can't take the struggle with custom animation and mamodels anymore [Rant in the post below]
Hey guys, I wanted to open up and vent a bit here on the community Reddit. I'd like to pour out all my frustration in this post and ask for some help.
I feel so alone. I've been trying to animate, mess around with custom animations, and even work with spritesheets or mamodels. I joined the community Discord yesterday and noticed it's more active over there, but there are barely any proper tutorials—they are incredibly scarce. People in the community seem pretty close; they are always hanging out in voice channels (VC) or chatting away. I also saw some really good suggestions there, but I just need to open my heart and get this off my chest
I feel like for us foreigners, or anyone who doesn't speak English and unfortunately has to rely on a translator, it's extremely hard to learn how to customize enemies. Personally, I really struggle to understand how Parents work in Mamodel, and I have a terribly hard time dealing with custom animations. For people who are used to BCU and already know English, learning is a breeze—they can just jump into a voice call, ask for help, and it's sorted out
But for me, being from another country, not knowing how to speak or pronounce English, and relying heavily on translators to read posts here on Reddit... I really need help. I feel lonely and left out. BCU has been around for over 6 years, and yet there isn't a single decent tutorial that makes us feel welcome or actually helps us. BCU is hard, the language barrier makes it way worse, and the Discord server not having a dedicated tutorial just ruins it for those of us who don't understand English💔
I just wish someone could help me and guide me on what I should do....
I've seen enough posts about this, already deleted some already locked a few others.
You are free to ask for help about animating, and sharing tutorials you find on the internet/you made. But some recent posts about this drama do not help anyone but stir the pot and cause further drama. So I will be removing any further posts that would fall under "stirring the pot".

I discovered BCU through Darryl's Unhappy packs, and I’ve always found it incredible how well-animated the enemies are—not just his, but many others I've seen. It made me want to try to create an enemy of my own for the first time. However, being Brazilian, I struggle immensely with English (I use a translator to communicate, just like many others in the community).
The thing is, I don't even know where to start. I recently learned how to work with spritesheets from a tutorial, but I don't know how to animate. I don't know how to use MaModels, I don't understand how parents work, or anything like that. I thought that if I asked for help using one of Darryl’s enemies as an example, someone might guide me or give me some advice. I’ve always had a hard time reading the server's tutorials because I don't understand English and have to rely on translators.
Because of this, I became a joke in the community—I even saw a comment from Darryl himself, which really discouraged me since he’s my main inspiration. I want to apologize for the misunderstanding; it truly wasn't my intention. I never wanted to copy anything. I just wanted help to learn how to animate and create spritesheets properly...
The screenshots above make it crystal clear that the person is actually asking for help to customize an enemy using Darryl’s as inspiration, not to copy it. They even explicitly mention in parentheses that they are Brazilian and don't understand much English. Instead of the community coming together to help new users like them, the only thing people do is share the Reddit post in the chat to mock them instead of actually offering a hand.
Always try to understand how things actually work. Not every new user wants to copy existing enemies from your packs; they want help. BCU has a difficult interface, and new users struggle immensely. Existing tutorials don't explain things properly for those who don't understand English. For new users from other countries who speak languages other than English, they depend on visual tutorials. If the community judges people like this or refuses to offer real help just because they assume people will 'copy enemies,' then the community is far more divided than it seems.
New users need help. Current tutorials aren't very clear, and as I saw in a post the other day, the BCU interface is already extremely difficult for newcomers to learn on their own—and the available tutorial is 3 years old. Don't forget, guys: BCU isn't just used by English speakers; there are people from other countries too. Instead of judging, try to welcome these people. They need help much more than you imagine.
