BITSAT level vs boards?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently preparing for CBSE boards and not doing anything related to jee as I'm planning to go abroad

BITS CSE is also one of my main options (ofc if i get in lol) . My focus is on boards right now but i also wanna give bits exam but i won't be prepping for it seperately.

And also I just wanna take cs

I’m comfortable with the BITS fees if I get CSE, so finances aren’t really a deciding factor for me.

For those who have gone through BITSAT/boards recently:

- How close is boards level to BITSAT and what other prep should i consider for BITSAT?

- If I’m targeting CSE, what kind of BITSAT score should I aim for to have a comfortable chance I have heard 280 ig for bits goa ?

- Any recommendations resources, mock tests, or preparation strategies?

I currently use SL arora examples and intext questions for physics and ncer for chemistry and ML agarwal for maths

If u have any questions regarding anything that would allow u to make a more informed decision id reply

Partial drop AMA / GMeet?

Hey guys, I've been getting a lot of DMs about partial drops after my recent posts, so thought I'd ask here instead of trying to answer everyone individually.

For context, I'm a successful partial dropper from JNTUH. I joined JNTUH, prepared for BITSAT alongside college, and ended up at BITS Hyderabad MSc Economics this year.

But I want to say this upfront: partial drop is MUCH harder than it looks from the outside. I had also thought I'd just manage college and study 3–4 hours a day on the side. That didn't exactly happen. There were months where I barely studied, and I had to restart my preparation pretty late. I still managed to pull it off, but I wouldn't want people to look at my result and assume that partial drops are easy or that it'll automatically work out if they put in some effort.

There are also a lot of things that are difficult to explain properly over DMs managing college, deciding whether it's actually worth leaving your current college, what happens when preparation goes off track, how much time you realistically have, what I'd do differently, and who should actually consider a partial drop in the first place.

So I'm thinking of doing a GMeet tomorrow evening or this weekend for anyone who's interested. We can have an open discussion and you guys can ask whatever you want instead of me writing 20 different paragraphs in DMs.

If enough people are interested, I'll organise it and post the time/link here.

Would you guys be interested in a GMeet tomorrow evening or weekend? Or would you rather I make a detailed post instead?

If you're interested in the GMeet, just comment interested or something below so I can get an idea of how many people would join.

2027 aspirants gmeet/ any general doubts ?

Difficult dig mentioned one for partial droppers and well to be very honest I have also been getting such dms about
“Bhaiya how do i prep for bitsat”
“Bhaiya is it worth prepping for bitsat rn?”
“Bhaiya X percentile pe drop lu?”
“Bhaiya how difficult is bitsat?”
“Bhaiya prep kiska karu, mains ka ya advanced ka ya bitsat alag se “
“Bhaiya books kaunse karu”
“Bhaiya 11th waste kardi, ab kya karu”
Just to name a few

Even I wasted my entire 11th standard and i largely started studying after july 2025, which is like abhi ka period. Finally i got 99.25 mains mai , 265 bitsat and 10k advanced mai (itna accha nahi hai lekin maine 11th mai 0 padhai ki thi, its largely due to the efforts i made after mid 12th)

So for yall questioning it , yes if I did it yall defo can, yall just need a little bit of proper planning and daily consistent grind to crack it.

I have been telling people iske bare mai dms mai lekin largely it has been scattered.

Abhi to be very honest its a very crucial time for any aspirant , abhi I feel an orientation could be useful

So if you are in a similar spot, then we could have such a gmeet

And I could perhaps make a doubt whatsapp gc jaha mai aur koyi aur ek rhega just so that yall can discuss and i will occasionally solve some of your physics or maths doubts (chem mat puchna), and yall can just send your daily goals and push eaxh other (to be very honest ye khud se nahi hoga toh difficult hi hai)

If yall are interested, I could schedule one

Again, all the best to everyone , and dm me anytime for anything , I'll try my best
Also comment interested or smth so that I can get an idea

Need genuine advice for partial drop

Ik this is a long post but pls take the time to read it :)

I wasn't able to do well in BITSAT s1 and s2. Jee mains also went average. I got into one of the top colleges in hyderabad but I hate it here already. I've never planned on staying in a local college, i did get into vit but my parents didn't send. Regardless, I've decided to take partial drop last month itself and started preparing.

Just to give some insight, I've skipped most of maths for the past 2 years which is why my performance in entrances hasn't been that great. I only know coordinate geometry, vectors 3d, circles conics, stats, matrices, series. Phy and chem are relatively stronger but I feel like I forgot all of it.

Now that I am planning on taking partial drop i can't avoid maths anymore. I'm thinking of doing calculus because I barely know it and master the other chapters which i already know.

Once college started I'm having a tough time managing the double life because the college is pretty far away from home (39kms) and takes a good 5 hrs of travel in total to and fro combined. Many advice to dedicate atleast 4 hrs to partial drop prep and I'm really trying but with coding involved in college too I'm having a tough time managing both. I need to give time to college too or I'll be lagging behind. I'm kind of in a helpless situation.

I've given myself time till October to finish the theory of calculus and then from oct to jan start revising and doing questions and mocks.

Now my worry is im finding myself in a situation where I have to choose between either of the two. Rationally thinking partial drop seems really risky but again a huge part of me does not want to settle in a tier 2 college at best. The crowd, the faculty, the infrastructure all feel so sub par. I'm not sure whether i will be able to crack BITSAT or mains again with the efforts I'm able to put now and I'm scared whether the efforts I'm putting will also go into vain and next year in the efforts of putting my legs in both boats I will j end up drowning. And since I am in a tier 2-2.5 college I need to work extra hard too which seems impossible if I waste away this year too

Jaypee Noida CSE or BITS Goa Environmental

Heyy, I joined bits goa environmental thinking ki aage ki iterations mein msc bio mil hi jayegi worst case par unfortunately mujhe mili nahi toh I am stuck with this

My parents and sister are telling me that this branch doesn't have that much scope and roi as I would be taking loan too, as this is such a new branch, no placement data is availiable too

Mere part se mujhe bas placements ki dikkat hai kyonki mere gharwale usi ke baare mein soch rahe hai aur mereko bhi wahi bolte hai

Will I have scope here later on, ofc they prefer top branches nah at the time of placements and all

Like aur kuch electives ya cs minor mein kuch Acha nikalta hai kya, idk anything, just asked gemini toh wahi se pata chala

Please do help with whatever knowledge you can share, it would be very helpful, I am constantly thinking of this and need to make a decision
