We adopted a bully mixed with Bassett hound.

I had 24 yrs of Rottweilers and I just loved the breed so much due to all the hiking and welp tons of exercise.
We moved out of state and sad part is our elderly girl (12. 1/2 yrs old) we had to say goodbye to only one month after we moved in. Cancer is something in these dogs.
We always talked about adopting and giving an unwanted dog the bestest life.
I was so sad and welp know zero ppl, after a month and a half hubby said go find a dog. I saw this boy and he looked so funny. Had a huge head in a short body. The markings reminded me of a rottie puppy lol like a permanent 6 month old. I already had the paperwork in for all my experiences due to there was a rottie and welp she was already adopted yup I cried but I went and met this boy and I think we both just fell for each other.
He had tons of issues but I told him we are conquering as much as we can and now he loves saying hi to anyone and almost everyone. He is more confident and more relaxed. He’s a huge cuddle bug and a professional sleeper!!!!
Now it’s 10 months and realizing how he’s not really very active. Don’t know if it’s due to heat or because he’s just tired of the long weekend - we hit the beach and this time we walked a tad and set our chairs up and chilled out. But Monday he slept all day basically. He’s approximately now 6 yrs old (they told me he was about 5 yrs old and have his birthday in July to make him almost 6 now)
I now he’s an middle age old man but thinking he’d still be wanting to walk which he’s not a dog for distance and why when I got him lol I got a dog stroller due to such but he walked over an hour after a few months of having him but now it’s like he just wants to walk to sniff and do his business and he wants to go home. Not always but many times.
This guy I fell in love with from the start and he’s super clingy with low energy. That’s something I need to talk to the vet with due to I want him to be as happy as possible but the sleeping for so long has me, at times, worried.
Told hubby that after this guy I need to truly look at the breed that is more active (it’s how I also get my exercise too) Hank is my world and maybe he’s just having to recoup from doing too much as in we have a place on inside fleamarket where Hank is with us all weekend long and than we hit the beach one day and the next he goes home while we go shopping. He has a following that comes and asks to pet Hank and we leave it up to him if he wants to socialize. He does for the most part.

My actual question is does anyone walk this breed every day or a few times a week or what? The bully in him and he’s short lol. I call him half pint and he’s 78 pounds ( when I got him he was 54 pounds and welp you could see his spine and ribs very clearly) which vet said is good for him due to Bassett hound.

Gonna research cause he was doing good and now it’s like he needs a day or so of rest and there’s times he doesn’t want to do anything. I don’t know if we are over doing it or he might be bored. Yes ask vet and they said to walk him. I try to find new places for him to explore but being new to this area it’s not so easy to find such cause I even get bored of same old same old lol.
And yes the heat can cause such also it’s why I go later on in early evening or maybe I need to change up the times so he might be more active too.

See having Rotties - used to the go go go go and they nappy and wake up to wrestle or play for hours and they pass out and it’s chill time. This guy is like a sac of taters lol :) he’s great for tv watching and snuggling for the most part. I just want to make sure he has the best life. So how much does one walk their bassetthounds and or bully breed and he is like a pocket bully at least that’s what ppl say.
