Simple functionality

I am using betterbird and donated, but to be honest: some basic functionality is ridiculously difficult.

Adding attachments.

Forwarding messages,
it is impossible to forward with attachments.
It just doesn't work. I checked the config editor and should keep attachments ... but it still doesn't.

Forwarding while keeping and quoting the original messages.

Also impossible. I know the settings for this is behind manage identities (wtf does this have to do with managing identities.... I have literally no idea) and also I checked in the config editor if the corresponding setting was set on true. And it was , but still it does not quote the previous messages when I push reply.

What is the logic behind making simple rudimentary tasks so incredibly difficult?

I switched to Linux from OSX 3-4 months ago... and e-mail is pretty much the only thing hat I am having difficulties with :(

Can anyone advice / help me ?

How do I stop this "about Betterbird" window from opening?

It doesn't happen every time I open it. Kind of random. Might also be after every update. idk.

Fact is, it's very annoying, when I just want to check my mails, open betterbird and I have to immediately close this pop-up.

Betterbir is always slow to get going, even under torture!

Sorry, it's very unfortunate to pollute the forum with complaints without offering solutions, but I'm a basic user, notoriously stupid: I'm incapable of improving software.

But before the complaints, a word of praise:

I really like Betterbird for its architecture, its security, its many useful options, and its constant updates.

A little less so for its average (!) complexity.

On the other hand, I hate it and can't help but mention it because its slow startup annoys me. It prevents me from using Betterbird exclusively on a daily basis—currently v140.13—even on an Intel i7 Pro K PC, with 64 GB of Corsair DDR5 RAM and solid WD drives: it takes up to a minute to boot up! It's unbearable.

The delay in opening, in some cases, would even be bearable, but many sites these days use the F2A key to log in, sending codes via email:

you can't wait forever—every time—to log in...

What a drag!

If there's a magic solution, please let me know.

For the record, I've already interrogated three AIs: lots of talk, no concrete results...
