Are High DA Backlinks Still Worth It in 2026?

I’ve spent years building relationships with high-authority blogs and websites for backlink outreach. Recently I organized a list of quality domains with strong authority metrics, real traffic, and niche relevance for guest posts and niche edits.

What I noticed is many businesses still buy random cheap links that don’t improve rankings at all. A relevant backlink from a trusted site still works much better for long-term SEO.

I’m curious — when choosing backlink opportunities, what matters more to you?

  • Domain authority?
  • Organic traffic?
  • Relevance?
  • Indexation speed?
  • Real business traffic/leads?

I personally focus more on relevance + real traffic instead of just metrics.

Is guest posting actually a good way to get backlinks?

I’ve been working in SEO for years and still see mixed opinions about guest posting. Some people say it’s outdated, while others still get solid rankings and traffic from it.

From my experience, guest posting works if done properly:

  • Relevant niche websites
  • Real traffic blogs
  • Natural anchor texts
  • Useful content for readers
  • Manual outreach instead of spam lists

What I noticed is many businesses buy cheap “500 guest posts” packages and then say backlinks don’t work. But quality placements on relevant sites still seem powerful for rankings, authority, and even leads.

For SEO experts here:

  • Are guest posts still part of your strategy in 2026?
  • What type of guest posts actually move rankings?
  • Do you focus more on niche edits or fresh guest posts?

Best GEO / AEO agencies you guys are actually seeing good results from in 2026?

Would like to know what people are using rn because honestly this whole AI search/AEO/GEO thing feels messy as hell Some people saying its just normal SEO with better structure. other people acting like traditional SEO is dead completely.

I run a small agency and couple clients started asking specifically about “AI visibility” after seeing their traffic drop from AI overviews and chatgpt/perplexity answers. Been researching agencies for this but hard to tell who actually knows what they’re doing vs who just changed “SEO” to “GEO” on their homepage last week lol

Names i keep seeing around: Omnius, Minuttia, Rubicly, Amsive, First Page Sage, GetCito

Not even looking for “guaranteed rankings” or any magic fix honestly. more kneen to know who is actually helping brands show up consistently in AI answers/citations/conversations.

Also wondering what people are prioritising more now: technical SEO, reddit/community mentions, digital PR, entity stuff, structured content?

One AI guru i talked to kept saying AI search is mostly about “brand association” now and not just rankings. didn't fully get it at first but after testing some prompts myself... kinda starting to make sense.

Would love some real opinions from people actually testing this stuff and not linkedin theorists 😅

Do you know how to find Niche Blogs for Backlinks ?

Many clients simply outsource their link-building work, but sometimes they buy list-based backlinks that are totally spammy and irrelevant to their website. These kinds of links don’t even move the needle in SEO.

Instead of using random marketplaces, hire a real link-building freelancer who can handle your backlinks in a legitimate and manual way.

I have more than 15 years of experience in SEO, and whenever clients contact me for an SEO audit, I often realize they wasted their money on cheap backlinks that provided no real benefit to their website rankings or traffic.

Quality backlinks from relevant blogs and websites always matter more than quantity.

If you want a quick SEO audit, feel free to comment here. I’ll do a FREE audit for selected websites.

Real SEO Experts Find Opportunities — Middlemen Ask for Lists

If your freelancer is asking for Guest Post sites in Facebook groups or social media communities, then most of the time they are not doing real outreach or real SEO research. They are acting like a middleman between you and random website sellers.

A real Link Building Expert knows how to find relevant blogs through search engines, manual research, competitor analysis, and niche outreach. That’s how quality backlinks are built in a legit and natural way.

Good backlinks are not about buying random links from public lists.

They are about:

• Finding niche-relevant websites

• Checking traffic and spam score

• Doing manual outreach

• Building contextual backlinks naturally

• Focusing on long-term SEO growth

Businesses should hire experts who understand real outreach and quality link acquisition, not people collecting cheap link lists from social media groups.

Quality backlinks = Better trust + Better rankings + Better leads.

How Are You Guys Doing Keyword Research for ChatGPT & AI Bots? Is There Any Tool for AI Search Volume?

I’ve been doing SEO for websites for years, so normally I use tools like:

  • Ahrefs
  • SEMrush
  • Ubersuggest
  • Google Keyword Planner

These tools are great for Google search volume.

But now traffic is slowly shifting toward AI tools like:

  • OpenAI’s ChatGPT
  • Google’s Gemini
  • Anthropic’s Claude
  • Perplexity AI

So now I’m trying to understand:

How do we actually do keyword research for AI chatbots?

For example:

  • What are people asking inside ChatGPT?
  • Which prompts/topics are trending?
  • Which industries are getting more AI searches?
  • What type of content do AI models prefer to cite?
  • Is there any “AI search volume” tool like Google keyword volume?

I found some people talking about:

  • “LLM SEO”
  • “GEO SEO”
  • “AI visibility optimization”

But most articles feel very generic.

What I really want is:
A tool or method that shows:

  • AI prompt trends
  • Questions people ask AI bots
  • Topic demand inside LLMs
  • AI search volume data
  • Prompt popularity

Something similar to Google Trends, but for AI searches.

Right now I’m checking:

  • Reddit discussions
  • People also ask
  • Perplexity suggestions
  • ChatGPT auto suggestions
  • Exploding Topics

But it still feels like guessing.

Are there any real tools available for this yet?

Or are you guys manually finding trends somehow?

Would love to know what’s actually working in 2026 for AI-focused keyword research.

What free & paid backlink strategies are actually working in 2026?

I’ve been digging into SEO lately and trying to separate what still works from what’s outdated.

Right now I’m mainly trying to understand:

  • What free backlink methods are still actually effective (not just “theory” like old Web 2.0 stuff)?
  • How much impact do things like GitHub Pages / Medium / Reddit mentions really have today?
  • And more importantly — what paid backlink strategies are actually worth the money?

For paid links specifically, I keep seeing a lot of options:

  • Guest posts (some say only niche-relevant ones matter now)
  • Niche edits / link insertions
  • Digital PR / HARO-style placements
  • Paid directory submissions (not sure if these are still useful)
  • “SEO marketplaces” (Fiverr, etc. — which seem risky)

But I’m not sure which of these are:

  • actually moving rankings in 2026
  • just DR vanity metrics
  • or potentially harmful if done wrong

Would love to hear from people who are actively doing SEO right now:

  • What are the highest ROI backlink methods you’re using today?
  • What’s completely dead but still being sold everywhere?
  • And is there anything underrated that people overlook?

Guest posts accepted with a live link to your blog

I started a book promotion website that also has a blog about books, reading, authors, etc. I do accept guest posts if they are literature-related, with a live link to your blog. Here's my site: https://en.books4.you/blog/

I would appreciate a link back, too :)
