Danish football in Belgrade

Does anyone know a bar/pub in Belgrade showing Danish football tonight? (Very optimistic 😅)
Or a bar/pub that would be able to stream a match from Denmark?

Why Is Volunteering in Serbia Treated Like a Job Interview? When Red Tape Strangles the Spirit of Giving Back

Do you have any insight into why volunteer culture in Serbia lags so far behind that of Western Europe? From what I have heard, recruiting a volunteer in Serbia involves a level of bureaucracy comparable to hiring a contracted employee — even within NGOs such as CRPC and Potent. Have you personally participated in any volunteer projects here? If so, what were your experiences like?

Kalenić Pijaca: A Soulful Piece of Belgrade! You should visit it!

Photography, Serbia, Belgrade, Kalenić Pijaca
February 2026

Today, it is one of Belgrade’s most famous markets - full of fresh produce, vintage details, and constant conversation. When I was taking photos there, people warmly invited me closer to their stalls and were genuinely happy that I was photographing the market! For me, it felt like a small example of Serbian hospitality. And I think I ate the freshest dill and cabbage of my life there!

Kalenić pijaca opened in 1926 and was named after Belgrade benefactor Vlajko Kalenić. During the occupation of Belgrade in 1941–1944, parts of the market were used as small urban vegetable gardens because of food shortages. In 2026, the market may enter a new chapter, as the city is planning its reconstruction and modernization.

Everyone who wants to get a real feel for Serbia - friendly, open, and sociable - should visit Kalenić pijaca and soak up the atmosphere!

Hello all. Next week, I will take my mom and dad to Belgrade for two days vacation. I am looking for a place to introduce them to traditional Serbia breakfast. We will be staying in the city center. Can you give me some recommendations? And if there is no complete set of breakfast, what should I order to have complete traditional breakfast? Thank you all ☺️❤️

Our disappointing experience at Marshal Hotel Garni in Belgrade

We recently stayed at Marshall Hotel Garni in Belgrade and had a very disappointing experience despite its strong online ratings.

We are experienced travelers and don’t complain lightly, but this stay involved repeated unresolved issues and a consistent lack of urgency from staff.

The main issue was a malfunctioning door lock that did not properly secure our room. We reported it multiple times over two days, but there was no real sense of urgency or action. At one point we were told not to worry because there was “security nearby,” which was not acceptable given the situation.

We contacted Expedia to escalate the issue and explore leaving early due to the unresolved safety concern. Expedia reached out to the hotel, but there was no response to us or to them at the time.

When we returned to the hotel around 11 AM, staff were outside, but the lock still had not been addressed. The refund request via Expedia had also not been acknowledged.

During this discussion, the owner’s partner stepped in very aggressively and dismissively, telling us to go upstairs and speak to the owner if we had an issue. The tone and manner of that interaction made the situation significantly worse and extremely uncomfortable.

Only after escalation did the owner personally come to repair the lock.

There were additional issues: a broken shower mount that was “fixed” but failed again the next day, a non-functioning fridge that was later replaced, and visible maintenance problems in the room including peeling paint on the walls and general signs of wear that did not match the hotel’s advertised standard.

Housekeeping also did not follow its stated linen change schedule.

Overall, it wasn’t just the maintenance problems—it was the lack of urgency, communication, and accountability throughout the stay.

Based on our experience, this did not reflect the standard expected from a centrally located hotel with strong online ratings.

Posting this so other travelers can make an informed decision.

Solo in Belgrade for June, tips, techno, friends? (19M)

Hey everyone,

I’ll be spending the whole month of June in Belgrade solo and wanted to ask for recommendations. I’m 19M on a gap year, into exploring cities, good cafés and food, nightlife, music, nature, and meeting interesting people. I am fluent in English, Russian and French.

Would love tips for: techno/electronic music spots, bars or social places where it’s easy to meet people, cool neighborhoods to hang around, local food spots , day trips or nature nearby or anything else underrated tourists usually miss

Also down to meet people for coffee, drinks, walks, or going out.

Really excited to discover Serbia ))

Looking for locals during my Solo-Trip 25.05 - 31.05 in Belgrad (M/F, 20-30)

Hi everyone,

My name is Maxim, I'm a 23-year-old computer science student from southwest Germany. I speak English, German, and almost fluent Russian.

I’ll be doing a solo trip to Belgrade next week (May 25th to May 31st) and I am looking for some local company to explore the city with.
I’m a very active guy with a wide range of interests. I'd love to check out the local nightlife, clubs, and bars, but I'm equally interested in historic places, museums, architecture, and getting out into nature. I definitely wouldn't say no to checking out some local spas and saunas.

Ideally, I'm looking to hang out with people between 20 and 30, but I'm also open to older folks as well.

So, if anyone has some free time next week and wants to show me around your city and share some Serbian culture, I would really appreciate it. Who knows, maybe we can start a cross-national friendship 😄

Cheers, Maxim

PS: If anyone is interested you can DM me here on Reddit

Belgrade for 1 month - Recommendations!

Hi Digital Nomads,

I'm heading to Belgrade, Serbia, for a month and hoping it could become my second home base for the year. I'm really looking forward to immersing myself in the city and connecting with people - especially other entrepreneurs or anyone who's friendly and doesn't take life too seriously.

I'd love any recommendations for co-working spaces, nightlife, or good spots to meet people. Also, is anyone else in the area right now? Would be great to link up!

Does Belgrade have a consensual adult kink community or kink events in the summer?

Is this frowned down upon in the culture?

An innocent question, I am just curious as Barcelona, Spain for instance hosts many events like this?

Thank you. Sorry if offensive!

Pozdrav

Thanks,

Upscale spots for 30-40 year old people looking to enjoy nightlife without PUMPING LOUD music and body to body dancing. Any lounges to meet interesting established adults?

Solo American traveller 🙂 I could absolutely do an underground EDM rave with people in their 20’s and 30’s for maybe Friday night but … I’m also 34(f) and would enjoy a more relaxed, live music, older established upscale crowd.

Any recommendations welcome! Thank you!

Just finished painting "Alexander The Great"

I’ve always been fascinated by the borderline mythical aura surrounding Alexander. For this piece, I wanted to capture that intense, restless energy turning him into a dramatic, winged figure of conquest.

The hardest part was definitely wrapping the wings seamlessly across the sleeves so that the movement of the body actually brings the piece to life. It took hours of layering textile paints to get that high-contrast, almost marble-like armor shine against the fabric.

I really wanted to blur the line between a classic painting and something you can just wear. Would love to hear your thoughts on this interpretation!
