Sant Joan celebration questions

We will be in Barcelona during the time this celebration happens. My friend isn’t a fan of loud noises (I’m deaf so I’m ok as I can only hear a tiny bit) and is reading almost horror stories about how awful this celebration is and it’s causing her to panic. So I’m hoping people here who have seen it before can explain what to expect.

Google is saying that fireworks are set off throughout the night. That fire crackers are released by teens and in crowded areas. Our hotel is a 5 minute walk from the Arc de triomf to the east of it, so not near the beaches and the closest bonfire party I can find is the park by the arc de triomf- so not directly by our hotel.

Our plan for this day (the 23rd) had been casa Batllo in the afternoon and then dinner at a restaurant nearby. We read some places shut early but from I can see this isn’t the case for casa Batllo and our restaurant we have planned is open that evening too. If it gets too crowded/ noisy, we will go back to the hotel and order take away. I’m a wheelchair user and she is also concerned that Google is saying to wear closed toed shoes as there is broken glass on the floors. I’m assuming this is a small risk and more for the beach? There isn’t much I can do as I can’t walk so need my wheelchair.

Also the following day, Google again says that the streets are like a ghost town until the afternoon? Is this true? I find it hard to believe that a busy tourist city like Barcelona will be a ghost town until the afternoon? Our plan that day is the Montjuic funicular in the morning and then the Nova Lcaria beach in the afternoon. Will the beach have recovered by then? Google says it’s a no go zone in the morning/ lunch time due to rubbish and clean up operations?

Basically I’m hoping people who know Barcelona can put her/ our minds at ease that Google is explaining the worst case scenario on what to expect and that unless we go into the beach/ areas where planned street parties/ bonfires are- we will be ok? That she won’t be kept up all night by continuous fireworks and fire crackers. That our plans for the 24th are still fine and that we can go back to looking forward to our holiday. My friend has gone from looking forward to it to stressing about this festival and worrying that it will ruin our holiday.
