Just landed in Barcelona and found out there are no tickets left for the days I’m here! 😭
Will gladly take anyone’s ticket during 5/23-5/26 if you won’t be able to make it, thank you!!!!

Hey! We're students from Mid Sweden University working on a project about overtourism in Barcelona. Do you live in Barcelona or know someone who does? We'd love your input! Our survey takes just 3-5 minutes and is 100% anonymous. Every response helps us a lot!

Interesting article about the man behind the fight against overtourism - https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/may/18/man-tasked-with-taking-barcelona-back-from-overtourism
My wife and I are flying into Barcelona (BCN) next month with a 10-month-old and a 3-year-old. I’ve been researching how to get to our hotel near the Cathedral, and every option seems to have a massive flaw.
I assumed a major tourist city would have this dialed in, but I feel like I'm choosing between physical exhaustion and safety risks.
Here is the "Pick Your Poison" menu I’m looking at:
The "Aerobús" Half-Solution: Everyone raves about the Aerobús. It looks great—cheap, frequent, AC. But it drops you at Plaça de Catalunya. Then what? We have two kids, a stroller, and three suitcases. Our hotel is a 15-minute walk through the Gothic Quarter. Dragging all that gear over uneven medieval cobblestones while dodging the famous Barcelona pickpockets sounds like a nightmare start to the trip.
The Taxi Rank Lottery: I’ve read that taxis in Barcelona are technically exempt from car seat laws within the "urban area."" But the drive from the airport involves highway speeds (C-31). I’m not comfortable holding my infant at 100km/h. People say "just ask for a taxi with a seat," but forums suggest 99% of drivers at the rank don't have them, and they get annoyed if you hold up the line asking.
The Metro/Lifts Issue: We could take the Metro (L9 Sud), but I’ve heard the elevators in the older city center stations (like Jaume I or Liceu) are either non-existent, tiny, or out of order. I don't want to be stuck at the bottom of a flight of stairs with a stroller and heavy bags.
Cabify/Uber Confusion: I tried looking at the Cabify app (which seems to be the Uber of Spain?), but the "Kids" option seems rare or requires booking 24 hours in advance with no guarantee the driver actually shows up with two seats.
Bring Our Own Seats: We could bring our American seats. But European cars are smaller—will our massive Graco seats even fit in a standard Barcelona taxi? And then we have to store them in our tiny hotel room for a week.
How do people manage this "last mile" problem in Barcelona? Is there a transfer service that actually guarantees seats, or do most parents just risk the taxi ride?"
Are there any good lesbian/gay bars in Barcelona? Not just queer friendly, but filled with mostly queer people? And how is the English amongst the locals? I went to Sevilla a couple of years ago and was pleasantly surprised by how well most of the locals spoke English, unfortunately it meant I was unable to practice my Spanish 😄 Will I need to learn Catalonian, or will my broken Spanish suffice?
