Towed our car without warning
Just wanted to share a story on here and make sure I'm not actually a crazy person feeling how I do.
We've payed for a BJ's membership for years now, and two days ago my girlfriend got in a fenderbender in the parking lot and didn't feel comfortable driving it home.
We naturally made sure to park it far out of the way, and contact the store manager who was very polite and said it was not an issue.
Today, we attempt to get it towed after checking yesterday again to make sure it wasn't drivable. It was to cost $75 with the company we were about to use. Come to find out, the District Manager took it upon themselves to tow the car yesterday without reaching out or anything, which has the snowball effect of now costing hundreds more to go through their specific company and all the hurdles that entails.
I think it's absolutely outrageous to pay for that membership, and not be even given the curteousy of a phone call after being told by management previously that it wasn't a problem. I called the home office, who have filed an incident report and explained that I will receive a call back in the next 3 days.
I think it was just a misunderstanding, but today every $ counts, and more than anything I just want an apology (although I also think a credit for the difference in tow costs isn't unreasonable here).
Never posted in this forum, but please tell me honestly...what are your opinions about this? Do you think I'm coming from an unreasonable place?
Thanks guys. I'll follow up with what ends up happening
