Do we know or have guesses on who the mystery characters are??
I can’t wait to play the New Backyard Baseball Game on Console coming out 8/18/2026. Now we already have some of your classic games back on Steam and Apple/Android Devices and Original Baseball on Consoles.
My question is for all of you what games do you think they will release next of the original games and where will be the released?
A follow up question as well. What games do you think they won’t bother to bring back in that they don’t think might get a good audience to play or it might be really hard to bring back?
Or at least Benny “The Jet” Rodriguez. Who says no?
I randomized a roster for BYK players, after every season I'll eliminate the worst performing player according to the community. For an added twist I'm not revealing any player's names until after they're eliminated, so for the sake of comments the first player in the screenshot order is "player one", the second is "player two", so on so forth. Simply comment which player in the lineup you think is the worst, and vote for other comments who mention that player. Whichever player receives the most combined upvotes after 24 hours will be replaced with another random Backyard Kid, and the cycle repeats until we find the (theoretically) perfect Backyard Baseball team. Just for added context, I'm playing this on hard difficultly with pitch/swing location off and errors on. I try to play to each player's strengths, and I don't use batting powerups so all of the batting statistics are authentic.
The home stadium will also be different every season; this season was played at Cement Gardens.
The order of the players in the screenshot is randomized, so don't assume the same player will be in the same lineup slot season to season for the sake of voting. Angela Delvecchio was voted as the permanent pitcher in a previous season; she is Player Four in this screenshot, she is the only player exempt from being voted out.
Previously eliminated players: Gretchen Hasselhoff, Ronny Dobbs, Kenny Kawaguchi, Billy Jean Blackwood, Kimmy Eckman, Jocinda Smith, Annie Frazier, Lisa Crockett, Ricky Johnson, Dante Robinson, and both Webber twins. Who will join them?
This was not fun, which is a shame for the final Worst Football X Team. The worst catching team was fun with how they were so great at power running. The worst kicking team and worst muscle teams were fun with how bad they were. The worst passing, stats, and speed teams were fun, as it required actual work to win The Cereal Bowl with them. This was just a really repetitive team where it felt like the AI was trying to lose.
Dante was LB and QB. Pablo was DT, C, and KR, Luanne was RB. Maria was gunner, and she and Luanne split S. Kenny and Amir were WR and CB. Amir was K. Ronny was benchwarmer again. What kept happening is they kept trying these awful jet sweep and fullback run plays that always resulted in negative yards. On top of it whenever Pablo shed the block their QB constantly just stood there like a deer in the headlights. I wondered if it was just Pablo, so I benched him for the final meaningless game, and it still happened with Dante at DT. It happenned all the time when receivers like Stuart Sullivan were wide open.
3 times they underthrew a hocus pocus for a Kenny interception. On 3rd and long they constantly ran straight down the middle for a loss of 1. It just constantly felt like they were trying to lose.
This was very much a defensive dominant team. Sure if they actually threw it deep we were really vulnerable, but they normally just threw it behind the line over and over.
Offense was a huge problem. Pablo is a horrible Center, and I think he is worse than Ricky. Dante was getting wiped out all season. On top of that there was no go to receiver he could just throw it to. Our red zone offense was horrible, so most our points came from long touchdowns. At least Amir was a great blocking WR, so the outside handoff plays were great. Then they quit CB blitzing me, and Luanne lost several fumbles.
We finally beat the Ostriches, and it felt completely unearned. Stuart was constantly wide open and Drew would just stand there and take the sack. Then they randomly threw to Kenny to lose the game. He was not even covering anybody.
Our first play of the season was a pick 6 to Vicki. We still beat her team badly 3 times. Kenny had 1 hot game with 4 TDs and 4 interceptions.
We went 11-3 in regular season and 1-1 in playoffs. We beat the Monsters again and lost to the Dilllos/49ers. We would have played the Rockets in The Cereal Bowl and probably won. In the lost playoff game they actually played intelligently. Steve wiped out Amir as a receiver and Luanne as a runner. Kenny was a desperate throw. It resulted in a touchdown against Jerry and a game losing interception. The real problem is we lost 7 fumbles (most of them strip sacks) meaning they had a 8-1 turnover margin. The big play was Pablo was going to sack Steve for a safety, but he broke the sack and threw a 40 yard bomb.
>As you play, whether it be Backyard Derby, Season Mode, or Quick Play, you’ll earn various amounts of tokens. These tokens can then be exchanged for packs of baseball cards.
>Now, to be clear, these aren’t microtransaction purchases. Backyard Baseball is a game with zero microtransactions. Instead, everything you unlock and purchase in the game is earned through gameplay and nothing else.
>When you get enough Tokens, you’ll be able to buy a pack that features one of four types of cards across three categories—Aces, Speedsteers, and Sluggers. As you buy cards, they will be added to your card binder, each having unique writeups and voice lines.
fun news!
Did anyone catch the link for the Backyard Baseball popup store?
the new cards looks good
Something that I did not liked about the backyard Baseball games is how you get power ups for regular double and triple plays but never for strike a player out then throw the player out that caught stealing.that should count as a double play. I don't remember but did the 3D games after BB 2003 included power ups for turning a double play on a strike em out throw em out and will they include that in the new game?
With the World Cup in full swing, I was curious: what is everyone’s favorite version of Backyard Soccer — ‘98? MLS? ‘04? — and why?
