Belgaum plot vs Bangalore apartment — what would you do?

I’m confused between two options and would love some unbiased opinions.
Option 1: Buy a plot in Belgaum
- Investment horizon: around 4–5 years
- Lower entry cost compared to a Bangalore apartment
- Mainly looking for capital appreciation
- No rental income
- I could continue renting in Bangalore for now
- The question is whether a plot in Belgaum can realistically appreciate enough in 4–5 years to make this worthwhile
Option 2: Buy an apartment in Bangalore
- This would be primarily for self-use, not as an investment
- Much higher entry cost and likely a substantial EMI
- I’m currently concerned that Bangalore apartment prices have become very expensive and that there could be a correction in the next few years
- Buying now also means committing a large amount of capital to one property
- On the other hand, I would get the benefit of owning my own home instead of paying rent
- How should I view this in the context of AI impact on software jobs?
My dilemma is essentially:
Should I buy the Bangalore apartment for self-use despite the high prices, or buy a relatively affordable plot in Belgaum for 4–5 years and continue renting in Bangalore?
I'm particularly interested in hearing from people who have actually bought property in either Belgaum or Bangalore.
If you were in this situation, what would you choose and why?
Also, am I overestimating the risk of a Bangalore apartment price correction?
