Drawing birds for the seven heavenly virtues! Day 2: Chastity

Per the title, I’m drawing a bird for each of the seven heavenly virtues. Please comment birds that embody chastity and I will pick the top one to draw.

Yesterday’s winner was the African Gray Parrot, which gives food tokens to other African Gray Parrots under experimental setting. I didn’t know how to draw a food tokens so I just drew some food instead, since if they’ll transfer food tokens in a scientific experiment, it’s pretty reasonable to expect they’ll give each other food in a more natural setting.

Some runners-up for the seven sins chart!

These birds were all second place in their category. Gulls were the runner-up for gluttony, but I’ve omitted them because I’ve made a few gull drawings already.

Surely today is the perfect day for Bald Eagle slander?

But seriously, Bald Eagles are really overrated and really not much better than gulls. And the funniest thing is that “eagle” rhymes practically perfectly with “seagull.”

My art!

Doodle I did during my break. As someone who's had their work stolen before, I empathize with the Red-Tailed Hawk.

Final chart of birds as the seven sins!

Per the title, I’ve been making an alignment chart of birds, where I picked the top comment to draw a bird that embodies each of the seven sins. The second photo includes their names.

Yesterday’s winners were hummingbirds, and they blew the other candidates out of the water. Normally, I’d pick one species, but it was too hard to choose, so here’s the three most common North American hummingbirds: Ruby-throated, Rufous, and Anna’s, all of which can be pretty feisty. Some native flowers that they enjoy are pictured in the background. Clockwise from top left: azalea, fuchsia, thistle, and lupine.

Thank you so much to everyone who’s participated, whether you’ve commented, voted, or simply lurked. This has been really fun to draw, and I’ve been using it as an excuse to improve my details and backgrounds.

If you’re interested, this is available as a t-shirt here! If you want specific things/panels from this chart to be featured separately on a mug, sticker, shirt, etc., feel free to comment it, and if you have any ideas for future series, I’d love to hear them :)

Also, this is definitely not a repost because I definitely didn’t mess up any labels for the birds!

Can anyone help identify this bird?

Drawing birds for the seven deadly sins! Day 7: Wrath

Per the title, I’m drawing a bird for each of the seven deadly sins. Please comment birds that embody wrath and I will pick the top one to draw.

Yesterday’s winner was the Black Vulture. As vultures, they scavenge from already-dead corpses and spend most of their day lazily gliding around on thermals. But what makes Black Vultures particularly lazy is the fact that, since they lack a good sense of smell, they follow Turkey Vultures to find carcasses rather than finding them on their own.

Wrath is going to be interesting, there are a lot of very angry birds!
