is it just me who gets like super emotional getting back into that yearly phase where i constantly replay the early 2000 barbie songs?? i swear the singers were working overtime because why are the songs SO majestical
specifically the songs:
- believe
- rapunzel theme song
- shine
- i need to know duet
- right here in my arms
I don’t know, they just seemed much cuter that way. When they went back to normal, they kind of looked a bit ugly to me.
This was the first Barbie animated movie I had on DVD as a kid. I watched it all the time. This movie would make me laugh, help me fall asleep, and lowkey made me wish I could be in a Barbie film, lol.
I never got rid of it. 💖
First off, this sub is really cute, and I like the vibes here!
"Magic of Pegasus" is a film I watched for the first time during quarantine in my teens, but I enjoyed a lot. I loved the aesthetics, color palette, characters, and the storyline. I wish I owned the AA versions of the dolls from this movie. Second place for my ultimate favorite film would definitely be "Princess and the Pauper".
My fave song from PatP is "Written In Your Heart" (the duet version with Anneliese and Erika)! Second favorite song from the film would have to be "I'm On My Way".
Little fun fact, but I was obsessed with "A Fashion Fairytale" when it was released. I have no idea how many times my mother rented that movie on Redbox for me. For Christmas that year, I got the main dolls: Barbie, Ken, Alice, and the Flairies (they got glitter everywhere), the Glitterizer, and a book relating to the film. Little me loved this movie! 😭
Now, "Barbie and the Three Musketeers" is another underrated film that I'd put in the same category next to "Rock 'n Royals"! It's a great movie, with a nice message, and the last animated Barbie film of the 2000s.
"On Top of the World" from PCS is the best song in the soundtrack.
I'll end this off by saying that "Queen of the Waves" is a bop, lol.
I always loved King Dominick the most. He was probably my first crush ever lol. I like how he let Erika live her dream and waited for her. They're probably my favourite Barbie couple. I like how he's the only King love interest too and not a prince loll. Also, as much as I like Julian as a character in this movie his romance with his own student is a bit weird. I also really loved Derek from 12 dancing princesses and Antonio from the island princess
…does anyone have any advice on how to fix my Fantasy Tales Erika’s dress?
There’s holes in the tulle, so I was trying to fix it at school, but both wore myself out trying to get thread in a needle (my threader broke because I pulled it too hard) and I ended up making the holes worse…
Any advice on how to fix this?
The first verse is there, but after the chorus it just plays the backing track for a very long time where the next verses should be, with the melody only coming back again with the choruses. There are two more verses that are just missing, not cut out but holes in the song that are incredibly noticable. Why is that?
I just want to ask Mattel "why??!!"
Coral and Anemone are so pretty! I wish they had used their designs for main characters!
So we know that all the Barbie and Ken dolls Mattel makes live in Barbieland. Dolls from the movies must be around, right?
In my headcanon there is a neighborhood in which only the movie dolls live in their castles and go around in their carriages, fly or swim (fairies and mermaids). The neighborhood is considered "high class", they are very private and don't realy get involved in the Barbieland politics. This is also the only place where Barbies and Kens are equals and have genioune romantic relationships like in their respective movies. That's becouse their stories "influenced" them in a different way then the other dolls. That's the reason they weren't effected or involved when Ken took over. They also don't call each other "Barbie" and "Ken", they all go by their movie names.
Why did Barbie have a hard shift in art style for this one movie (looks like a DS game) and then *never* again? Even as a child I was not a fan of the art, but I did like the actual plot. I feel like this movie is seldom discussed when Barbie movies are brought up.
For me, I’m searching for the Fairytopia Gold Label Elina doll, and both Brietta dolls from Magic of Pegasus!
They perfectly capture the story’s high drama, striking landscapes, fantastical set pieces, and fun sense of adventure. We’re lucky we got so many of them! The authentic emotional connections aren’t forgotten either. Such a special set of stills for a uniquely magnificent film✨
If it's blank i couldn't think of any.
Ask me any questions, but please be nice.
Welcome to the official rewatch discussion thread for Barbie and her Sisters in A Pony Tale (2013)!
In honor of the official Barbie account posting it on Youtube for free, I hope this gives everyone a chance to revisit the film or watch for the first time.
Summary:
Barbie and her sisters set off on a Swiss adventure to the majestic Alps, where they're excited to spend the summer at a fun filled riding academy! Barbie can't wait to find a new horse to bring back to Malibu. Stacie is super excited to prove she's an amazing equestrian. All Chelsea wants to do is ride the big horses, and Skipper's more interested in writing about the great outdoors than experiencing it. The sisters' vacation gets off to a rocky start, but when Barbie discovers a mysterious wild horse in the woods, their visit becomes truly magical.
