I find it concerning and honestly disappointing to see some of the discussions in a facebook group related to psychology.

I understand naman na the postponement was made because of the weather, flooding, and safety concerns. Safety should always come first. However, hindi ko maintindihan why people who are worried about their non-refundable accommodations, plane or bus tickets, transportation, and other expenses are being mocked or called “privileged.”

Why does empathy have to be one-sided?

We can understand why the exam was postponed while also acknowledging the financial, emotional, and logistical burden na dala nito. Maraming examinees ang nag-travel from the provinces and gumastos weeks in advance. Their frustration does not mean na mas importante sa kanila ang examination kaysa sa safety ng mga tao.

As psychology students, shouldn’t we understand this better? We study empathy, ethics, individual differences, and how circumstances affect people’s thoughts and emotions. Yet some are quick to invalidate someone else’s struggle simply because iba ang situation nila.

We can advocate for safety without mocking someone’s financial concerns. We can support the postponement without dismissing its consequences.

Empathy should not be selective, and ethics should not only apply when it is convenient. If we are studying psychology, we should know better than to make empathy a privilege that only certain people deserve.

hi, anyone who can give some tips how do you unlearn or overcome doomscrolling habits during review sessions?? gaaahhhd. can’t help myself out para kong naka-autopilot when switching apps. i’m using phone to read pdfs btw and i don’t have alternatives to use kaya i’m really struggling with this dopamine addiction. it’s like i’m on unending loop. really need to focus na sa review now that i have second chance to lock in before the boards 😩

hello! as much as possible I don't want to post that may contribute to negativity as the board exams is approaching (I hope it doesn't), pero ever since Monday I couldn't focus on reviewing nor taking drills. Polishing na lang naman for some topics on the subject, but I couldn't function well.

Do you know some tips how to mitigate this as someone na gusto sulitin yung extended na araw? I was thinking maybe my body is catching up from all the exhaustion from last week since I was consistently answering drills from rc and rationalizing it, with breaks din of course :>

Genuinely so frustrated with how they handled the rescheduling of board exam dates. Priority talaga ang safety over everything else, and tama naman talaga to reschedule pero sana naman napagisipan nilang i announce ahead of time and not 2 nights before the board exam???

Also the fact that paiba iba ang instruction for each branch of prc requiring requirements (bags, calculators, etc) ANG GULO!!!! Like for example today, PRC NCR announced that basic calculators are not allowed anymore, and that they updated their specifications of what kind of calculator to bring. They mentioned of this update 2 days before the supposed board dates?!?! When people have already spent so much money trying to comply to their rules and adjust to their testing sites which by the way bakit di nalang uniform ang pag post ng testing sites for all cities? Anraming testing sites na sobrang unconventional yung layo to the people.

Genuinely so frustrated with how this system works! Its so stressful, time consuming and also nit everyone have the means to accomodate right away to their rushed rule changes!

Ang hirap ng lahat ng systema sa pinas. Nakakapanghinayang.

I may or may not be overthinking this but I'm trying to make arrangements around transport on top of everything, but I'm worried of the possibility that our board exam would be moved cus of inclement weather.

Has there ever been cases where class suspensions have pushed the board exam date to a later date or would it push through either way? If exams were suspended would they announce it a day before? If our board exams were pushed, when would it postpone to? I've looked up a few things about whether board exams have postponed before but all ive seen were specifically related to the Civil Service Exam and i was worried it wouldn't apply to our exam.

quick rant.

ang lala ng prc. bumiyahe ako from cavite to qc yesterday, only to get stranded on a bus because the traffic literally wasn’t moving due to the flooding. millions have supposedly been allocated for flood control, metro manila is the center of everything, and yet this long-standing problem still can’t be solved?
then i took the lrt. the line was insanely long and it took me almost an hour because there was literally only one teller. the queue was so long that people were lined up from the first floor all the way to the third-floor stairs. wtf.

i booked a place to stay because of the storm and because i didn’t want to deal with the commute on aug 19. guess what? it’s non-refundable and non-rebookable. i spent ₱6,000 for what? only for the exam to get rescheduled?

i mean, i understand that safety comes first. but luzon has been dealing with storms for weeks, and now you decide to reschedule the exam when it’s literally one day before the board exam?

myghad. you’re called the Professional Regulation Commission, but this whole situation feels so unprofessional.

do they not realize how much money, time, and effort examinees and their families put into this? do they seriously think everyone can just afford another accommodation booking? some people saved up for months just to cover the expenses. some had to take leave from work. some traveled from provinces just to be there on time.

and now we’re expected to deal with another booking, another trip, another set of expenses, and another round of preparation because of a decision announced at the last minute?

again, i understand that safety comes first. but there has to be better planning and communication than this.
wtf moment talaga. ₱6,000 down the drain, and i’m sure i’m not the only one dealing with unexpected expenses because of this rescheduling.

₱6,000 accommodation pa lang ‘yan. hindi pa kasama pagkain, pamasahe, booking fees, and everything else. not everyone can simply pull another few thousand pesos out of nowhere. for some of us, that money took months of saving and a lot of sacrifice.
wtf moment talaga.

While some of you are privileged enough to study without worrying about work, some of us are here feeling anxious, frustrated, and honestly, lost.
Some of us already filed our leaves just to prepare for the boards. We planned everything around the original schedule, used up our leave credits, and sacrificed work just so we could have enough time to study.

Now that the exam has been postponed, I honestly don’t know what to do anymore. I can’t just extend my leave because NAHUROT NA AKONG LEAVE just for this preparation. I still have a job to go back to, and I can’t afford to keep taking days off.

I know the postponement might be good news for some people, and I’m happy if it gives them more time and less pressure. But please understand that not everyone is in the same situation.

We already sacrificed our time, money, energy, and leave credits. We prepared ourselves mentally for the original dates. And now we’re expected to adjust again, even when some of us have nothing left to adjust.

Honestly, I’m angry. I’m frustrated. I’m scared.
Not because I don’t want to take the exam anymore, but because I don’t know how I’m supposed to prepare again while working full-time.

I just wish the people making these decisions would also consider those of us who are working. Some of us can’t simply put our jobs and responsibilities on hold**.** While some are celebrating the postponement, some of us are quietly worrying about what we’re going to do next.

I really don’t know what to do anymore. I just hope they understand that this postponement affects people differently.

Pinanghihinaan na talaga ako ng loob because of the weather. Ang hirap pa kasi wala akong mapagsabihan since I kept this as a secret. Malayo rin ako sa testing site, kaya I planned to leave the house around 3 am.

Pero dahil sa nakikita kong baha all over the Metro, mas nadadagdagan lang lalo yung worry ko. I know we all share the same concern, and at this point, mas anxious na tayo sa possibility na ma-stranded sa baha kaysa sa mismong exam.

I really hope PRC considers all these factors because ang dami ng uncertainties and possible risks na kailangan nating i-deal with on exam day.

With all the information din na rare mag-reschedule ang PRC, napapatanong na ako if this is still worth it. How much are we willing to put ourselves through just to show up?

Kayo ba, anong thoughts niyo? May decision na ba kayo?

Di ko na talaga alam guys hahaha naka empake na ako and all tapos naresched na pala, tangina talaga ng gobyerno kase nasa mindset ko na 19 and 20 yung exam and results sa 27 like alam mo may expectation na. Hindi ko alam kung matutuwa ako na there will be more days to review or what eh 😩🙂

Hi, I have been getting a lot of messages from my juniors about what happens during the actual boards, and since magbisaya nalang ko, lahi lahi ang mandate per prc nga testing site. If you are taking the BE in CDO, and you have any questions comment down below (sorry diay to hear nga namove ang boards huhu)

Alam ko malapit na BE and lahat tayo nagpeprepare for it. Pero lately, kung kailan malapit ang BE, saka humihingi ng tulong sa pagrereview.

For context, simula nung nagstart na ang review sa RC, I told myself na bawasan muna ang mga gala and labas ng labas para makapag-focus, lalo na graduated na and I don't have the obligation yet to find a job immediately. I tell myself na this is a privilege na kasi may iba na working students who juggle their time talaga para ma-fit nila ang sched ng pag-aaral nila (saludo sa inyo talaga!) Kaya ayun, last 2 months ago, dinidisiplina ko na self ko to manage my time.

Yung mga kaibigan ko na nag-RC din, I've noticed na sobrang bihira lang nila pumasok sa RC. At first I don't mind naman kasi baka ineenjoy muna nila yung vacation nila. Kaso habang tumatagal, it's becoming concerning na rin. I noticed na yung stories nila sa IG every week may galaan, lalo na tumatapat talaga sa sched ng RC (kaya majority of that time, absent sila). May times din na kapag nagsostory ako ng review ko sa IG, nagrereact sila and naghihingi ng reviewer, to which I give naman kasi tulungan na this exam.

As they continue this, na-ooff ako kasi napapaisip ako kung sineseryoso ba talaga nila yung review nila, lalo na parang bakit nakaasa na sila sa akin sa mga notes ko that I take when I am at the RC (like di pa enough yung sinend kong reviewers). Dahil doon dinidistansya ko as much as I can sa kanila na kasi parang umaasa na sila sa akin kesa umattend ng RC na binayad nila.

This week naman, supposedly pahinga ko, nagchat yung isa sa kanila for help. Inaask na paano gawin ito at ganyan sa PA. That's the same topic that was discussed over and over ng mga iilang lecturers noon sa RC (mga parametrics and nonparametrics, validities, and reliabilities, etc.). Sineen ko lang siya kasi ayaw ko na ng ganon, lalo na I feel like I am being taken advantage. Tas mamaya, after what happened, may makikita ako sa IG notes na "damot amputa" like ????

Tangina dapat BE ako nasestress pero di ko alam bat sa mga "kaibigan" ako nasestress. Parang gusto kong magalit na ewan sa ginagawa nila, lalo na parang nagmumukha akong selfish sa part na yun kahit sa totoo lang, napapagod ako sa ganong pag-uugali nila. Gusto ko lang irant out here kasi ambigat na masyado sa puso ko ngayon, lalo na I am mentally exhausted din.

Hi guys, I’m spiraling right now and heavily considering not taking the BE bc of unpreparedness (only seriously studied for 2 weeks). Initially I wanted to still take the exam regardless if I pass or fail, but now I’m getting anxious about the possibility of failing and considering not showing up at all. Can I know what the difference/pros/cons between a “no show” who retakes after a year AND failing the BE then retaking it next year.

Hope you guys can enlighten me! (I’m still leaning on going for the experience but if its “better for my record” to do the other, edi why not 😭)

Working self reviewee here. Night shift pa. Nakapag review naman through JP Buduan's lectures and TOS Based reviewers. If kinakaya ng time i answer quizzes. Pero mock exams ABPsych and DevPsych lang huhuhu. Kaya ko ba twooaah? 😭😭😭
