I’m thinking about selling my BMW 550i V8.
Honestly an amazing car to drive: the V8 is smooth, powerful, and extremely comfortable on long trips.
Always properly maintained and well taken care of.
If anyone is looking for a true performance luxury sedan, feel free to message me for more info or photos.
Anybody know where I can get some nice wheels or maybe the stock wheels that come with the m550i?
Have you also had any issues with this vehicle ? I bought it was 68k miles and so far it runs okay.. Only thing is sometimes I feel like it runs slightly weird, when I do a pull or go over 80-90 mph it feels like the wheel might need to be balanced or maybe an issue with a motor mount or axle. Not sure. Taking it to get inspected this weekend.
So I have tryna hunt down this cat code I took it to my local bmw tech and I was told my clamp was rusted away and causing exhaust leak and it was so clamp got replaced and I got the same code today and a check engine light I was doin my spark plugs as well today and found oil on every plug on top threads as u can see in pics no oil consumption or misfires or power loss but I am getting a kind vibration on warm start like shaking that comes and goes and last for like 5 seconds then car is normal small amount of oil in well in pic as well none on coil packs just lost atp.
Hey yall I finally got around to getting my Bimmercode for my 21’ 540 and was curious what people thought were some mods would be useful for more day to day stuff. I already looked around and done some basic stuff like changed the colors of my ambient lighting but haven’t dived to car into anything.
Anyone have a PCV Delete kit installed if so which one? I am looking at the v1 Ross Racing kit dont know which setup I should go with VTA or one with the catch can?
Should I go ahead and can I get an external wastegate instead of rocking the electric wastegate (I’m on stock turbo) and just get the whole VTA kit with CC that fits an external? What’s the best course of action?
Current Mods: very minor

Hey, I finally completed OFH + water neck and sealings on intake on 530ix (2017). For anyone foolish like me that starts to take engine apart in front of flat with no lift. Be prepaired for 4th bolt (right bottom) which took me 5 DAYS or trying to unscrew it and then 1 day to put the new one back. On YouTube and guides it looks super easy, reality is much worse but after so much time there I found its possible to put left Hand Under OFH and reach for the bolt with finger. At the same time using 1/4" with E10 in right hand try to guide the socket/extension to the bolt with your left hand. Its nearly impossible to do it just by blind trying and removing Trans cooler sucks too. Good luck!

Just wanted to present our immaculate 530d RWD Touring - Saphir Black Metallic
Searched nearly two years (to find my dream spec) until I found this beauty in northern Germany.
It is a RWD (hard to find nowadays in combination with the 3L diesel) with adaptive suspension with also active roll stabilization!
Very well equipped with HK, ACC / driving assistant professional, head up display, comfort seats with nappa leather + seat cooling & glas-sunroof. It has laser lights, M-package & 20" Styling 846 as you can see on the pictures. It is also equipped with the M-Performance brakes (which are outstanding).
For us it is the perfect daily: plenty of space, extrem comfort (especially due to comfort seats) & enough power to have lots of fun (combined with the great suspension & brakes). Consumption on that car is also unrivaled (7.5 l per 100 km). 520d makes zero sense in my opinion as it has the same consumption but the engine does not belong to a 5-series (rough characteristic & lack of power).
We truly love this car & plan to keep it a very long time. We will keep it pristine & will maintain as it deserves. No changes planned. I only will do a light polish & ceramic protection & that's it.
Hope you enjoy, as we do.
Hey all.
I made a post already for another issue but this is a continuation and i don’t know what else to do. It’s a 2018 BMW M550i
One morning it started perfect and then it just shuts off on auto start stop in the middle of the road. Got it to go again but had drivetrain malfunction and a CEL. So I pull codes and get some waste gate and charging ones which I resolved.
But I’m also getting crankshaft position sensor: general los of synchronization, direction of rotation implausible, and faulty.
So I replaced the sensor and I’m still getting the same codes. I did the reset adaptation, I checked the wiring from the sensor to the DME , everything is good. I’m stumped…

Hello G30 sub,
I recently got my new to me 2023 540i m sport, shadowline, etc and I love it but definitely want to start doing a few upgrades soon like exhaust, intake, and eventually downpipes etc.
For exhaust what would you recommend that makes to car sound much better but without being loud in cabin or droney while driving etc. looking for a sporty sound
I’m torn between these two options. Is it worth sacrificing mileage for the MHT engine and the (better) LCI looks/package?
The specs are about the same, it’s just the age and mileage that differ. Does it matter having the higher mileage if the servicing has been done? Ideally, I’d want to do the transmission oil but I think it’ll be too late for the LCI
When I unlock car (wake up car) - it has started making this new noise (the noise when I show undercarriage).. it turns off after 10-15 seconds.. any one know what electronic is this and why did it suddenly start? Owned this car for 2 years now and this is the first time I’m hearing that..

Hi all, I am considering purchasing a late LCI 540i offered by a BMW dealer. I had it inspected by an independent vehicle inspector. The car appears to be fine, except for the wastegate valve, which is making noise. It is possible that the previous owner had a power-increase tuning box installed and used the car extensively. All other aspects seem to be fine.
I am currently trying to negotiate with the dealer to have the turbocharger replaced under warranty, which would resolve the issue. However, because of the issue with wastegate valve, I am also wondering about the condition of the cylinders and how the look. Any other places to look into?
Thanks for looking into this, I appreciate your help.
Hey all! All of a sudden today while driving and coming to a stop at a red light, the auto start stop kicked in shut off the engine put the car in neutral and then wouldn’t start. It will crank and try, but it would not run. Let it sit for about five minutes, turned off the power started it again and it drove for about 20 minutes. Everything was OK but less powered than normal.
Then on the way home (about 40 minute drive) at first no engine, light or drivetrain malfunction and had full normal power, however towards the end, the car went in limp mode and would not go faster than 10 mph or 1100 RPM. That happened after a short burst of heart acceleration.
There is an engine light on and a drivetrain malfunction on the iDrive.
Got the car home let it sit and cool down for a bit attempted starting again and it would not start after about 10 attempts. It would start but not smooth and while running it cut every now and then.
I don’t have my good scanner with me. However, I do have a Bluetooth OBD that I plugged in and pulled a couple codes that all attach as pictures. Fuel pressure looks good no misfire codes.
I’m stumped.
The video is 3 videos but Reddit spliced them into one, first shows attempting to start (yeah I know , hard on the starter) second is running but fan at max, third is running and sounds good but won’t rev past 1100rpm and cuts out randomly.
Right now I have 245/40 r19 square stock setup but when I bought the car a year ago they put tires on the front that are different than the back. All 245/40 but since the fronts are new and rears weren’t it’s bad for my xdrive system so I am buying new tires. I want to go bigger but not sure if I can/ if it’s a good idea. I don’t want my tires to rub but I would like to go 265/35 all around but am willing to do 255. Just want some wider tires for aesthetics. Is that ok to do mechanically or will it cause certain parts on my car to wear faster?if it’s going to cause significant wear I will just run the stock size but I would really like to size up.
Has anybody used BC coilovers on their 540ix? Picking up a '17 sport line package tomorrow with super low miles and loking for a very minimal drop (MN winters) while improving handling and adjustability. Maybe .05" drop max.
