I just can’t do it. I watch the best black cat players and ik for a fact I’m not hitting hooks like that consistently mid dive.

If it was a hitscan ability I could do it but it being a kind of slow projectile makes it hell for me I just can’t use her

The only melee characters I play are Magik and Rogue but with Black Cat I just don't seems to be able perform as well. Is it normal I do not do as much damage as them as her playstyle is different? And how to fight? Do I need to sneak attack supports only or dps when left alone?

Alright so my last couple games i been only using the portal. In situations where I would use the invis to get the flank on the backline without being seen i have been using portal instead. And im gunna be honest its the most fun I've had on this character yet. Going in an out the portal to escape danger, using it to flank from special angles that invis could never do, or having another dive use one along with me.

I mean sure its costly. But it is not bad whatsoever. If go in and do nothing you can exit out that same portal. But to me the most fun part is the awkward angles. I could be standing in a really really weird spot and somehow still get a flank from that position just because of this ability. I could jump off the map, place a portal, and reemerge from underneath them.

Try to not be optimal for several games and only use the portal its mad fun. And once you get good with it, i don't even think it's a bad option. Do you know how fun it is to flank from underneath??? Man I was missing out. I was spamming invis and fish and didn't realize portal was 10x more fun. Using it to dodge ults too. Honestly I could probably dedicate myself to only using it and try to become the best portal black cat but we'll see

Gotten used to the nerfs, but missing this button makes this character miserable to play now. A leaf could fall out the sky and block it, the max range is surprisingly deceptive, and I can't tell you how many times someone just strafed slightly to the left and it whiffs touching their arms. I'm just salty is all; but is it possible to buff yoink without putting BC in ban jail?

Any other diver can just go in immediately after game starts or after they respawn I have to farm up coins before I go in which essentially makes me "afk." I posted a clip here of my team dying before I can farm coins but I think the easy solution is to have ppl look at you whilst still farming coins.

Claw whip+Pursuit is a very reliable burst combo that renders you safe. The time to kill is significantly faster than spamming claw whip I seen. But most importantly you are safe doing it.

Her survival is still top notch but if you know what you are doing. Using the dash to get out safely. Pre farming invis. I frames at the right time. Double jump at the right time. Her survivability is actually still very high. I die the least in the lobby every match. If i die its because i got cocky or inted for picks. Which tells you her survival is still high if im doing that.

Her damage is decent. Like I said before claw whip plus pursuit does a good amount of dmg. Her basics do ok dmg. Her ult is decent imo. It may be more of a "win more" ult tho. Rarely is it the reason we won the team fight but more likely the reason its guaranteed.

I think her negative is uptime. If the tank pops a shield when throw ur yoink, ur uptime is hurt. If someone conveniently dashes the moment you yoink, hurts ur uptime. If you genuinely miss it hurts ur uptime. If you get a no reg it hurts your uptime.

The coin nerf and one dash made her uptime alot slower. Because even if i only have 200 coins, If i had both dashes im going in idc.

But there is a solution. Have ppl focus on you whilst still farming. You should not be stealthy whatsoever imo if u are farming. Do it in front of their faces. This is your way of getting value. Yoinking ppl from a safe spot does nothing for your team as they are just gunna abuse the 6v5 and roll your team. But if you make ppl look at you while you farm, you are diverting attention/dmg simultaneously.

And honestly. Dont always wait for a heavy amount of coins. Her basic attacks farm them pretty good. You basically slash ppl up, they turn to look at you, you can either dash through them or use pursuit. You actually dont need to save it to get out.

Basically if you maintain good uptime shes still plenty viable. Nobody is beating you in a 1v1, you are still hard to kill, dmg is tolerable, still good in brawl, ult can still be used to confirm kills.

Her negative is downtime/uptime whatever you wanna call it. But you can fix that issue somewhat.

So one thing I noticed with Dive characters in this game is that they can easily carry a team if the diver is good. A Strong DD or a strong Spiderman can literally steamroll the other team.

Now with Cat post nerf, she is playable but I feel like your down time is so long before you can do anything and when you do, it isn't particularly high reward.

The truth with Cat this season is that you will only do well if your entire team is winning and when they are losing, you will get em to lose even harder 🤣

The experience on her right now really feels like Vanguards lmao, more often than not you are at the mercy of your teammates😅

Like after her nerfs I’m not saying she can’t dive but she just feels horrid in dive no speed no damage once you start going against competent people she kinda feels useless but the moment I started playing like she’s a brawler I was able to do way better so I’m asking you people what’s the point of dive cat when brawl seems better
