r/Billings
Hi,
we’re four guys, and we’ve put together Westminster’s restaurant scene in an app called Vota. The concept is simple: you see two places side by side (for example Famille vs. Kachina Southwestern Grill), you choose the place you’d rather go to, and the ranking updates instantly. The more people vote, the more accurate the list gets over time. There are still a few duplicates here and there, but I’m continuously cleaning up the data.
Here’s the iPhone version, with categories that actually fit Westminster’s food scene:

And here’s the Android version (finally live):

P.S. I’m not from Westminster (I live in Gothenburg). I’m not collecting data, not selling anything, and the app does not use AI-generated content. I’m posting in a few different subreddits because we now support more regions, and I genuinely want honest feedback from people who actually know the area.
Potentially moving from Houston for work
Basically title, but I am hesitant as I've only known Texas weather my whole life. Does anyone have a similar story from a basically 24/7 warm climate? Do you regret it? How did you deal with the vast change in weather / climate?
What is this shirt design supposed to represent?
It looks like a fish on the bottom, but other than that I'm lost
Why are people watering their lawns so much?
Montana is facing a severe drought and I can’t help but notice much of the community continues to water their non-native grass. It’s very upsetting to me and I’m just wondering if this is bothering anyone else?
Gas is so expensive, people have been stealing it again
Need Recommendations on Home Inspectors
My family and I are purchasing our first home. Been a nervous wreck for the past two months. We are intending on putting an offer on a home soon. Our loan requires that we have a home inspection. Trying to get a jump on things and have some companies/individuals in mind. Need someone thorough and reasonably priced but thorough is a primary factor. I appreciate any help!
Billings Positive Only
Please post only positive things to do and experience here in Billings. Even if you’ve had a bad experience somewhere, this isn’t the place to express it.
Wanting to go camping
I’m looking to see if anyone knows of good places somewhere in the mountains? somewhere away from people and towns. close to fishing if possible. Not familiar with eastern MT.
People who work downtown close to the hospitals, do you feel safe, and have you ever had any unsafe encounters?
reddit.comRenting for international students?
Hey Im a Canadian hoping to come to Billings in a few months. I was looking around at some sites and it seems like I need some sort of U.S. issued ID and a social security number in order to proceed with the online application form. Obviously I have neither. I was wondering if anyone has any experience going through this.

Driving Test
Hi guys. I’m moving to Billings this summer and plan to take my knowledge and road test there. I don’t have a car so I’m wondering how will I be able to get a car for road test? Are there any driving lessons or any resources for adults? Thank you all.

Talk to me about hornets/yellow jackets/wasps?
I have a possible job in Billings, and I have this feeling like I'm missing something. We all know what that's like. Overall I'm trending warmish.
However, some many years back I lived through a wasp year from HELL in the Intermountain region. The wasps were out of control. I remember we went boating in June and you could simply swing a flip flop in any direction and hit one of the damn things. I don't think we went again that season. They'd buzz you constantly, dive bomb, chase you unreasonably far if you so much as stepped out of the house. We sprayed nest after nest. It didn't help.
I remember that summer as the summer where you basically didn't see people out and about, at all. You could drive by a playground or popular jogging route and there was no one there at all. Maybe you saw people outside in early morning or late at night. Maybe. You didn't hear people in their backyard after work, I don't think I ever smelled a grill that year. It was practically post apocolyptic. In the fall, one of the schools was absolutely infested, with people pulling wasps out of their hair, and one person getting stung in the eye.
From then on out, I've been really nervous to move somewhere without getting a sense of how bad the yellowjacket/hornet situation is or isn't.
I did some googling, and it sounds like last year was the year from hell? Is that typical? If not, how frequently does a year like that happen?
Please, I want to make smart decisions.
Anyone know where to buy Sapporo beer here in town?
Tried Wall Mart,Albertsons and Circle K with no luck
After I Jazz this Up to Make Him Look Like a Clown, is there a Local Joint that Would Screenprint the Image to a T-Shirt?
I just need one, black tee that isn’t boxy and hard cotton like a tee from the swapmeet. Form-fitting preferably. Yes, it can be done online but I prefer supporting local.
The image will just be turned into clown colors.
Thank you in advance.
Looking for sage and sweet grass?
I am currently to looking for a good spot to obtain some. Thank you in advance
