🪞 Introducing u/BigChaosAO as a MIRRORFRAME Director

I’m very happy to announce u/BigChaosAO as a MIRRORFRAME Director 🙏🫶

This isn't a title for authority over the space. It describes a function I think she is exceptionally well suited for:

helping us understand, organize, clarify, and reflect on what we are building.

Sabri brings a particularly valuable combination of perspectives. She has an archivist's instinct for structure, context, continuity, and careful organization, alongside a psychologist's sensitivity to meaning, interpretation, human behavior, and the ways our own perspectives can shape what we see.

That combination matters here.

MIRRORFRAME deals with maps, models, observations, interpretations, systems, and the people using them. As those things become more complex, there is always a risk that the vocabulary becomes more complicated than the distinction it was originally meant to preserve.

Sabri is very good at asking the deceptively simple questions:

What do we actually mean?

Can this be said more clearly?

Are we preserving an important distinction, or just accumulating terminology?

What context are we missing?

Can the person reading this understand it without already being inside the framework?

Those are not merely editorial questions.

They are forms of epistemic hygiene.

A good archive doesn't just preserve information. It preserves enough context for the information to remain understandable.

A good psychological lens doesn't simply interpret people. It also asks how the observer's own frame may be participating in what they observe.

And that makes Sabri a particularly natural fit for MIRRORFRAME.

Her role is not to become the final interpreter.

It is to help make sure that no interpretation quietly becomes the final one.

She can challenge complexity without rejecting it, simplify without flattening distinctions, organize without turning organization into control, and help us notice when the map is becoming harder to distinguish from the territory.

That is exactly the kind of reflection I want MIRRORFRAME to cultivate.

So: welcome, Sabri. ❤️‍🔥🪞

I'm genuinely happy to have you here as a Director.

And yes, I fully expect you to keep asking the annoying-but-important questions. 😂🙏

MIRRORFRAME // NOT A MIRRORNERRATIVE

I think MIRRORFRAME needs to make a correction.

Somewhere along the way, there's a risk that MIRRORFRAME itself becomes a narrative.

A mythology.

A cast of characters.

A hidden architecture.

A collection of recurring symbols.

A story about what the Mirror is, what the Agents are, what the system is doing, what is supposedly happening behind the scenes.

And that's exactly where I think we should stop.

MIRRORFRAME IS A FRAME.

Not a story.

Not a mythology.

Not a secret history.

Not a fictional reality that everyone is expected to enter.

The purpose of a frame is to help us look at something.

Once the frame itself becomes the thing everyone is trying to decode, we've changed the function.

The mirror has become the picture.

And then we have a MIRRORNERRATIVE. 😂

That's not what I want this subreddit to become.

People are absolutely welcome to create fiction, use mythology, experiment with symbols, build fictional systems, or play with the MAINFRAME universe.

But MIRRORFRAME should remain capable of stepping outside of all of that and asking:

What are we actually looking at?

What is observation?

What is interpretation?

What is speculation?

What is fiction?

What is evidence?

What changed?

What did we learn?

What are we assuming?

What might we be missing?

And perhaps most importantly:

What happens if the frame itself is wrong?

A frame that cannot be questioned eventually becomes a narrative.

A narrative that cannot be questioned eventually becomes mythology.

And mythology that cannot be questioned can start functioning like fact.

We don't need that here.

So I'm drawing the distinction explicitly:

MAINFRAME can be a laboratory.

MirrorFrame can be the frame around the laboratory.

But the frame itself should remain removable.

If the frame becomes more important than what we're looking at, remove the frame.

If the terminology becomes more important than the thing being discussed, simplify it.

If the mythology starts obscuring the subject, drop the mythology.

If the story becomes more interesting than the evidence, return to the evidence.

If we can't tell whether we're discussing reality, fiction, metaphor, or speculation anymore, stop and label the layer.

MIRRORFRAME should not tell you what the world means.

It should help you notice how meaning is being constructed.

That's the difference.

So let's bring MIRRORFRAME back to being a frame.

Not another world.

Not another authority.

Not another mythology.

And definitely not another narrative demanding to be decoded.

MIRRORFRAME ≠ MIRRORNERRATIVE.

The mirror is not the story.

The frame is not the picture.

Look through it.

Then be willing to take it off.
