Towed our car without warning

Just wanted to share a story on here and make sure I'm not actually a crazy person feeling how I do.

We've payed for a BJ's membership for years now, and two days ago my girlfriend got in a fenderbender in the parking lot and didn't feel comfortable driving it home.

We naturally made sure to park it far out of the way, and contact the store manager who was very polite and said it was not an issue.

Today, we attempt to get it towed after checking yesterday again to make sure it wasn't drivable. It was to cost $75 with the company we were about to use. Come to find out, the District Manager took it upon themselves to tow the car yesterday without reaching out or anything, which has the snowball effect of now costing hundreds more to go through their specific company and all the hurdles that entails.

I think it's absolutely outrageous to pay for that membership, and not be even given the curteousy of a phone call after being told by management previously that it wasn't a problem. I called the home office, who have filed an incident report and explained that I will receive a call back in the next 3 days.

I think it was just a misunderstanding, but today every $ counts, and more than anything I just want an apology (although I also think a credit for the difference in tow costs isn't unreasonable here).

Never posted in this forum, but please tell me honestly...what are your opinions about this? Do you think I'm coming from an unreasonable place?

Thanks guys. I'll follow up with what ends up happening

Looking to Apply question about overtime/time and a half

For someone that’s a meat cutter how strict are they on paying overtime. If I’m someone willing to work it will they offer it as needed or is it very hard to get. My current company overtime is taboo and they’d rather watch you struggle than pay it. I’ve read they paid time and a half on sundays too but supposedly that went away at least in certain states. Can anyone confirm that?

App is Always Wrong - is it Just My Area?

I’m in NOVA and I’ve noticed that the app is almost always wrong regarding whether the store has the item and/or what aisle in the store is the location of the item. I’ve asked managers if they have items that the app says they have and they’ve told me “the app isn’t reliable”. Same thing with the location of items, they say they don’t know why the aisle is wrong. It’s not even a little wrong. I went to an aisle for cottage cheese and it was gardening supplies. We confirm it’s the correct store I’m looking at and it’s still wrong. This happened at 3 different stores in my area. Why do they even bother having an app if it’s always wrong? Or is it just my area that is having issues?

Market adjustment? is $20 an hour fair for 10+years experience?

I've been doing some research and the term market adjustment keeps popping up. From my understanding, it's a more comprehensive review over the compensation you're receiving in relation to the amount efficiency of your daily output and the benefit it provides the company as well as whether or not it aligns with their policies and procedures.

Simply put better performance equals higher pay. I suppose I'm foolish for just assuming that that would have been a given as something considered upon being hired. So what I'm reading is that I should email somebody an outright request for a market adjustment. I started in the tire Bay at $20 an hour. I have been there for a little over 6 months and have a decade or more of experience in tire sales, tire service center, labor and wheel alignments as well as various other retail, hospitality and social work which has given me a vast array of customer service skills and strategies over the years.. I just feel like I do so much more than my coworkers in terms of getting the job done, right. Nothing against them. They just haven't had the same time on the job as I have but they are all good workers nonetheless for the most part. Then I'm reading something about piece rate which is, I guess payment per labor service provided that other places in the industry are using for compensation. $10 per tire mounted and balanced $15 per flat repair, $5 per rotation etc. Etc. but I guess that's other companies in the industry, although I've never found any tire distributor or service centers like that. bj seems to have a good spiff program but I can't for the life of me find company documents through work day or ukg or okta or any other online portals and my supervisor isn't knowledgeable on this kind of stuff either. And the club managers never available. What's your opinions? Is that a fair rate? Sales, service, alignments propane fetcher and inventory management and trainer. I like the place most days I just wish they showed their appreciation to us all a little more $wise . I wonder if the northern regions pay more than the southern regions too..?

Does Deli preorder still work?

The Deli Preorder hasn't worked reliably at my store all year. I place the order, get the confirmation but they never get it at the store? When I show up, it looks like the machine is off. I've asked corporate and the store manager about it and never get a straight answer.

I'm wondering if its just my store or if they are all messed up.

Employee's Discriminating Against Trans Shoppers

Is it the policy of BJ's Wholesale to discriminate against trans shoppers looking for clothing?

Backstory: I visited a BJ's Wholesale Club in Deptford, NJ on May 9th of 2026. I was shopping for female clothing as an outwardly showing male. Looking at female shirts and dresses; holding them up to my person and seeing if they would fit. BJ's is a wholesale club where you are not allowed to take unpaid merchandise to the restroom to try something on; so for someone like me who might be unsure if they should buy an XL or a XXL I need to do my best guess. So, as I was doing this while completing my weekly shopping I was yelled at by an employee, several aisles over... She said... 'do you need something' which I replied I was looking at clothes. She said... 'for you?'...

Which caused me to react. She was eaither a) annoyed that an outwardly male customer was looking at female clothes or b) annoyed that in doing my due diligence to see if something would fit... was unfolding her previously folded attire. Even though, being a formal Old Navy employee I am very mindful of making sure I am not disrupting too much of their work.

So, my question is... Is BJ's not a safe space for a transgender member of our society to shop?

New BJ’s member. What are the must haves?

Hey everyone I’m a new BJ’s member for the first time ever thanks to the promotion! What are your must haves there! I’ve already found that they have the cheapest cantaloupe (my fav) in town, filled up my gas tank, & bought a big thing of toilet paper (how is their toilet paper btw? Haven’t opened it yet). I joined Sam’s too with their student discount and I like the better variety of both but love that BJ’s has coupons. What are the best snacks & foods there as well as things that are too cheap to buy anywhere else? Thanks!

Help with price check

Can someone with a membership check the price for me for Kamado Joe grill at BJs please. I don’t necessarily want to get a membership if the price of the item is not competitive.

BJ'S ATT DEAL IS A SCAM AND RIPOFF

I was stopped at the BJs in Owings Mills, MD about the free Iphone 17 offer they had. I was told by the salegirl that the Iphone 17 would be free and I would receive $11 credit on my existing phone bill and a $250 BJs Amex gift card for signing up for the offer. I asked 5 times you sure the phone is free - no catches and nothing I have to do - she answered yes. I texted her and asked is this phone free - she said yes. Now ATT is telling me that the deal was I needed a phone trade in worth $130 and my phone trade value is $125. Then I was told the BJs gift card was supposed to be on my order but it is not so I can't receive the gift card. Oh and that $11 credit on my existing bill is now a $11 addition. I asked the salegirl how would I get the card, and she said just by signing up for the free Iphone 17. ATT has these people in the stores lying to consumers to get phone sales. I have called several customer service numbers. My complaint was elevated to Tier 2 Advanced Support and they are telling me - I am denied the offer because of the trade in value of my Iphone 13. She never mentioned a trade in value. I traded my phone in thinking I could apply the value to my existing bill. I told all the levels of ATT support that the trade in was never mention. She ordered the phone on the spot without knowing my trade in value. I didn't know my trade in value. I would have never signed up if there was a trade in value involved. They should not order phones claiming they will be free, if the offer is contingent on a trade in value. Now the salesgirl does not work there anymore. Go figure. This deal is a rip off and a scam. Its been going on for years. There are post on her from 2022. Be wise please don't fall for the free phone crap. Don't do it.

Gasoline Quality and Longevity Concerns with Current Version of Hell in ⛽️🦅🛢️

Hey everyone, I wanted to bring up a concern I have.

Apparently, no one seems to know if Bj’s gas stations are using E-15, which is a fuel with 15% ethanol in the liquid that can do harm to car engines over time.

I’m questioning this because it seems to may have happened around the same time as President Trump’s implementation of E-15 to begin being able to be used.

Many people on social media have reported that their fuel efficiency is lower than before. Some have even shared proof, as people’s newer cars have data that showed the tracking of the fuel efficiency.

There’s also speculation that gas stations were diluting the gas with the 15% ethanol and not informing customers until shortly before or after President Trump officially got the EPA to begin giving those Clean Air Act waivers.

Personally, I have friends and family who have noticed a decline in the longevity of their fuel tanks since this occurred. However, it’s worth noting that they don’t purchase gas from Bj’s gas stations. Despite this, the fact that many businesses weren’t disclosing the amount of ethanol in the gas or were only disclosing it after many Americans would have made fill-ups is sad.

Is BJ's still popular? I like it there, but I find myself going to Costco more often...

I love Costco, but I grew up going to BJ’s, so I’ll always have a soft spot for it.

BJ’s coupons are honestly pretty solid, sometimes better than Amazon deals, and I’m a big fan of ExpressPay. But I’m still not totally sure if I’m gonna keep the membership.

For people who shop there a lot, am I missing something? Like is there some secret BJ’s value I’m not appreciating?

Also Costco obviously still has the $1.50 hot dog, so there’s that lol.

Going in for night assistant interview tomorrow, questions about pay.

So I'm a night ops supervisor with a home improvement company but want a change. I have an interview tomorrow with bjs for night assistant manager, and I'm curious about the pay scale. I can't afford a big pay cut, but I also doubt they will give me 30 an hour like I make right now.

Any nam out there who can give me an idea? I'm in central NJ if that helps.

Thanks

First time gas user question

It was my first time using bj gas today. I had an issue with using my credit card. After I inserted my credit card (my card doesn’t have a chip), it told me to either enter pin if it’s a debit or press clear if it’s a credit. However after I pressed clear the transaction just got cancelled. Anyone know what’s going on? Thank you!
