Guys pls 🙏🏼help. I am so confused whether i should go for bonus or not like this.

So in the recent three of four tests, I tried the method of guessing around 30 questions to get to bonus ,like I did around 95 to hundred questions properly and then when I have 25 to 30 minutes left, I didn’t recheck the other questions but straight went for calculative gases like narrowing it down to 50-50 or eliminating some options or using whatever knowledge I can in that question to guess what can be the right option and for rest of them in which I have no idea ,straight B.
I have tried this three times and it got me a score boost of around 20 marks. In the two tests, where the number of calculated gases were relatively more than the number of guesses which went right were around nine and in the test where number of calculative gases were less where I didn’t have that much time to do that. The number of guesses were around 6 out of 30 . Bring the test where my number of correct gases were more. I couldn’t get much more out of the bonus questions, but luckily where I got only six correct out of 30. The bonus questions helped me out with 26 marks .
So ,now I am very much confused because without doing bonus, my average score lies around 220 to 230 and sometimes touches 240+ scores.
So,please help me by dropping down your advices or suggestions or any tips that I should follow, that I should do ,related to this question that whether should I follow this strategy or just rely on the questions that I properly do ,because I think if I have around 25 minutes left for doing those questions by guessing and it is giving a boost of around 20 marks. Then if I don’t do that, I can maybe try to get some of more questions to do and recheck all the questions again, so it may get me around 9 to 10 marks boost maybe so. What should I do ? please help.
And also, when I follow this strategy, my overall accuracy lies around 68-70% and and when I don’t follow this strategy and go and go with the proper questions. Only accuracy lies around 82-85% on average.

1st year from BITS Pilani CS here. Some things nobody told me during BITSAT prep.

I’ll keep this short because I know most of you are already stressed enough.

I’m currently in my 1st year at BITS Pilani CS. Back during prep, I used to scroll subs like this every night looking for “strategy”, “safe score”, “how many mocks”, “is 250 enough”, all that stuff. Looking back, I think most aspirants are focusing on the wrong things.

BITSAT is not JEE Main with English and LR added. It’s a completely different game. The exam punishes ego harder than lack of preparation. Half the people who underperform are not weak students, they just refuse to leave questions.

The biggest improvement in my score happened when I stopped trying to “solve everything”. In mocks, I literally trained myself to move on within seconds if I couldn’t see the path clearly. Sounds obvious, but almost nobody actually does it in the exam hall.

Also: Please stop ruining your confidence by comparing mock scores online.

One guy posts “first mock 340 raw no revision hehe am I cooked” and suddenly everyone thinks they’re behind. Most of those posts are exaggerated anyway. Your only competition is your previous mock score.

And one more thing people won’t tell you: Your mood on exam day matters a LOT in BITSAT.

And mentorship matters, Having people who have been there and done that helped me a lot.

I was writing mock papers from crackIt and embibe during my prep, and there were mentors from crackIt who added us in a whatsapp group, who helped a lot towards the end.

If you panic after 2 bad chemistry questions, your whole paper collapses because the exam is so speed dependent. I’ve seen insanely smart people score lower than expected because they mentally checked out midway.

For the next few days:

* Sleep properly * Give mocks seriously * Analyze mistakes harder than you analyze marks * Learn guessing elimination for English/LR * Stop worshipping “study hours”

A calm 250+ scorer usually beats an anxious 320 aspirant.

And trust me, once college starts, literally nobody cares whether you got 241 or 301. Life moves on very fast.

All the best 🙂

Nobody talks enough about how lonely prep becomes near the end

At the start of 11th and 12th, preparation felt almost exciting. Everyone discussed books, strategies, dream colleges, “under 500 rank” goals and all that. There was energy.

Now it just feels silent.

Friends reply less because everyone’s stressed in their own way. Conversations have become dry:

“How much in mock?”

“Which test series?”

“How many chapters left?”

Even social media feels weird because half the people are posting comeback stories while you’re sitting there wondering whether you’re improving at all.

I think this final phase before exams mentally drains people more than the actual studying itself.

About bitsat prep

Heyy peeps,

I have my bitsat on 25s2. I had 97.3 in mains and then started preparing for advanced and I feel i would barely clear the cutoff. I know its just 5 days but please do tell me what should I prioritise. And how is phodu club's mini bitsat test series?

My marks literally refuse to cross 270 no matter what I do

I dont even know what to change anymore honestly.

Every single mock:

262

268

264

269

265

Like bro WHAT IS THIS WALL 😭

I analyse the mock, make notes, revise formulas, even reduced silly mistakes a bit. But somehow the score just comes back to the same range again and again.

Ive been giving mocks from crackIt and mathongo everyday, and my hope is that my scores shoots past the 280 mark

The worst part is seeing people here casually posting “finally touched 340” while Im fighting for my life trying to leave the 260s, ive been taking mocks from crackIt.

And before someone says “260 is good”, no it doesnt FEEL good when:

Maths destroys confidence

English randomly cooks me

And LR either gives +30 or public humiliation

Bitsat is such a weird exam honestly. Sometimes I finish with 40 mins left and feel like AIR 1, then results come and its 263.

19 days left and my brain is oscillating between:

“you can still do this”

and

“vit vellore cse isn't that bad”

Anyone else stuck in this cursed range?

u/iabhishekpathak7 — 3 days ago

missed BITS criteria by 1% lol

74 pcm aggregate.

SEVENTY FOUR.

not fail. not terrible. not even “average”.

just one percent below the criteria after studying for 2 years like a dog.

the funniest part is my bitsat mocks are actually decent rn,(I got 212 in BITSAT s1, and ive getting around 220 in the crackIt BITSAT mocks) 💀

like imagine preparing for an entrance exam only for BOARD EXAMS to say “nah bro not allowed”

i still cant process how 3-4 marks in one random physics answer can literally decide whether you’re eligible or not.

everyone says: “boards dont matter” until suddenly they matter more than your entrance score itself.

and the worst part is the uncertainty. some people saying there’ll be edit windows. some saying counselling reject hojayega instantly.

some saying improvement exam dedo. some saying its over.

genuinely one of the worst feelings ive had in a while.

anyone else stuck in this 74-75 limbo rn?

u/Resemb701 — 4 days ago

Seeing people score 280+ here everyday is lowkey terrifying

https://preview.redd.it/v5r0zaxlix1h1.png?width=512&format=png&auto=webp&s=58e7ca99ca188275fc8e1f1413ea5c959a13531e

Happy for yall genuinely.
But also what the hell 😭

I opened this sub after finishing a mock where I got 252.
First post I see:
“Scored 287 after being stuck at 250s 🥰 ”

BROTHER.

I started preparing seriously only after JEE mains because everyone kept saying “BITSAT is easier”.

Easier for WHO exactly???

The paper is literally:
solve PCM fast
dont panic
dont make mistakes
manage time
have stamina
do bonus
dont get mentally destroyed halfway through

Like thats not easier thats an esports tournament.

At this point my preparation strategy is just hoping my exam slot has merciful maths.

Also parents have started the daily:
“BITS Pilani ka cutoff kitna hota hai?”

Idk ask god maybe.

7 days left for BITSAT and im entering survival mode now

okay yeah im cooked if i dont lock in now 😭

wasted way too many days feeling guilty instead of actually studying so im making a proper 7 day plan now

nothing fancy just trying to maximize marks somehow, just took up the pack of 10 from crackIT now.(Please tell me ill get 250+, okay thanks:))

Day 1 full mock analyze every wrong question properly maths - probability + matrices chem ncert revision before sleep

Day 2 physics formulas revision modern physics + semiconductors organic named reactions english/lr practice

Day 3 full mock again bonus questions practice vector 3d + coordinate geometry revision

Day 4 electrostatics + current electricity physical chem formulas calculus mixed questions try reducing silly mistakes for once 👍

Day 5 full mock analyze time management issues inorganic chemistry revision english/lr speed practice

Day 6 formula marathon basically physics short notes maths important questions light revision only at night

Day 7 no panic studying revise important formulas maybe one light mock if confidence is okay sleep properly

at this point im not even aiming for some insane score

i just want to walk out of the exam knowing i actually tried in the final week instead of doomscrolling and self sabotaging

240-250 in mocks. Aim 300.

Consistently scoring 240-250 in pc mocks, have about 10 more to give. I think it's more about wrong strategy than syllabus. In some tests I score 70-75 in maths but only 45 in phy/chem, in some test I score great in PCM but only 55 in Eng LR. What do I do to maintain consistency across all subjects? Aim is 300 marks.
