Hi,
we’re four guys, and we’ve put together Westminster’s restaurant scene in an app called Vota. The concept is simple: you see two places side by side (for example Famille vs. Kachina Southwestern Grill), you choose the place you’d rather go to, and the ranking updates instantly. The more people vote, the more accurate the list gets over time. There are still a few duplicates here and there, but I’m continuously cleaning up the data.

Here’s the iPhone version, with categories that actually fit Westminster’s food scene:
https://apps.apple.com/app/vota-restaurant-ratings/id6744969212

And here’s the Android version (finally live):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vota.app

P.S. I’m not from Westminster (I live in Gothenburg). I’m not collecting data, not selling anything, and the app does not use AI-generated content. I’m posting in a few different subreddits because we now support more regions, and I genuinely want honest feedback from people who actually know the area.

Gyms in Billings with Saunas

My husband and I are moving to Billings in just a week!

I am in search of gyms in the area that have saunas. And yes.. before anyone comes at me, I have done my research on Google but I really enjoy getting personal recommendations from those who use this app.

Tell me everything there is to know!

And if you live in the area and have any other things that are worth sharing that may not be related to the gym I’d love to hear all of it! :))

how strict are Rainbow Property inspections?

Hey everyone, i’m getting my apartment inspected later this week and im pretty nervous. We have heard bad things about rainbow before we got our apartment, but it was close to our jobs and fit our budget so we got the place. we’ve been renting for 8 months now and haven’t had any big issues.

i’m wondering if anyone knows how strict they are? will they nitpick every small thing or do they just walk in and out?

I'm Headlining A Stand Up Comedy Show This Sunday (Jun 21st) At The Monte Carlo

I messaged the mods yesterday to confirm it was okay that I share this.

I am doing a run of pop-up comedy shows in Montana and will be in Billings on Sunday the 21st. I know it's Father's Day and the weekend after Matt Rife (what luck, I'm not even the biggest Matt doing a comedy show in Billings this week).

I'm going to have two local openers, and then i'll be running the hour of material I am working on. I would love it if you all could come out; I'm really excited to be doing this show. If it helps with your decision, i'll attach an old clip and my fancy formal bio below.

Tickets are available here. <--

Old stand up set

Bio:

Matt Banwart was host/founder of Roast Battle Chicago at Zanies for 3 years. Matt had a #1 comedy album on Amazon, iTunes, and SiriusXM. Most notably, he had a mini special filmed by SXSW dropped on Cracked Comedy Club's YouTube, presented by Netflix. He is also the host of the YouTube and Tubi show You Laugh You Leave Live with YouTuber Jimmy Here (1.7M subscribers). Matt is known for his constant comedy writing and quick off-the-cuff moments live. While you might recognize him from TikTok or Instagram, where he has accumulated over 15million views, he has been doing stand-up for 10 years and is funniest seen live.

Flock Cameras

Has anyone attempted or been successful at dispatching any of these f***ers? I looked up the map to see if how many Billings had and it’s way more than I thought there would be.

Is there an all ages music scene in billings?

I'm new to Billings and curious if there is an all ages music scene? I've gone to the pub station to see rev horton heat and Im contemplating checking out the new black flag lineup, but I also like to support the local scene too. My niche is rock and roll. There was a punk show at an old grocery store the other night but I couldn't make it due to scheduling conflicts. So I've gotten a little buzz but how healthy is the rock and roll scene here? I'm also trying to network with some other rock and roll musicians to start a band, but that can be tricky for a sober guy. So best way to meet the scene is to be in the scene and go to shows.

Is Billings tap water safe to drink?

I’ve been using a Brita filter but do I even need to do that? It’s kind of a dumb question but I’ve always wondered if the tapwater is safe to drink here? I understand it depends on where you live and how old the pipes are.

Judge rules deadline has passed for signatures for Yellowstone County data center measure

A Yellowstone County judge denied a Broadview citizen’s effort to continue gathering signatures to place a ban on data centers on the November ballot, likely killing the measure. The judge ruled Tuesday that the deadline to collect signatures had already passed.

When the citizen submitted the ballot measure for approval, she was told the deadline to collect 16,650 signatures was Aug. 12. On Aug. 3, Yellowstone County commissioners announced they believed the deadline to collect signatures had passed on July 13.

The judge ruled that it was "regrettable" that county officials gave the wrong deadline, but he didn't feel the error was enough to overturn the county's decision.

The initiative sought to require a two-thirds approval of voters for all data center developments in Yellowstone County. Quantica is seeking to build a large-scale data center on 5,000 acres about three miles south of Broadview.

Trying to understand the proposed Data Center controversy.

It seems like Yellowstone county officials and it's political machinery are fighting the will of the people at every step over the Broadview data center, and I'm not quite sure why.
Do they think the tax benefits to the county outweigh people's concerns? Or because of the jobs it might bring? I've yet to see anything official saying "We support the center because of X, Y and Z"
Or is it more nefarious? I know Big Time Money is involved here between Northwest Energy and Quantica. Their CEOs certainly stand to benefit. But how does that trickle down to our local officials for them to work so hard to see it happen in spite of citizen opposition? Are there kickbacks involved, bribes, intimidation, influence peddling?
It just seems so off center to me it makes no sense.

Realtor to sell country property

Need a recommendation for a realtor who will help sell a house a few miles outside of town with enough acreage for a few animals, especially horses -- a "ranchette," as they say. Anyone who specializes in that type of thing?
