I was browsing on my laptop and found this old meme I made after I gave up on Pigeon Blood

Like omg one of the worst VN experience ever! One route was pretty good and cute, one was boring but fine, and the last two are absolutely horrendous and THIS GUY!!!! He was the worst out of the bunch. Probably never finished the game.

Really a shame because I liked the horror elements and in the end Mizusawa was a really cute LI but that's it. Also what do you mean the yandere butler didn't got a route? T_T And the game tried to villanize him while the MC hooked with this a-hole on the picture. Not cool!

The demo of my dark fantasy BL game "Inimigo" is now out on both Jast Store and Steam! One week to support the crowdfunding

Hi everyone, I'm working on rising funds for this project! This is a visual novel where you play the "villain" and the love interest is the "hero".

Full summary:

Erester, a daemon, wants the end of humanity! However, his goal seemed impossible after his defeat by Gael, the  Warrior Saint. With his decapitated head flying away from the rest of his body, Erester was overcome with regret for having spared that same Gael years ago, when he was still a defenseless child, for no apparent reason. However, once again Erester awakens, conscious and whole. What are Gael's objectives in returning the same clemency?
Follow a BL story between two enemies and see if the cycle of hatred can truly come to an end!

JAST Store page

Steam page

Catarse (crowdfunding) page (english guide)

Trailer

The crowdfunding is still at 60% (the game will realease if don`t meets the goal), so if you want, I would be really glad!

Looking for pretty boy yoai.

Can anyone recommend me any visual novels with pretty boys? I don't mind if it's NSFW, as long as there aren't any hunks. Honestly, not my type. Pretty boys as in like, twink or a clean face or just a boi you'd consider very precious. I like all sorts of genres, just not anything too depressing. So, hit me. I need my yaois.

My murder mystery eroguro BL game, Kurage: Love in the Deathless City, has an early demo out now!

Heya folks! Do you like cyberpunk? Murder mysteries? Angst and trauma? Borderline murderous toxic yaoi? Then do I have the game for you!

Kurage: Love in the Deathless City is an adult murder mystery visual novel about two immortal* dudes in a cyberpunk dystopia trying to solve the mysterious case of Tsubasa Akizawa, a celebrity who committed suicide under suspicious circumstances 5 years before the story began.

It follows Keith, Tsubasa's childhood friend and former lover who's still deep in mourning, and Kurage, an android replica of Tsubasa created a few months after his death by a company aiming to capitalize on his popularity. After a chance meeting, they realize that Tsubasa's "suicide" was actually a murder and resolve to find the truth together.

It's also an eroguro title, so please mind the content warnings! It's not going to be for everyone but if you're the same type of sicko pervert I am I think you'll enjoy it!

This is an early demo of the first chapter created for Yaoi Game Jam 2026. The story has been fully planned but not fully written, but I'll be working on it bit by bit and by the time it's finished I expect it to be around 10 hours long. The current demo is an hour long and contains a petty decent slice of what you can expect from the rest of the game, including three short adult scenes and a point-and-click investigation sequence.

my thoughts on Hashihime of the Old Book Town

it's 5am and i just finished playing hashihime of the old book town and it was such a rollercoaster ride??? I'M NOT OKAY 😭😭😭 10/10 art and 10/10 soundtrack definitely set the atmosphere!!!

I LOVED MINAKAMI'S ROUTE THE MOST!! probably one of the best i've ever read in a blvn so far!!! it felt more like the true ending to me with how complex and emotional the narrative was, so complete and satisfying and just *chef's kiss*. istg i can feel his love for tamamori from my side of the monitor. fr had me bawling my eyes out even after i was done with it.

i also enjoyed going through kawase's route. it really dug deeper into his character, trauma, and relationship with tamamori. honestly didn't expect i'd like him much but I DID. plus i love his voice so much. also that ménage à trois idea at the end?? like bro stop giving my brain more things to think about because I WOULD LOVE TO SEE IT 👁

struggled doing hanazawa's route like i read it all but my brain just turned off in the middle yes i hated it that much like what's the point hanazawa?? what's the point???? the ending was also huh??????????

wasn't expecting much after the mess that is hanazawa's route but lowkey also liked professor's route. he's actually the first who caught my eye because i'm into weird and awkward guy s who couldn't help but moon over their crush 😭 thought he was gonna be a dark yandere-ish character but he ended up being wholesome??? and just hopelessly and one-sidedly in love with tamamori lmao i'm so sorry for judging you professor

finally, >!kaoru's!< route. my expectations were high for this one with how the first 2 routes went and with all the build-up (i got jumpscared by this guy too many times to count help 😭 still like his design tho) from the other routes and with how his route's branch started but it kinda fell flat?? we didn't even get to see any development between him and tamamori because of the timeskip. the initial scene where eveyone's supposed to film was ✨peak comedy✨ tho. i really thought it's gonna be the final plot twist but then i got JUMSCARED AGAIN. by fucking >!kaoru.!<😭😭😭

Problem with Shingakkou LunaTranslator

Hey! Sorry to post that here but i really don't know what to do..

I tried to read Shingakkou with a french MTL (i'm not good at english), but when the text is a dialogue / spoken by a character it's translated three times

As you can see, it should only be : "Cecil : C'est vrai.."

If the text is not a dialogue (narration only) it's translated normally, in one sentence. How can I also make it translate normally when it's a sentence spoke by a character ? Thank you sm

About visual novels with VNR translations...

Asking here because the two vns I noticed that have these (partial) translations are 2 BL games: CAGE -OPEN- and PigeonBlood. I found out about the latter having a translation when I was checking the page for the visual novel.

I tried to download VNR after this and it gave me a trojan error. I'm realizing this might've just been Windows being Windows and I plan to try again. But I've heard that VNR doesn't work well anymore while doing my research. If anyone has played either of these through VNR recently are the translations still working with VNR in 2026?

If not, it's fine, I'll just add them to my JP-only backlog and eventually read them at some point. I was also planning to read the untranslated parts of the patches on my own anyways. However, I did want to know in advance so I can make a decision.

Hashihime of the Old Booktown what character is this ?

I got this acrylic standee from Hashihime of the Old Booktown and I am almost positive it is Hanazawa, but due to his outfit I am pretty confused…and I am sort of thinking that it might be >!the shopkeeper aka the future version of Tamamori, but the hair doesn’t totally match!< if anyone is able to clear this up for me, please let me know thanks!

Update: I did it, I played Shingakkou...

Context: I asked everyone what I should play next, and I got a lot of suggestions to play Shingakkou (https://www.reddit.com/r/BLgame/s/RA0PRATTSw)! (Thank you to everyone who did and u/Difficult-While-6370, here's my review finally!)

Oh my gosh. I don't even know what to say. Took me like 2+ weeks cuz I'm slow, but damn. The amount of plot twists and tears I cried because of this game is insane - it just continued to get sadder. Also, I love how 5 seconds into the game it jumpscares you with the snake symbol, hahaha. I played in the order recommended by ChemMong's BLVN blog: Cecil, Leonid, Neil, August, Gabby. I think my favorite in order has to be Neil, Gabby, August, Leonid, Cecil, though. Here are some of my takeaways -

Cecil - such a kind, observant loverboy. >!I feel so bad for what he has to go through in his route though. Also, I'm not sure if it's because people can jump between routes, but I felt like there were too many "Oh no, can't sleep? Me neither. It's okay" and "Cecil are you okay? Why won't you tell me? Nevermind, it's okay" scenes.!<

Leonid - reminded me of a very sleepy Lan Wangji, haha. At some point, I couldn't unhear Leonid ending his sentences with -tamae, and it would make me laugh. His smirking sprite was so funny to look at too like the "that damn smirk" meme >!I don't think his route was necessarily bad, but it felt kind of detached from the story compared to everyone else? Similar to Cecil - too many "hey, why is this place so messy!" yadayada parts.!< Overall, so cute and I loved his voice so much >!(especially his voicelines as Lucifer)!<!

Neil - Oh my goodness.>!Neil's letter scene made me cry so much. Overall, his route made me cry so many times - so thoughtful but also such a heartbreaker. From being little brother-zoned to self godfather-zoning. I honestly respect how the story took a realistic approach of him staying away for Michael to mature up - granted yeah they still slept before so it's not much but yes. Seeing older Michael and Neil with the flower crown was so so nice though they looked so good together !<easily one of my favorite blvn characters now. Currently on the hunt for games with someone similar to him

August - >!Okay, I can't forgive him... Priest Hisoka with a sad backstory. I genuinely loved his character in the beginning - a carefree priest that's kind to everyone, kind of like how Neil is in reality i guess, gosh I love neil. I get his really sad story, but my face during every horrible thing he does to Michael was just 😨 So much trauma to the point he forgets everything about August has to say something... playing August's route made me miss the other characters so much that I was so happy to see them towards the end. But I did cry when I thought Michael actually died with him and when Michael prayed for him to go to heaven.!<

Gabby - Maybe I was just >!really sad while playing, but the tears just wouldn't stop. I really didn't want to believe he wasn't real after so many times he saved Michael's ass during everyone else's routes. I thought he'd be like the angel equivalent of what August was - being able to mindread and have some magical power of fending off evil. Till the end, being met with Gabriel that's nothing like Gabby was also just so sad.. I miss the carefree Gabby. Quite literally every time Michael cried in this route I was also crying. !<I have to applaud Michael/Gabby's voice actor so so much. So much emotion, Michael's screams like everything so well done. Also, in general the casting for everyone was awesome. Took me too long to realize Abel was the one and only Kaji Yuki. They really bagged the big people wow.

Story + Other thoughts: Every time I thought the route would end, it didn't - I think that says how well written this game is - there isn't much questions I have after finishing the game. >!Like - who was the guy Father Lazarus liked? August? And what were those rat sounds after all? Why did August meet little Michael?!<I was writing down my impressions and notes as I was playing, and it was interesting to see how I called a couple things like >!how Gabby just lowkey disappears after you get far into someone's route; I wrote "did gabby die where tf is he istg if hes like a figment of michael's imagination."!< Also, I really respect how they made everyone reversible and seeing how stuff changes because of that.>!(Not August actually doing the voice of Minnie when he's topping rather than threatening Michael of doing that when he's bottoming...) !<Is it bad to say that this game has also kind of helped me with my relationship with religion? (I used to be very religious before I stopped going to church and came out to my religious family - I'd say I'm still more spiritual than being Christian though.) BGM - I love the happy ending song so much I replay it often with other music. Though, after playing the last two routes, the song feels more bittersweet than simply happy. Even the side characters are written so well... I'll miss that tsundere fox Jack Hobbs and Father Lazarus

Anyyywho... I loved it so much. I'm definitely going to play the fandisc sometime, though I know it won't be as good (after reading the reviews, it seems like the minigames are a bit of a pain). I'm worried I'll feel like I'll never find a game as good... I think I'm really addicted to plot twists now. It also made me realize that there are so many good VNs/stories out there, BL or not, that I need to read. Next up, I'll probably play the fandisc, Omerta, BaraKi, Absolute Obedience, or finish Luckydog1 (gah, so many choices again). Tysm to those who recommended Shingakkou again!!

Age gap BL visual novel A Studied Seduction will be released soon!

Hello everybody, this is ebi. I'm a visual novel developer who's released a few BL VNs in the past.

I thought I'd make a post to say that I've been working on a sparkly BL visual novel for this year's YaoiJam called A Studied Seduction.

The story is about an ex teacher, Arthur, who's just turned 35. Arthur worked as a teacher for almost a decade, but he retires after a traumatic incident and begins to work in his parents' second-hand bookshop instead.

By a stroke of good luck(?), Arthur happens to run into one of his former pupils, Mason, who is now 21 years old. Mason winds up working at the same shop as Arthur and, against Arthur's better judgement, the two begin to bond.

Arthur finds himself enjoying his time with Mason, but the closer they get, the more uneasy he becomes. Is it morally dubious to share so much of himself with a former student, and why is Mason being so pushy in pursuing a relationship with him?

You can find the visual novel on Steam here! It will be released before the end of the month for the jam. I hope you will enjoy it if you do choose to check it out!

Tired of overpowered yanderes? Try a powerless one. A BL psychological horror game launching Sept. 3 — 10% off (5.39)

Trailer: YouTube

Steam: Dissolution of My Self — free demo available now!

Hi! We're Pop Elephant Studio. Dissolution of My Self, our point-and-click BL psychological horror game, launches September 3 for $5.99 — or $5.39 for the first two weeks.

Most yanderes are scary because they're powerful. Ours is scary because he has nothing left.

Our protagonist, Hector, lost everything:

  • His kingdom. A crown prince reduced to a fake name on a passport.
  • His mobility. An assassination attempt left him with a damaged leg.
  • His future. Just one rented room and a window glued shut "for safety."
  • Everyone but Matvey — his uncle, aide-de-camp, caretaker, and "mommy."

How it plays:

  • Click objects to uncover memories Hector refuses to face.
  • You choose the order: what you touch first, he remembers first.
  • Remembered objects blur and become unusable.
  • The order changes. The ending doesn't.
  • His medication changes the narration. Don't trust everything he tells you.

Also:

  • No monsters, jumpscares, or combat.
  • Full Japanese voice acting (Netoru Irakusa / Tetsuto Furukawa).
  • Jokes straight from hell.

CW: self-harm, manipulation, transgressive intimacy between relatives, regression, violence, and substance misuse.

Thanks for all the support from Reddit so far! :)
