School Statue Location?

So there used to be a statue in front of Lewis and Clark Middle School. What happened to it? I know that school underwent some construction recently - was the statue displaced for that and just not reset? Or has it been removed?

Anyone have any insight?

Thank you!

Hi,
we’re four guys, and we’ve put together Westminster’s restaurant scene in an app called Vota. The concept is simple: you see two places side by side (for example Famille vs. Kachina Southwestern Grill), you choose the place you’d rather go to, and the ranking updates instantly. The more people vote, the more accurate the list gets over time. There are still a few duplicates here and there, but I’m continuously cleaning up the data.

Here’s the iPhone version, with categories that actually fit Westminster’s food scene:
https://apps.apple.com/app/vota-restaurant-ratings/id6744969212

And here’s the Android version (finally live):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vota.app

P.S. I’m not from Westminster (I live in Gothenburg). I’m not collecting data, not selling anything, and the app does not use AI-generated content. I’m posting in a few different subreddits because we now support more regions, and I genuinely want honest feedback from people who actually know the area.

ISO: Recommendation for a standard women’s haircut? (Budget-friendly / no color)

Hey All! Iam looking for a hairstylist in town that does great women's haircuts. I have a very basic hair routine…no coloring or extensions, no special treatments. I just need a reliable, standalone haircut every few months.
A lot of the salons I'm finding online seem to bundle their cuts with luxury styling packages or have base rates starting around $65+, which is just a bit out of my personal budget for a trim.
Does anyone have a recommendation for an experienced stylist or a great local shop that offers quality, straightforward haircuts at a more traditional price point?
Thanks so much for any leads!

Living downtown?

Moving to Billings for work.
Trying to figure out where to live. I’m used to East Coast /Southern urban life (Philly, Atlanta) , but also used to rural, country living (East coast, Midwest)
Thoughts/opinions welcome.

Help Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter

YVAS posted this yesterday and it would've completely flown under my radar if my mom hadn't sent it, so I wanted to try to get the word out there.

Please read their article but to sum it up from what I understand, the City of Billings is discontinuing their partnership with YVAS and opening their own shelter because YVAS needs more reimbursement due (at least in part) to the meth incident. This means that YVAS will have to turn away lost and stray animals or try to hold them with no reimbursement from the city. They do say that they will still be providing boarding for lost and stray animals through the 4th of July weekend, which I appreciate so much as someone who's had and currently has pets afraid of fireworks.

The shelter is asking the community to contact our council members and the mayor and they include ways to contact them in the article.

Considering the fact that the city thought it was a reasonable idea to burn meth in an animal shelter, I personally don't trust that they would be able to manage a shelter well and I want to do anything I can to help.

Please spread the word and contact officials if you're able! Here is a link to their "ways to give" page if anyone wants to help in a more material way.

Edit: Here's some information on the city's new shelter. They're asking people not to bring stray animals to them for the time being and to instead care for them at home or take them to the other shelters in town.

Problems with Zipply

Anyone else in Billings using zipply and having lots of outages? My wife works from home and this fiber internet seems terribly unreliable. We switched from Spectrum (cable internet) we rarely lost internet but they were the only game in town and raped us on the pricing. Then immediately offered the same service a t 1/3 the cost when they got competition. I struggle to go back to them after feeling like they took advantage of us while they could. Anyone else in this boat?

Passing through

I'm on my way from Oregon to Michigan, but my car broke down and is currently getting its head gaskets replaced. So I'm stuck in a hotel room, bored to death.

I'm under the drinking age, so bars are a no go. Is there any fun activities close to downtown? Looking to kill some time without killing my wallet :)

Is there a substantial increase in police presence around town or is it just me?

It seems like I have seen more police in the last 2-3 days than I usually see in the span of a whole month. Is it some end of the month quota thing or just because we're getting closer to the 4th?
