What time do I need to arrive to Tabernacle ATL for a concert to make sure I don’t miss anything? Doors open at 6:30 but not sure I can make it that early.

edit: please only Tabernacle specific advice! I have been to lots of concerts, but none at Tabernacle. Interested in how well the operations run, want to verify whether or not I need to arrive 1.5 hours early just to not be late. Thank you!!

Hi! I’m going to a concert at Tabernacle, doors open at 6:30PM. I don’t have general admission so I’m not worried about good seats, but wondering how early I should get there to make sure I’m actually inside by 8:00?

I when to a concert at the coca-cola roxy a couple years ago, and the line out the door was about half a mile so I missed the opening act, just want to make sure to avoid being that late, but I don’t have a ton of flexibility since friends are coming in from out of town.

Thanks in advance!!

What is Six Flags Over Georgia Like Now?

I am from Atlanta but it has been a while since I was back. I remember it being a pretty fun place for kids, and I was thinking of taking my kids there on a visit when back in Atlanta.

But my sister, who still lives in Atlanta, said that Six Flags had really gone down hill and was not the best place to take young kids. What she said was that there were a lot of news reports of violence in the park and in the parking lots.

Should I be worried about taking young kids to Six Flags?

Any other tips about visiting Six Flags over Georgia?

Gaming spot recommendations in/near Atlanta

I'm visiting Atlanta for a few days and have some time to kill. Are there any good gaming cafes where I can do a pc rental to play league of legends? I tried Google but seems like a lot of popular gaming spots are permanently closed.

First time here, what to do/see?

Hello all, and thanks in advance. I'm a first time visitor, here till Friday afternoon. Big city guy, not shy, serious, culture vulture, history buff, internationalist.

On my list for sure are the High, and all the MLK sites.

On my probably (?) list are the Carlos at Emory, Aquarium, Botanical Garden.

I'd have gone to a ballgame, but the Braves are away :-( Other sports? Bar to watch the Knicks beat San Antonio? ;-)

What about the National Center for Civil and Human Rights? Never heard of it before...pricey!

What I don't know at all is where to hang out. Cool neighborhoods, coffee places, breweries, bakeries, farmers markets, live music, restaurants, ethnic, BBQ... Not a night owl.

Anything I should drop? Must adds? I don't have a car, happy to public transit, walk distances, Uber, etc, as needed.

Again, many thanks... looking forward to hearing from you all.

ISO Recs for Board and Train for Reactive Dog

We have been fostering dogs for a while and one of our resident dogs (we really should have worked with more when she was rehomed to us a few years ago) unfortunately has gotten more and more reactive because of it. Jumping, humping, snarling, barking when excited. Rougher play and won’t listen to commands. Leash biting sometimes. She is smart as a whip. We work with her a little daily, but we know it isn’t enough. We love her so much, but we are overwhelmed with her and day to day life with a pack of dogs. We want to get her into a board and train in the Atlanta area or day camps might work too. Positive Reinforcement only. We are not open to any aversive training (e-collars); etc. CDPT, Victoria Stilwell type training only. We are looking to save money or spend more upfront to get access to group classes later. Please help us compare choices. We know this will be an investment somewhere in the 2-3k range.

Starting a job with a daily coat-and-tie dress code. $5k to build a wardrobe from scratch in my 30s. ITP or OTP recs?

I'm in my 30s and starting a new job with a coat-and-tie dress code every day. I'll be honest, I've never stepped up my suit game. Right now I own two Men's Wearhouse suits from freshman year of college that don't fit right anymore.

The role comes with a $5k wardrobe budget up front, plus $2k annually after that. I want to finally build a sharp, well-fitted rotation I can wear with confidence daily. I plan getting at least 2 suits and a few shirts and ties.

I'd like a few recommendations so I can meet with several people, get a feel for each, and decide who I want to build a long-term relationship with going forward.
Thank you in advance!

Lakewood Amphitheater

June 10 will be my first time at Lakewood Amphitheater and a friend will be picking me up following my concert. What’s the best way to coordinate/easiest way to leave with minimal traffic? Is it smart to take the Marta out to lesser congested areas?

Where are you originally from?

As I have lived in the area, I really only ever met people from Atlanta originally, or at least the surrounding area, if not greater Georgia. But I know that Atlanta is a major city in the US where a lot of people from all over move to. At least I assume so.

So I am curious: where are you all originally from, be at the state or elsewhere? And what brought you to the area?

My son really wants to join an esports team. They do not offer one at his high school. I’m trying to encourage him to follow his passion and find community with what he loves. Any leads on esports teams for Marvel Rivals?

Can anyone please recommend a cross-state moving company that originates in Atlanta?

Was hoping someone here has used cross-state movers before, and could recommend a company please. Moving from Atlanta to Long Island next month and need an entire house worth of stuff moved. Loading, driving a U-Haul 950 miles, and unloading ourselves isn't an option due to needing to drive separate cars with dogs. I've called a few companies I've found on social media and Google for quotes and they seem to differ wildly and some aren't based/work out of Atlanta.

Thank you!

Looking for a Queer and Sensory Friendly Hair Salon

I'm wanting someone that can do fun colors and androgynous styles(wolf/shag cut). As far as sensory friendly, hopefully somewhere that isn't super crowded or loud. Its for me(an adult) but I have sensory issues and the hair salon isn't for me usually. I'd like to have a good place to go to even if its not in the city center.

Is queer dating usually this bad here, or is it just the apps?

Hi everyone! I just moved to Atlanta a few months ago and I, unfortunately, haven’t been having a great time. I’m working on putting things together in a new city, but it’s been kind of tough so far.

One of the main things that’s been getting me down is how hard it is to meet queer people, on and off of dating apps. I am a queer pansexual black guy, (but I don’t think it shows very much, other than the septum piercing) and want to meet more queer friends and make platonic and/or romantic relationships. I’m pretty introverted as it is, and I would like to work more on being more social and meeting people in person. However, as I don’t have that skill yet, dating apps have been my main way to try to meet people/people I may be interested in.

Since I’ve gotten here, though, I’ve mostly been ghosted, or had someone match with me and never respond to a hello message, or I just never match with people in general. I had a really wonderful date and a half with another queer person in my second month here, but then they ghosted me and I never really found out why.

Is this literally just the nature of dating apps and the amount of choices people have therein? Or am I doing something wrong? Some advice from other queer people/people in the dating scene would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Anywhere that I can seek an adult autism diagnostic assessment that accepts insurance?

It's lowkey been kind of a nightmare trying to find a place that does autism testing for adults with insurance/at a reasonable price. If anyone knows of somewhere in or around Atlanta, any pointers or guidance would be appreciated. I don't mind if it's telehealth or in-person. I just don't want to have to pay a crap-ton of money just for a thorough ASD assessment.
