Let's play the "guess which Secret 7 is Hope for the Future" Game! I'm only part way in but I'll go first....

I'm thinking #68, seems hopeful and all, right?

I wish that I didn't listen to so many one hit wonders

I mean, Bastille isn't really, but I also listen to The Rare Occasions, Stomach Book, AJR and a little bit of Cafune. I don't want to call Bastille a one hit wonder, and that isnt entirely fair, but these stats....

Dan Smith, your favourite history teacher?

(Yes I did that, maybe we can have a full school staff soon 😁)

As I‘m listening a podcast about McCarthyism recommended by a friend, I’m just thinking about the past few years and Dan’s side projects and all the things I’ve learned from that.

Between & and now that new project being revealed in full very soon (I presume), I’ve been reading and listening and watching things about so many subjects i wouldn‘t even have thought about before. And I’m grateful for all this knowledge.

I think his way of approaching his work, and mostly using events and people to write songs makes for a very interesting experience and I do hope people also get curious about the things he writes about (if they are not already familiar with them).

The Muses podcast was such a great way to lean on that aspect of & and to get us engaged.

I do hope he keeps on taking us on journeys like this. Cause I really really enjoy it.

I do like listening to good music and feeling like I’m getting a bit smarter by doing it.

Is anybody else also enjoying that as much as I do? 😁

The Misfits Together - What’s your America? (Dan & Ralph)

https://www.instagram.com/themisfitstogether

So yesterday, after that IG account that appeared a few days ago posted yet a new reel, I spent a while perusing the content they posted , reading the captions and stuff and trying to think about what all that means.

I do think The Misfits Together is either the name of the project or the name of a band/collective/group of people that Dan & Ralph created for this (no confusing Bastille presents this time. And no need to use their name directly).
The lyrics/song they have “promoted” for now also heavily lean on this two words.
There is a website at the URL themisfitstogether.com that has been “created” around April. Right now, there is nothing but a page about the company who’s in charge of the domain, Safename.
Safename is a company helping brands securing their stuff on the internet.
Turns out EMI.com use the same company (currently redirect towards the universalmusic website).
So EMI being the label Dan/Bastille works with that would make sense that they use the same tools.
If they went into the trouble of securing that, surely it’s important, right?
Also points towards the IG account being legit and Dan’s involvement cause I don’t think Ralph is signed anywhere so EMI being involved would be weird.
The IG account was created in December last year, they have been planning that for a while!

As for “What’s Your America?”, I wonder if this points to the name of the song used on that page. It’s the same of the sound on both TikTok (they are also in there) and IG.
Also could work based on the lyrics.
Or maybe once again, it’s the name of the whole thing. Or both.
I was also wondering if each video/caption points at some lyrics from the whole track.

I could see this as an introduction for a project on American history/evolution (how did we get here type of stuff?), but maybe each song being like a portrait or a significant event?
Not clear on this one!

Dan & Ralph did say it was different from anything they have done until, I’m really curious and pretty excited for the big reveal 😁

What do you think?

Does anyone else miss the alt/indie rock albums?

i don't really want to sound like a "I miss the OLD bastille" person because I like all their albums, but im listening to wild world atm and I do miss the kind of soft rock they used to do. i like ampersand but im not like, in LOVE with it like I am with the first 3 albums or so.

do you guys hope for another soft rock album? or do you prefer the ampersand direction?

Searching for The Universe Within Live Pompeii version

Hi all,

As you know, in 2021, the guys held a live concert on YouTube untitled "The Universe Within". For a time it was available to rewatch on YouTube and I remember really liking the Pompeii part. I was looking for it on YouTube but it seems like they deleted it :(

Does anyone happen to have a version of it saved somewhere? I'd really like to hear it again.

Thanks much!

Have a good day :)

if you HAD to delete every Bastille album from existence and only keep one, which would it be?

'The Universe Within' Full Audio :)

Howdy! The 2021 livestream 'The Universe Within ∞ A Live Experience' has been ever elusive. After some attempts to upload the full stream to YouTube for easy viewing pleasure, I threw in the towel once the video was immediately blocked due to copyright claims. However, I figured I could still upload just the audio ... right?

Well, that's exactly what I've done. I've uploaded all the songs individually AS WELL AS the full stream audio with all the voiceovers and talking. I even put them in a handy dandy playlist.

  1. Full Stream Audio
  2. Distorted Light Beam
  3. Give Me the Future
  4. No Bad Days
  5. Thelma + Louise
  6. Pompeii

Enjoy! :)

Change of lineup for the Margate show

For anyone going to the Margate show, if you hadn’t seen, they changed one of the support acts.
Used to be Orla Gartland & Alfie Templeman but they swapped Alfie Templeman for Only The Poets.
I don’t think this was announced anywhere, but one of my friend follow Only The Poet on IG and that’s where she noticed it 🙂

If you go to the other shows and are interested in one of the support, maybe it’s worth checking if anything has changed too!
