Banadir 34 update

I updated my original post but felt this needed its own. While 34 is so dang close to the OG, silver mountain water, I only get about 4-5 hours before it’s completely gone from my skin, and my skin holds scents extremely well. Either way the OG, It projects much better and lasts much longer, about 3 more hours on my skin and even longer on clothes. I know fabric holds scents longer. But 34 didn’t even do that. Has anyone else had this experience?

Question about inky note in Silver Mountain Water - 34

Hey Everyone, question for the group:

Is there any inky note in Banadir's take on SMW?

I haven't gotten my nose on Banadir's SMW but I have tried the OG and Montagne's version and wasn't a big fan of the inky note on those. Was wondering if the Banadir version has that or if it bypassed it all together.

Appreciate any input/feedback. Thank you!

Banadir 40

Does anybody else get the heavy incensey base smell from 40 that’s really similar to the middle eastern incensey smell. I have bleu talisman from Monty and the top notes are really similar but their base smells clean and not similar with 40 at all.

Tonight’s scent

This tasty mfff’s been brewing for 3 months now.

Oooooo lawd has it gotten even BETTER. Was an immediate banger from day 1, not a single whiff of alcohol, synthetic cheapness, or deviation from OG. Somehow it’s gotten even better.

100ML order has been placed, can’t wait for the fall and winter with this one.

Winter Recommendations

Any good Ban winter recommendations? Currently have 3 Banadir colognes. Ban (01) Aventus Absolute, Ban (26) L’mmensite, Ban (110) BDC L’xclusif. Banadir quality is top notch. I’ve tried many other ME clones and they don’t compare to Banadir. Looking to buy a winter cologne so it can macerate before fall/winter arrives. Not a huge fan of leather but willing to give it a try. Thanks in advance.

Banadir 40

I got my 10 ml decant of Banadir40 after reading claims that it’s a near match for Blue Talisman. Scent-wise, it’s pretty spot on. That part really matches the reviews. The catch is performance. On my skin, projection is basically nonexistent and there’s no real sillage. I even tried on my clothes. Even after a week or two of wear, nobody’s noticed unless they’re right up close. My girlfriend couldn’t smell it from a few feet away, though she liked it when she leaned in. I am not sure if it needs more maceration.
If you want a close, personal scent and love the Blue Talisman profile, it’s a solid pick. But it won’t fill a room.

10 – Pacific Chill (Louis Vuitton)

12 – Baccarat Rouge 540 (Maison Francis Kurkdjian)

26 – L’Immensité (Louis Vuitton)

28 – Stellar Times (Louis Vuitton)

40 – Blue Talisman (Ex Nihilo)

89 – Sedley (Parfums de Marly)

Or someone else? Thanks

Banadir 87

I recently got hands on sample of tobacco Vanille dupe of Banadir from someone. I have put it for maceration until fall lol but initial thoughts are when I sprayed that it is heavy projection scent with giving me lot of tobacco and spices for first couple mins then it turns to mix of what i tobacco, vanilla, tonka beans and you get hints of cinnamon very frequently may be its just me, it dries down to a woody scent and its beautiful. Since i am into dark fragrances and have ombre leather and different Ouds - talking about real Oud fragrances for years, that could be unpleasant to some. Its not a safe blind buy so better sample it first, I don’t nt know as I have not put my nose on OG from Tom Ford but Banadir did a good job on this one as well and it would be a beast in fall and winter in terms of projection and longevity.

I am trying town and country, Matsukita from clive christian and Amouage - decision this weekend and will share my thoughts on those.

[Not Banadir] Testing Sultani from Arabian Oud

Wassup Everyone!

I think its awesome that Banadir offers 10ml decants of other Middle Eastern fragrances from different brands that might not be exposed to outside of the typical Rasasi and Lattafa stuff. Up until a couple months ago, I had not heard of Arabian Oud but it looks like its a higher tier company that legit makes high quality fragrances and are actually well regarded amongst the actual Middle Eastern community and fragrance enthusiasts alike. Arabian Oud is behind a lot of heavy hitters like Amiri, Sultani, Nobles, and Ramz.

A buddy of ours (and fellow Banadir enthusiast) recommended I check out Sultani. Up until this time, I had not had a chance to smell anything from the house yet and I couldn't find any decanters on reddit that had it in stock. The solution: I reached out to Salim Bhai and he was kind enough to stock up 10ml decants of Sultani. (Thank you, Salim!)

What's the fragrance like?

Sultani is one of those nice, clean, sober scents. No boozy or gourmand elements in there. It coms off fresh and clean. For some reason I get a little leather in the background but nothing overpowering. Im thinking the leather might actually be the berry note. Also - the fragrance is kinda musky. It has this elevated take on Bvlgari Pour Homme going on. Also kinda get a small tinge of screechiness that was present in the early releases of Dior Sauvage EDT - minus the lavendar. The screechiness of not overpowering or anything but its there and my nose can sense it - I wonder if its the pink pepper?

I do find myself going noseblind to it and after an hour it wears more like a skin scent. I wonder if I just need to spend more time with it since I just got it the other day. YMMV. There's been a lot of times that I didn't like a particular fragrance only for it to grow on me over time.

Who's wearing this fragrance?

Someone that can afford shelling out $100 for a 50ml and appreciates smelling different from others. Its a clean fragrance and its definitely different from the Sauvages and Valentinos of the world. Its not syrupy or cloying. There no overbearing sweetness or booziness. Clean and sober. That's what you're getting with this. Plus its unique enough to where it stands out but also hands the keys over to you on how you wear the fragrance. If you command respect at your workplace, this can help you feel confident in it while wearing it. But if you're casual or enjoy fun loving time casually with the friends or family - this really isn't it and there might be more fun options depending on your personality.

Buy it, Skip it, Sample it?

Definitely worth a sample. Really glad Banadir offers a 10ml of this and hope they continue to do decants of other brands because its something that's hard to find in a marketplace saturated with Rasasis and Lattafas.

Hope you guys enjoyed reading and found this informative. Thanks for sticking around and reading through it!

SOTD - Flamango by Third Eye Fragrance

Banadir family, as mentioned, I of course love the Banadir focused material - but genuinely love to see all things fragrance posted / spoken about.

Received my Third Eye Discovery set yesterday, testing Flamango out today. Holy smokes, this BLOWS LVs Afternoon Swim out of the water.

I’ll draft up a detailed review soon, but what I’m immediately noticing with this versus LV Af Swim - the Third Eye Flamango has this beautiful added ZING that I’m beyond enjoying. The opening has much more strength and depth with the added pink grapefruit and passion fruit (on top of the orange, ginger, and mango). Deep in the background if you really search for it, the neroli and lemon bring out the tiniest “sun screen” vibe, reminding me of TF Neroli Portofino (one of my favorite 30 min scents) - but again, way hidden, and just adding to all the top notes.

I haven’t gotten deep into the dry down yet so I’ll be searching for those sandalwood, cedar, and sea salt notes, and how it all ties in.

Blended beautifully, this scent legit makes my mouth water and even though it’s not cheap, I think full bottle worthy.
