Affordable Home Studio?

Howdy! I’ve been producing out of my home studio for myself/friend’s projects for years now, and am looking into hiring out the studio space/engineer/mixing services at $30/hr as a starting rate. Any demand out there for these services at the lower end of the market?

I’m in central ATX.

Dad Singer - hardcore

I'm very capable, I'm 50. I write and play instruments too but I would like to mostly sing. Not looking to "make it" or whatever that shit capitalism tells us we have to do to make art and such. I do want the band to be good. Practice once a week, be adults. I don't drink or anything. I played in punk, post hardcore and even indie rock softer and slower emo stuff. I like melody, dynamics... anyone interested? Slint, Fugazi, La Dispute, The Bronx, mewithoutyou, Detachment Kit, Deftones and a ton more, but some spoken word, some singing, some yelling and shouting...whatever the song calls for.

Broken Spring - Trailer (2026) [00:02:13]

Broken Spring

Art, media, technology and a future nobody asked for.

A musician’s livelihood is in jeopardy after Austin’s South by Southwest (SXSW) music festival is cancelled unexpectedly, leaving him with no choice but to turn to online platforms in order to survive, and wondering if there’s still a future for artists like him in the Live Music Capital of the World.

Broken Spring explores the implications for human interaction, identity and creativity in a world increasingly mediated by digital technology, through freelance musician Alex Marrero’s experience during the spring of 2020, and the broader questions surrounding our growing dependence on the Internet for social relations in the attention economy.

Early technologist and media theorist Douglas Rushkoff provides unique insight into how we got here, the missed opportunities, and a way forward, while independent researcher Alison McDowell describes how the data extracted from us in the process mirrors colonial ambitions of a bygone era and are being used to forge a new empire.

Along the way, we meet a few Austin locals, including James Anthony Johnson – the city’s most famous busker, singer-songwriter Anna Milk, 6th Street poet Timothy, and blues saxophonist Kumar Bendrake. Through them, we catch a glimpse of a world that is disappearing before our very eyes, as more and more of us choose to parse reality through a screen in our pockets.

Would love your production thoughts/critique on my new indietronica track!

Too much treble? Too shrill? Or is it rough and aggressive in an interesting way? I feel like I'm getting feedback from friends that are a bit split down the middle on this one. Curious to broaden my survey sample size. I also have stems in a dropbox ready to share if anyone is interested in accepting a nominal fee to do a better more polished mix/master than i can

😘 DM me in you're interested!

Ska cover band looking for SAX player

Aust'n Found is looking for a SAX player. We're a ska cover band mainly covering third wave ska and ska-punk, bands like Reel Big Fish, Less Than Jake, Goldfinger, Bosstones, and whole lot more. We also make ska versions of non-ska songs, crafting our own spin on these songs. We've got around 35 songs in our repertoire so far, and are always adding more.

We're looking for a Sax player (alto or baritone, or both!) who is up for joining an established band and wants to play gigs usually around once a month. We get together to rehearse as a band 1-2 times a month, alternating between north and south Austin, and are looking for a sax player to round out our brass section (trumpet and trombone). We have a few gigs lined up in the coming couple of months and would love to add someone soon!

About us, we're all in our 30s-40s, all have full-time jobs, and do this for the love of the music. We do play paid gigs but we're not looking to make a living off of this. If this sounds like you, then send me a DM!

Check out our Instagram (http://www.instagram.com/austn_found) or website (http://www.austnfound.com) for videos and a song list.

Starting a band inspired by big thief - indie rock

Hello everyone, I have been posting occasionally looking to find people interested in doing some cover stuff or potentially making original music inspired by Big Thief!

I am a 19m musician/producer who can play guitar/bass/drums! I have my own rehearsal space in North Austin. Im open to playing with any musician of any age and background.

sidenote - any drummer interested can use my kit/breakables. I run A Customs, 14,16,18,20. Also I use Ableton 12 Stem Separation and have google sheets on how to play every song from big thief so learning the material shouldn’t be an issue! for anyone interested

DM me if you’re interested!!

Guitar setups, upgrades & Partscaster builds — SW Austin

Hey y’all,

I’m a musician in SW Austin and I build, modify, and set up guitars and basses, with a particular focus on Fender-style instruments. I do basic setups on electrics starting at $60, and also do pickup and hardware installation, electronics work, and other upgrades.

I also put together Partscasters, which is a big part of what I do. If you already have the parts, I can assemble, wire, and set everything up. If you’re starting from scratch, I can also help plan the build, sort through the different Fender/aftermarket options, make sure everything is compatible, and put it together once the parts come in.

Basically, if you have a guitar or bass that needs some work, or you’ve been thinking about putting together a Fender-style build, feel free to shoot me a message.

Looking to make music

Hi, I am looking for someone or people in the Austin area that would want to make music/ start a band. I have a bass, electric guitar and acoustic guitar that needs to be restored. I’m not too good with my instruments but down to let someone use them while I sing/songwrite. Open to any genre but really like dreampop, indie rock, and electronic.

Looking for bandmates (preferably 19-23)

I'm a beginner guitarist-singer, but I have a lot of history with music. I'm trying to get my foot in the door and figure out how to start a local band. I'll admit, I don't exactly have the funding or transportation to go far so I'm trying to work with what I got. I really like post-hardcore, alt, and 2000s pop-punk as I'm a big fan of green day/avril. However, I'm also a fan of many other styles too (as long as I can mosh at least a little heh). I've tried to improve my guitar/singing by doing online, but I just felt like it wasn't for me. I've always dreamed of playing in a band ever since I was a kid. With that said, If you're around 19-23, please let me know! I know music can be tough to get into, but I believe that with enough dedication we can make something happen. Just lose all hope just yet!
