Some of you Black liberals need to hear this…

And before y’all say anything to me, I still vote Blue. But I am a communist to my bones, because of W.E.B DuBois and James Baldwin!

When Samuel L. Jackson Locked the Doors

"In 1969, Samuel L. Jackson joined fellow Morehouse College students in a two-day campus protest that saw members of the college’s board of trustees temporarily held inside an administration building. Among those detained was Martin Luther King Sr., the father of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The students were demanding greater involvement in decisions regarding the college’s curriculum and governance. The standoff ended peacefully, and King Sr. chose not to press charges against Jackson or the other protesters. As a result of the protest, Jackson was suspended from Morehouse for two years before returning to complete his degree in 1972. Following the incident, King Sr. invited Jackson to his home for a conversation that proved life-changing. Noticing Jackson’s strong interest in television and performance, King Sr. encouraged him to explore theater arts, a suggestion that helped set Jackson on the path toward an acting career." - imjustculture
