I’m transferring to Ball State as a junior and I know nobody there. I feel like most people probably already have their friend groups, and I’m also living in an apartment instead of the dorms, so I’m worried it’ll be harder to meet people.
I move in soon and honestly have zero plans. I’m afraid once school starts I’ll just go to class, study, go back to my apartment, and doomscroll the rest of the day.
I want to make friends and actually do stuff, but I don’t drink or party. I already plan on joining clubs, so besides that, what are the best ways to meet people? Any good campus events, intramurals, places to hang out, study groups, jobs, or other things?
Also, what do you guys do to stay productive and not just sit in your room all day?
I can’t find it this year. Are they just not teaching it this year? And if so how can I tell when they will teach it again? Specifically next year and the one after that? I really want to learn but have trouble without a teacher. I see they have Korean, and that would def be my next choice, but I wanna learn Japanese so much more, and I come from a small school with only Spanish, so I would come in new.
Hello! I’m a first year student here. I brought my pc with me. I am having troubles connecting it to the wifi. I have my ethernet plugged into the port in my room and I also registered my device through the mydevices, although I still don’t have internet connection. Is there anything else I can do to fix this?
Hey all. I spent the offseason building a full 2026 preseason preview for every FBS team, each with its own writeup. Here's the Ball State one
https://www.sports.mainmarket.com/college-football-preview-2026-fbs/ball-state-cardinals
It's got the returning production breakdown, the portal ins and outs, a projected two-deep, the schedule with model win probabilities, and a season projection.
Heads up, you might hit the paywall after the first page. Don't worry, I'm not charging reddit people for this, don't want to be an ass. Use the promo code LEECORSOROCKS and it opens up the entire thing.
So, what'd I get wrong? Ball State's offense finished 136th out of 136 in success rate, dead last in the country, and gave up 49 sacks. But in MAC play you got outgained by 135 yards a game and still won 37.5% of those games, so my model thinks 4-8 flattered you. Now 13% of the production is back and both the linebacker room and the secondary lose all six of their top tacklers. My model has you at 4-8 again. Is the 38th-ranked explosiveness real, or garbage time?
I'll be in the comments.
Title. I know what the parking emails say, but exactly how important is it to not park in the housing lots overnight? This is just my first year having a car here so I wanted to know.
Edit: I'm more asking if it is super necessary to park at Scheumann during move-in week or can I just leave my car in the housing lot and be fine.
Hey guys so I just moved into a Schiedler apartment, and I am really struggling connecting to the wifi. The “mydevices.bsu.edu” page absolutely doesn’t work for me, as safari will not open it. I’m just needing to register my electronics so I can then be able to see the option for “bsuconnect” and “eduroam”. Any suggestions or ideas? Thanks!!
Was checking to see my E bill and to make sure my financial aid went through. The tuition got a pass but I saw this statement and it wants me to pay out of pocket. I was surprised to see this and obviously I can’t afford to just pay 4k. Does anyone know what to do?
I am starting my graduate program this fall, and I am currently apartment hunting, and it is tiring. My budget is 900 to 1000 for both rent, electricity, and all utilities. Anyone know what apartment i can start looking into?
Hello, I'm very aware this is last minute but I might as well shoot my shot.
Im arriving in ball state end of August and need a place to rent for next semester.
I'm fine sharing a place with roommates or having my own lease.
Please send any information
Ty in advance
That’s just the question.
I want to bring my own chair and I don’t really think that I’m going to want to have my dorm chair in the dorm. Is there anywhere that they allow you to put it?
Anybody ever have luck with getting off the parking permit waitlist? The parking garage closest to my classes is full and so I got on the waitlist today around 2pm (four hours after it opened). Anyone have any idea what my chances of getting off the waitlist are?
I moved in this week and have seen the biggest spider I’ve ever seen in my life. Twice now. (Two different ones, the first one was killed).
I know it’s dramatic/irrational but I’m terrified of spiders and I’m almost starting to regret moving here...
I’d really appreciate it if anyone who has lived in/currently lives in Scheidler could tell me if this has never happened to you. If it’s just a super random thing—and a fluke that it’s happened twice already—then I think I can relax. Except for the fact that the one I found today is still in my apartment under a cup, but besides that.
Or, if this is just something that happens here, please lmk so I can start moving back out (jk… maybe).
I will be a commuter and a transfer this year and need to purchase a parking pass. I have Chemistry in the Science building and Math in the Bracken Libary. Which garage or area would be the purchase for me?
I was going to move into University Village today, but as I walked into my room there were stains, mold, and a foul odor that was hard to escape. We were lucky enough to break the lease, but now I need a new place to live before the school year starts…. What are some good leasing companies that are safe, pet-friendly, and also do a good/consistent job with roommate matching?
