I was caught up in the moment and excited to find stuff I like so I was willing to pay that. I know it’s not a ton of money for the amount of stuff I got, but do you think the quality is good? I’m a student who’s traveling so I don’t have a TON of money right now. Do you think the pieces will last for a while or will they wear down pretty quickly? Any advice or comments I will greatly appreciate. Thank you!
Hello everyone
I am 40 years old, Greek (not from Athens) being living in London for almost 14 years now and thinking to repatriate because I got a job offer in Athens for close 100k. The company is solid and the role is challenging.
I have a wife who is a foreigner (not European) and we have a beautiful 2 years old boy.
Even though the job opportunity is great for Greek standards I am still worried about the quality of life in Athens vs London.
Is Athens better for my family? Is it a family friendly city? Is it safe? Is commuting better? We dont drive in London. No need. My life loves parks and green spaces. I doubt Athens have any.
Will we be able to survive just with my salary considering that my wife doesn't speak the language and probably wont find a job? Or at least will take some time. (She is a University lecturer and PhD holder)
Can please someone share their experience of moving their families in Athens after living abroad for more than a decade?
Is it posible to find delta 8 or delta 9 products in cabanis shops in athens and if it is can someone name a shop or 2? thank you guys❤️
Long-time visitor to Athens here (not a local, but I know the city fairly well at this point). This trip is a little different since I now have a baby daughter. I am staying with family so have child care, but I am going stir crazy. I'm finding myself wanting new things to see and do rather than the usual spots I've already covered a dozen times.
Would love recommendations for anything interesting, unique, or lesser-known, could be neighborhoods, day trips, markets, parks, or just good spots. Does not have to be kid friendly. I also have a car but dont want to do any overnight trips. Open to anything that isn't just the standard tourist checklist. Thanks in advance!
Hi everyone,
I’m arriving in Athens quite late on a Saturday evening and my final destination is Aegina. Since I’ll probably miss the last ferry, I’m trying to figure out the most practical plan for the night.
Would you recommend staying somewhere close to Piraeus so I can catch an early ferry on Sunday morning, or is it better to stay somewhere else in Athens and make my way to the port in the morning?
I’d really appreciate recommendations for convenient areas or hotels, especially if you’ve done something similar before. Thanks!

Hi, hoping for some advice or thoughts from the experts. My 10 year old is absolutely crazy about Greek Myths and we have booked a couple of days in Athens before our beach holiday on mainland Greece this summer. We have booked the 8am slot for the Acropolis and generally trying to work out how best to see the city and enjoy it without him getting overwhelmed. I know I might be asking too much and we are ready to spend a decent chunk of time in the air conditioned apartment chilling, but if anyone has great suggestions about things a history-mad child could do which we could break up with parks or green spaces (or water play!) I'd be incredibly grateful!
Hey, we will be visiting Athens soon and we are on a somewhat tight budget. What are the best places to grab lunch and what are some budget dinner spots? What prices are realistic for food and drinks? Also: whats the typical price for coffee?
Thank you so much in advance! :)
Not specifically for the city, but I wanted to ask what do university students wear in Athens? Is there any type of dress code for exams and for day-to-day? I want to know because Athens gets pretty hot but at the same time there may be a formal exam dress code or strict regulations.
hi! i’m staying in athens until the end of the month but i am in desperate need of a haircut. i’m a woman but im looking for a pixie/shag cut, without being given a “boy” haircut. basically im looking for alt hairdresser recommendations if anyone has any◡̈
Just moved to Athens from Scotland where cockroaches are pretty rare so not very clued up on them. I have spotted several outside the foyer and some dead ones inside the foyer of our new apartment (we are renting)
Done a little research and apparently they’re common in summer here, which I can handle! however I’m mostly anxious they get into my apartment (4th floor) I’ve checked for any entrance holes and covered them, I sweep and clean everyday and take out the trash. Placed some raid traps on the balcony. Is this enough? 😬
Also, I have some raid spray and gel bait, should I use it in the apartment even though I haven’t seen them in there yet? And lastly, could I spray raid in the foyer? I’m worried about harming the pets in the building and the cats outside. The building was last treated for pests in May this year.
I used to live in Bangkok so used to seeing them around and know they are part of live in a big hot city! Just seeking advice on preventing them in the apartment! Thanks!
Hi all!
Just got to Athens and my friends bday is tomorrow.
Looking for a bakery that would do lemon meringue pie or napoleon cake…
Staying by Omonias place, looking around plaka and the acropolis…
Thank you!!
What’s the taxi situation like in Afytos?
I’ll be visiting next week for 10 nights, and our apartment is around 0.7 km from the main town. Walking won’t be an issue most of the time, but on nights where we’ve had a few drinks, we’d rather get a taxi back to be safe (from traffic of course, as we’re a walk outside of town). We’re also hoping to travel from Afytos to Kallithea, which I believe is only a few kilometres away. I’m just not sure what a reasonable fare would be for that kind of journey.
I’m not looking to haggle drivers down to the lowest possible price, but I also don’t want to be charged far over the odds just because I’m a tourist. I’m happy to pay a fair, middle-ground rate.
Could anyone advise what the usual prices are for short journeys like these? Also, are there any reliable taxi companies or apps worth using, especially for daytime travel?
There seems to be much less information online about Afytos compared with other places in Greece, so I’ve not been able to find much.
Γεια σας!

Hello everyone!
I'm considering spending about two months in Athens this summer and I'd love to hear your thoughts.
I started looking for affordable places where I could enjoy city life, and somehow Athens came into my mind although I never been there before.
I have a few questions:
I'd really appreciate any advice, recommendations, or things I should know before booking.
Thank you!
