hi everyone! as the title says i’m looking for affordable suggestions on where to ride horses in ensenada. i saw airbnb has something for 2 hours at $100 but that seems a little expensive… do you guys know any place there where we could go that is affordable and a fun experience?

Hey everyone! Looking for some advice/tips from experienced Baja road trippers.
My husband and I are driving from Southern California down to La Paz at the end of May with our dog. We’ll be crossing through Mexicali, stopping overnight in San Felipe on the way down, then continuing to La Paz the next day.
On the return, we plan to do one long driving day northbound, stop overnight again, then have a shorter/easier final day so we’re not exhausted crossing the border. We’ll be splitting the driving between both of us.
Would love any advice on:
Road conditions along the route
Any stretches to be extra cautious on
Tolls vs free roads
Military checkpoints and what to expect
Best gas stations/stops before long remote stretches
Safe bathroom/rest stops
Driving with a dog in Baja
Areas to avoid driving at night
Cell service/downloaded maps recommendations
Any must-know Baja road trip tips for first-timers doing the full peninsula drive
We’ve already done Ensenada/Valle with our dog and had a great experience, but this will be our first deep Baja road trip.

¡Hola a todos! Estamos buscando consejos/recomendaciones de personas con experiencia manejando por Baja.
Mi esposo y yo vamos a manejar desde el sur de California hasta La Paz a finales de mayo junto con nuestra perrita. Vamos a cruzar por Mexicali, pasar la noche en San Felipe y al siguiente día continuar hasta La Paz.
En el regreso pensamos hacer un día largo de manejo hacia el norte, dormir una noche más en el camino y después tener un último día más tranquilo para cruzar la frontera sin tanto cansancio. También vamos a compartir el manejo entre los dos.
Nos gustaría recibir consejos sobre:
Condiciones de las carreteras
Tramos donde debamos tener más cuidado
Casetas/cuotas vs carretera libre
Retenes militares y qué esperar
Mejores gasolineras antes de tramos largos/remotos
Lugares seguros para baños o descansos
Viajar con perro en Baja
Áreas donde no recomienden manejar de noche
Recomendaciones de señal/celular y mapas offline
Consejos importantes para personas haciendo este road trip por primera vez

We (2 adults and 2 kids - 9/6) are looking to spend a couple of days in La Paz (driving from Cabo) in July. Plan is to visit Isla Espíritu Santo and visits couple of beaches around (Playa Balandra) and spend rest of the time in the hotel. Would it be too much in terms of heat? Being from India, adults are used to the heat. Kids not so much.

I’m driving down to Ensenada from SD this weekend and deciding whether to come back Sunday or Monday, I don’t have sentri or global entry. Which day/time do you think would be less busy at the border crossing?! 🫠

I was at an ABnB and there were some vans that someone said was from a camping site. Harvest Host is a little expensive if I'm only camping a few times a year. Any other sites that might help find sites?

Que pedo raza, oigan nadie esta hablando de esto, me parece casi como MATRIX que nadie neta este haciendo ruido de esto, es un hecho que el registro de lineas telefonicas fue un fracaso, nadie se registro.

el tema es que el gobierno anda muy enserio con lo de desconectar las lineas, y ahora hasta a Whatsapp andan amezando con que no va funcionar cuando nos quiten la linea.

ahora mi pregunta es que app vamos a usar? he visto algunas como Signal, Sessions, Briar y SimpleX

Signal es un nono, porque ocupa numero telefonico [una estupidez ya que fue creado para ser una solucion privada a whatsapp]

Sessions lamentablemente cerrara el 8 de julio jajajaja me voy a caer de risa si la empiezan a recomendar el 30 de junio y pal 8 de julio SHUTDOWN a la verga.

Briar y SimpleX son opciones interesantes pero se sienten algo tecnicamente completas, no creo que sea mas dificil que usar Telegram, pero definitivamente no son tan intuitivas.

personalmente me gusta mas Briar porque crear un username y password, pero no hay 2FA, lo cual me da pena, ya que el 2FA es muy importante, SimpleX no pide nada, solo creas un username y ya, no se como se supone puede ser segura si no te pide crear un password ni nada.

bueno apenas las ando empezando a usar, se la planeo enviar a mis amigos primero para probar un poquillo y posteriormente se las quiero recomendar a mis clientes.

Missed the office and drove right through. Someone in a previous thread said:

> if you do miss it in the flurry of being inspected or just waved through like we were, you can turn right at the next street/driveway that wraps around in front of a strip mall like building. You can park there and walk back to the building with the immigration desk for FMMs. We did, and we were not alone. The building is not well marked and if you don't know that's where you need to be, it is easy to miss. 

Came in tired last night after a gruelling 14-hour drive, missed it, resolved to come back in daylight. Any advice? Staring at the map in satellite view right now. I think I found the wrap-around street, but any further details would be greatly appreciated.

We dumbingly entertained a sales person working for Vida Vacations at the SJD airport. He was offering tours at a “discounted rate” and as new travellers, we believed him. We payed him about $200 cash. We already regret it and now know that it was a bad decision. Please don’t be mean to us. My partner and I are both naive and wants to believe in the good of people. This however might be a really hard life lesson to learn…

At the end, he offered a free breakfast at Vidanta hotel. After reading the fine lines, we saw that the breakfast includes 90 minutes of presentation afterwards.

Should we trust the guy and go to the breakfast in hopes that he will give us tickets to our tours? Or is everything just a scam? Did anyone successfully get their tours with this kind of process?

I’ve been trying to buy fishing license for the past year since mine expired. I went to the site that I normally buy it from: sportfishing.Baja California.gob.mx but it appears the website keeps showing site is under maintenance. Anybody know a solution? Thank you

Desde que cumplí 18 años tarde como 2 años en descubrir lo que era la RFC porque no tenía ni idea de su existencia, luego tardé otro más en convencer a mi familia de que era necesario que yo lo hiciera porque según ellos tenía que hacerlo nada más un empresario y no una persona normal.

Ya este año lo conseguí por fin, ya tengo mi rfc y me falta trabajar pero no sé buscar trabajo, ahí sí puedo entrarme consejos lo agradecería mucho.

Pero el punto es que mi tío materno, básicamente mi figura paterna y esposo de mi tía, no quiere que trabaje, me dice que es muy peligroso y asta me dijo que mi mamá me está obligando a trabajar y le dije que no, que yo le dije incluso antes de que ella empezará bromear con que cuando voy a trabajar y siguió con lo mismo.

No me gusta contestarle por qué toda mi vida a sido amable conmigo pero estoy estresada, no sé qué hacer por qué quiero tener experiencia, me da miedo ser una inútil mantenida toda la vida y morir sola y vieja sin ningún logro en la vida pero se que no lo entenderá.
