Deal check

Certified 2024 i5 e40

Msport
DAPP
Executive package
Luxury seating package
Bowers and Wilkins

Corporate fleet with 2k miles

Blue on white interiors

They are offering this to me for 58k OTD.

Is this a good price for a 2024? I see much cheaper options but they have have more miles and less options.

dealer fees are crazy, any tips besides just asking them to delete them?

working on a certified pre-owned i5 m60. there aren't a ton of these around so i'm working with a dealer a thousand miles away on the one i like.

in their first offer, they tacked on like $2500 in fees that seem mostly absurd.

Documentation Fee $1,298.00
Electronic Filing Fee $598.00
License Fee $450.00
PTA Fee $189.00

What do you think is reasonable to pay a bmw dealer for a cpo car in fees on top of sales tax?

How do you go about negotiating this with the sales manager?

Used BMW i5 deal check

Hi all,

I’m looking at a 2024 BMW i5 loaner with about 8k miles. It has DAPP and the Premium Package, finished in Oxide Grey Metallic. Asking price is $48k on the dealer website.

Curious what you all think — solid deal or should I keep shopping?

Lease deal check

Hey everyone - long time lurker about to sign a lease takeover for an 2026 i5 xDrive (DAPP, Premium Package). 5K miles (out of 36K) used, 27 months remaining for $620/month + taxes paid upfront ($1.5K) and DMV fees. Seems like a pretty good deal but wanted to get your thoughts. Thanks!

Hi everyone

Hi everyone,

I’m from Türkiye and I’m seriously considering buying a BMW i5 eDrive40. However, I’ve seen a lot of negative comments and videos online about issues such as drivetrain errors, electronic system malfunctions, and random software problems.

That’s why I wanted to ask people who actually own or use the car, especially those living abroad with more long-term experience.

Are you happy with your i5 overall?
Would you recommend buying it?
Have you experienced any major problems or reliability issues?

I’d really appreciate your honest opinions and experiences before making my decision. Thanks in advance.

Need to get new tires, saddened by lack of all season options

Need new tires on my i5 m60 with 19” wheels. Live in the northwestern US - not enough snow for winters, but too cold for summers all year so looking at all seasons.

I have the pilot sport a/s now and have been happy with them, but drive mostly on poorly maintained freeways so am looking for a smoother ride with a more touring focused tire like the primacy all season.

Dealer doesn’t offer it, though. I can get it from tirerack in the right size / ratings, but no “bmw star” mark.

Has anyone else run this tire on an i5? Would not being able to get star marked be a deal breaker?

Anyone Switch from iX to i5? Thoughts...

Hi All, iX lease coming to and end in October and contemplating switch to i5 (M60 if available) from iX M60. iX3 will be too small and I really like looks of i5 and am looking forward to detailing something other than the Black Sapphire paint I currently have which is tough to keep clean in the desert. To be clear... I love my iX M60 (after coming from X6M and 440i) and may just purchase it at lease end. I previously considered 550i and M5 in 2021, so I've liked sedans, particularly the M5. Curious of anything I might miss or be pleasantly pleased by in i5 other than ride height. Thank you

DAPP????

We have been in Honda and Toyota sedans every time we had a choice, because we are not

exactly car people ( though spouse drives at least 2 hours every work day) - we love reliability more.

How important is DAPP to people like us (non-car people)?

We left it too long, and now there are no used I5 s with DAPP in our area.

We are also considering new, but again, we left it too long.

I originally wanted DAPP because I hoped it would save our lives, and others, if we as drivers

had a seizure or syncope.

true? untrue?

any other reason to hold out for DAPP?????

Buying a used 2024 I5 M60 used and keeping for long term ownership

I have two cars with reasonable prices (neither CPO) near me. Both have executive package, DAPP etc.

Car 1 has a bit over 40k miles and priced right below $55k. This one actually also has DHP. But the dealer told me the guy who traded this in bought an M5 and usually gets M cars. I guess this car is driven pretty roughly based on the guy's profile. I don't exactly remember the estimated range shown on this but it was barely over 200 miles at full charge when I test drove it. This one has about 10 months or so warranty remaining.

Car 2 has almost 20k miles and priced at almost $58k. As I test drove it, rear shade motor was making some strange sound. Hopefully, that can be dealt within the warranty window. Not sure if BMW can deny warranty on that issue but I don't expect it to be a big deal. This was one was showing right around 200 miles range at 90% charge which seems a bit low but it has the 21" wheels. This car has about 22 months warranty remaining.

So few questions:

  1. Is it possible the estimated miles shown on these cars were pretty low because people drive them hard during the test drives? Or it's the expected battery wear during the first years of the car's life.
  2. Would you buy an I5 M60 to keep for long term?
  3. Which car would you get out of these 2?
  4. How is the reliability on these cars? I had a BMW IX and it was rock solid during the 25 months I owned it. The only issue was wind noise from the windows. I don't expect that with the style of windows 5 series has.
  5. How important is DHP? I could not drive enough to see the benefit of DHP in my test drives. There was no curvy road to throw the car around.

I presume if I buy one of these and decided to sell in a year or two, an astronomic depreciation is waiting for me (even though the biggest part probably already happened).

I do want to keep it for long term but the new BMW EVs coming up might change my mind in the upcoming years.

infuriating UI

Ok I love my i5 but the BMW UI makes me want to die. The graphics for the updates aren’t even scaled properly so they’re all pixelated lol.

What are everyone’s favorite bugs or bad UI they’ve encountered in their i5?

19 vs 30 vs 21 inch wheels vs comfort

I am considering a i5.
I have neverd owner any German car in the past.
Having a comfortable and soft ride is important for us.
How much does the ride quality (in terms of comfort, softness) impxt with default (19) vs 20 vs 21 inch wheels?

Considering eDrive or xDrive with M sports and professional package.

Just joined the club

just joined the club last night. picked up a demo M60 for 1500 down and 835/mo after tax and MSDs. Basically traded in my i7 I leased about one month ago. i7 is a vault but not very enjoyable especially when I’m driving alone 90% of the time. came from a Taycan which was totaled but. those are prohibitively expensive now. the M60 is very close

here’s the Leasehackr link and window sticker.

Charging with octopus in the UK

I'm on day 2 of owning my i5 saloon and I tried to charge it last night but Octopus failed for unspecified reasons. It just didn't charge, was just saying "preparing your juice" and did nothing. I have an Andersen A3 charger and on Octopus Intelligent Go tariff, I've had a discussion with Octopus today who are trying to help and I have now turned off Smart Charging in the Octopus App and leaving it to be governed by the car but this effectively means that I'm stuck with setting up a schedule in the car and missing our on cheap rates other than at night. Anyone else in the same position?

My wife has a Mercedes EQA (only for a week though) which seems to work ok with smart charge but I don't want to have to change settings etc depending upon which car is plugged in.

This is my first experience with any EV's so be gentle please!

All up Inside my M60 😀

My M60 with the extended Merino Leather with the Individual open-pored fine-wood trim w/ silver Bronze Inlay

Would like to either replace or wrap that center console with the (breathe on it and it scratches) piano black. Then I will be 100% happy.

Anyone replace it or wrap theirs? If so please share!

Hello! My new i5

Just picked up a new i5 xdrive40 M professional in Carbon Black Metallic eith Espresso Brown interior. Love it so far after two days. Just sold my Rivian R1S that I owned for only two months. After some seat time in it, there were some things that annoyed me so I sold it and picked this one up.

Glad to be back in a BMW after years away and look forward to learning from the community. Cheers🍻

M60 Carbon Trim

I know it may not be everyone’s cup of tea but we couldn’t stand the gloss trim anymore. The scratches, smudge, and glare on daily rising sun commutes were a bear.

Opted for true carbon fiber in a matte finish. Works well with the M60 interior’s sportier feel. The kit was pricey but authentic carbon fiber and paper thin. It was so perfectly cut that it installs as well as factory trim.

It did come with other pieces we opted not to install (sides of console and steering wheel trim). We just wanted to replace the largest areas of the gloss trim.

Happy to be here!

Thanks to all the sub members who shared their MSRP discounts! I managed to secure a 12% discount before any incentives were applied.

I’m excited to share that I’ve purchased a 2026 xDrive40 in Oxide Gray with an Espresso interior. It’s fully loaded with the m sport, DAPP, executive package, luxury seat, and more that I’m sure I’m missing.

The car is absolutely stunning, and I’m thoroughly enjoying the driving experience provided by the electric motors. As a first-time EV owner, I’m looking forward to the next three years of my lease.

I’m still in the process of learning about the car’s features and capabilities. Is there anything a new owner should be particularly aware of?

New App Version Charge Messages

Don’t know why the new app version is giving me this low power message. Car says I’m charging at 8kW just like always. 32A.

I like the old screen better with the large blue meter. This is not an improvement.
