Thematic force

Hi, im building a firstborn badab era army and am struggling with how to build a thematic list / how to organize my units.

So i wanted to ask first of all, what edition do you play in / do you use for building your army?

What units do you include / are most on theme with mantis warriors?

I have been thinking of eiter building my list around 10th/11th edition units and proxying primaris units with firstborn bodies but more or less WYSIWYG loadouts.

Or using older editions units for army building and whenever i get to play with the army either playing older editions or proxying models with "wrong" loadouts.

I am using a lot of bits and kits to get some armor variation but im not realy sure what units i should be building other than the classic tacticals, land speeders and maybe scouts.

Im not shure how to add for example the tranquility II veteran snipers for example. Any other ideas for thematic units?

Loadout Question - 5th Edition

Hey all. I’m building a 5e Tyrant Legion army so we can just use the books as written. Do I want to put sponsons on my Leman Russes in this edition? They can move and fire their turret but I’m not sure it’s worth it to add sponsons they can’t move and shoot. Tips?

How to convert this armor

planning on recreating this when i get a chance. plan is just to frankenstein mkvi legs, a mkiii torso and mkv head together from tortuga bay. would love any suggestions on how to convert it better or where to source the shoulder pads.

We're there any chaos or renegade pirates that attacked during the badab war?

Seems like a perfect opportunity for the chaos forces to raid and or conquer while the maelstrom wardens were all distracted.
