New art by me: Da lads out for a spin in their new trakk! It's great to see this old classic get the upgrade it deserves in the new Armageddon box. Though for a proper garbage can skorcha you'll need to get da cutters out. More art like this at www.instagram.com/andrewmeijers
Acrylics just kept drying on my brush in no time during last week‘s heat wave, so I went with oil paints instead…
Wasn‘t sure what to do about the wings at first, but I think I‘ve got the colour scheme down now!
For my latest Deathwatch marine mini I have been trying to take the lessons from the John Blanche Fire Dragons project and move forward - and it seems to me that JB’s greatest strength is his storytelling through colour (I’m sure that anyone trained in art could have told me that before, but I never got taught this stuff).
So with the themes of duty and isolation I tried to use a lot of colour hints and cues in the blacks of the marine.
So I have
- amber eyes to resemble a fire that is still burning, but is at the tail end of its heat
- blue reflections to show a cold light from alien skies, to show a hostile environment
- brown underlying the black - to show dust accretion and the laquer of aging armour
- khaki green to show weather and scratching, catching the ambient environment around
- purple around the eyes to remind us of tiredness, exhaustion, even like an addict not able to get their fix.
Obviously on the main pic not a lot of this shows up, but when I applied a saturation of 100% it shows much more what work I’ve done trying to use this symbolic language.
I found it very interesting to see.
Once slated for execution himself, the leper now wields the weight of the axe. “GUILTY, GUILTY, GUILTY. GUILTY, GUILTY, GUILTY. GUILTY, I SAY”
You stand convicted of life, and the sentence is death.
Greenstuff hat pending
Cities of Sigmar Gate Gargant, custom chapter.
To celebrate the launch of Armageddon this week, I thought I'd do a painting of everyone's favourite loyalist space vampires. Whilst Imperial propaganda likes to paint them as beautiful sculpted heros, I imagine the reality of (flawed) gene manipulated, chemically enhanced and hypno indoctrinated child soldiers may be a little different! Hey r/Blanchitsu, I wanted to ask if anybody was in the same boat as me when trying to find people who want to play Inq28 games, Specifically Inquisitor scaled down to 28mm, not Necromunda or other things. I have been advertising a campaign in my local scene for about two weeks and no bites, even my friends are ghosting my attempts to get them to play. What should I do?
I recently heard that my favorite sci-fi artist passed away, as a tribute I tried to use the blanchistu style to paint a old eldar Farseer that was designed by another great artist Jed Goodwin ( I guess)
Hi everyone!
I’m incredibly excited to share Ashen Creed, a project I’ve been working on for months. The core idea is complete modular freedom: you can use the exact same kits to build either a holy, puritan army or a completely corrupted, heretical force.
Here is a quick breakdown of what’s included:
🎁 Want to try it out first? I’ve released a completely free miniature so you can test the quality, print it, and see how it looks on your workbench!
You can download the free mini and check out the full collection here:
I would love to hear your thoughts and feedback on the designs! Which side are you building first? Saints or Heretics?
