.live, you know it’s a global canvas where communities draw their flags and culture.

Right now, a coordinated group is invading the Arunachal Pradesh region on the map, intentionally spreading propaganda art to claim it as Chinese territory.

We cannot let our digital borders and culture be overwritten like this. We are planning a massive cultural takeover to clean up the region and replace it with authentic symbols of Arunachal’s rich heritage (like the Great Hornbill, Mithun, and traditional tribal textile patterns).

How you can help right now:

Walking the historic Bailey Trail! In 1913, Lt. Col. F.M. Bailey & Captain Morshead embarked to solving the mystery of the Tsangpo(Siang) River gorges.

In 1913, Lt. Col. F.M. Bailey and Captain Morshead embarked on one of the greatest Himalayan adventures — solving the century-old mystery of the Tsangpo River gorges.

Was the mighty Tsangpo (upper Brahmaputra) really flowing through the deepest gorge on Earth near Namcha Barwa? They risked hostile tribes, glaciers, and unmapped terrain to find the answer.

A true tale of exploration that still inspires the Bailey Trail today.

Arunachal Tawang Zemithang

Ohhh Goddd… Arunachal/Tawang — Beauty with the Beast ❤️🏔️

The best part of this entire trip?

Not the mountains...Not the lakes...

It was the PEOPLE.

The warmest, most peaceful, and inspiring souls I’ve ever met. Arunachal genuinely teaches you how simple and peaceful life can be.

Here’s my detailed itinerary + costing for anyone planning a solo/couple trip.

Arunachal/Tawang Trip Itinerary + Costing (8 Days)

💰 Rs 500–700

Honestly, Sangti is all about slow living. Just sit by the river and exist peacefully.

Stay:

Mandrel Khang Homestay

💰 Rs 2500/night

⚠️ Important Tip: Don’t buy anything souvenirs/snacks from military-run shops. Same items are almost 50% cheaper in Tawang market.

Day 4 — Bumla Pass Circuit

Start early around 7 AM.

Zemithang Valley Homestay

💰 Rs 2500/night

Day 6 — Zemithang Exploration

Visited:

Holy Tree Khenzamani

Spent the day exploring:

Giant Buddha Statue

War Memorial

Local Market Shopping

Stay:

Tawang Heights

💰 Rs 3000/night

⚠️ Honest review:

DO NOT book Tawang Heights. Homestays in Tawang are way better.

Day 8 — Tawang → Guwahati

Shared cab back to Guwahati.

💰 Rs 1700 per person

Book the front 2 seats and you are sorted.

The drive via Rupa–Shergaon route is insanely scenic and the Sumo drivers are absolute experts.

Total Travel Cost (2 Persons)

💰 Rs 21,900 total for 8 days (travel only)

Breakup:

Guwahati → Dirang Bus — Rs 2400

Dirang → Sangti Cab — Rs 700

Sangti → Tawang Private Cab — Rs 7000

Bumla/Madhuri Private Cab — Rs 5500

Tawang → Zemithang — Rs 600

Zemithang Local Cab — Rs 1700

Zemithang → Tawang — Rs 600

Tawang → Guwahati — Rs 3400

Tips & Learnings

  1. Read about the place before visiting

Knowing even basic history/culture changes the experience completely.

Monasteries become magical instead of just “photo spots”.

  1. Carry snacks/chocolates

You will get tired of Maggi and Momos eventually 😂

  1. Avoid military-run shops

Way overpriced compared to local markets.

  1. Compare prices in the local market

Especially crockery and gift items.

  1. Zemithang Tip (important)

If budget allows, take a private cab (~Rs 6000) via Motu Bhai.

Shared cabs kind of force a 2-night stay, which eventually costs similar.

What I’d do in hindsight:

Shared cab to Zemithang

One night stay

Full-day private sightseeing cab with drop back to Tawang

  1. Cafes worth visiting

Be Happy Cafe

Dharma Cafe

Soinam’s House of Cake

  1. Shared cab to Guwahati is actually GOOD

I thought it would be exhausting, but it turned out to be one of the most scenic drives of the trip.

Final Thoughts

This itinerary works best for:

Solo travelers

Couples

For groups, private cabs become much more economical.

Personally, I would still avoid taking one private cab from Guwahati for the entire trip because:

The cab stays idle in Tawang

The longer you stay, the less cost-effective it becomes

Arunachal is genuinely one of the most beautiful places I’ve visited in India.

Raw. Peaceful. Spiritual. Unfiltered.

Would go back again in a heartbeat ❤️

What about us?

Protests in Arunachal Pradesh intensified. As a tribal state, the natives have every right to voice their demands and rights. And it is imperative for every state festered with illegal immigration to take initiatives against it. Including steps like mass deportation, stricter ilp laws enforcement and long term solutions such as increment in border security. All is fine, until every non-native regardless of their background and sentiment for the state is blamed for the very same reason that concerns them too. Despite having genuine nationality proof, ilps and love for the country, racism is making distrust and a strong feeling of alienation grow amongst indians non-native to these states.

My question is simple. Are we not citizens of this country? Do we not love northeast as much as you do? And regardless of everything that has happened in the past, is it still unacceptable for a non-native to call Arunachal Pradesh or any other north-east state their home? I am not an indigenous but my heart belongs to this state of scenic beauty and outstanding potential.

And not to mention but it's unlikely any non-native would ever become the CM. Inspite of having 100% mlas and mps from this state belonging to native tribes, here we are. With immigration growing with lightning speed and corruption infecting the state like it's no big problem.

And at the very end of the day, when the jar overflows. We are the ones blamed and told to leave the state.
