I am in the following situation: I own a Behringer DeepMind 12, that lately has had its effect processor fried from a current surge. I was considering selling it for parts but I like the patches I've built through the years, and I appreciate a Juno-style synth for the kind of music I make lately. I know the effects in Deepmind are making up for most of its flaws and are highly praised, but I never liked the FX interface and menu diving.

I also have a few things laying around that I haven't used for a while, namely the digitech Nautila and Ventura pedals, which have a nice sound and a good form factor. Between the two I seem to cover modulation well, so I am missing time-based stuff. The downside is that if I use them, I'd need to set up a small pedalboard with at least one or two more pedals (for example the Obscura and Polara), which is a bit of a hassle.

I also have a mini-pedalboard set up, with the HX Stomp, a specular tempus and the roland SH01A, which I handle as a 4-voice mini synth setup with an AKAI midi controller. I therefore hesitate to break this setup up, even though it now all feels kinda overlapping and redundant.

With all this in mind, I thought that a little multi-fx unit would probably be the best approach, and I could go ahead and sell the digitech pedals.

With all this context, what's your take?

Does anyone know if Behringer has any intention to ever release an updated version of the synth tribe app for macOS? Either Universal or Apple Silicon?

They still only have an Intel version, but Apple is completely dropping support for all Intel apps soon, and they will not be usable on the next OS.

The next mac OS 27 will be released in less than six months around October 2026 and Behringer still only has an Intel version of SynthTribe.

I used to play piano and recently felt like making music again. Along with my Arturia KeyLab MK3 61, I also received a Behringer Phara-O Mini for free. I use an iMac with GarageBand, Analog Lab, and Ableton Live installed. That is the technical background.

This is my first synthesizer, and I have to admit that I am still missing quite a lot of technical knowledge.

I connected the Phara-O Mini to my computer via USB-C and, at least in GarageBand, I could immediately hear sounds when I pressed the “keys” on the Behringer. The sound came from the iMac speakers. However, when I connected headphones to the Phara-O Mini, I could not hear anything, and the audio output still stayed on the iMac. So far, I have not managed to route the output through the synthesizer. Another thing I noticed was that when I turned the knobs while a sound was playing, I could not hear any effect or change in the sound.

Two questions:

1. What should my setup look like in order to use the synthesizer properly and take full advantage of it?
2. Can anyone recommend tutorials, maybe on YouTube, that are truly beginner-friendly and start from scratch?
