“She brings me Mexican food from Sombrero just because”

My girlfriend and I were in Escondido so we drove to Sombrero for dinner for my 40th birthday! Afterwards we stopped by Tom’s childhood home so I could climb the light pole. Loved making the blink pilgrimage for my birthday lol

Used bookstore win!

Saw it on the back counter, it was sealed. I wasn’t sure if it was re-sealed and the autograph was removed. The shopkeeper agreed that if I bought it and opened it in front of him and the auto and guitar pick were missing he would give me a refund. Well I opened it and everything was inside. This edition is currently selling for $187 here in Canada I got this for $71!

Marketplace Find for $20

I owned these all originally, but having moved like 8 or 9 times since Self Titled came out, I have no idea where all my CDs are.

These are in better condition than mine were anyways.

Travis says at 1:19:29 he hates AI and wants to do less overproduction - new rules in his studio are no autotune, little to no editing and no drum samples

THE BLINK-182 LEGO IDEAS PROJECT JUST GOT A MAJOR UPDATE.

THE BLINK-182 LEGO IDEAS PROJECT JUST GOT A MAJOR UPDATE.

After hearing your feedback, I've been working on a few things behind the scenes, and I'm finally ready to show off what's changed:

Here's what's new and what's staying:

MARK & TOM STILL MOVE! — The mechanical system that makes them sway back and forth while playing their instruments remains part of the build.

GLOW-IN-THE-DARK FEATURES — The stage still has its glow-in-the-dark elements for an extra effect when the lights go down.

THE SMART BRICK ALBUM SYSTEM IS HERE TO STAY — the interactive album tiles still work with the Smart Brick, with the selection now focused on the 5 albums featuring Mark, Tom & Travis together.

HERE'S WHAT IS NEW

A BACKSTAGE STAIRCASE — giving the mini-figs an actual way onto the stage and a subtle nod to their most famous song.

HIDDEN ALBUM STORAGE — I also added a semi-hidden storage compartment underneath the stairs to keep the RFID albums when they're not being used.

A STRONGER LIGHTING RIG — redesigned internally to make the structure more stable while keeping the same overall look.

A FREE-STANDING STAGE — I swapped the mechanical axle for a shorter one, allowing the stage to stand independently from the lighting rafters.

CUSTOM Mini fig designs for Mark, TOM, & TRAVIS  — giving each member their own unique look in the build.

If you've supported the project already — THANK YOU. ❤️

I'm incredibly excited to finally show you where the project is now.

What do you think of the updates? 👀

Blink and Green Day movies in the same week? What year is it?

Nothing will beat this 2003 classic though

Looking to get a new guitar soon. Anyone have any experience or feedback on Tom's Starcaster.

I have had my Acoustasonic Player Telecaster for a few years bow and love it. And my Ibanez S for 15 years now, and its still going strong, I play modestly, for my own leisure and as a stress reliever. I just want to get something more meaningful, so im at a dead end street between Tom's Fender Starcaster and the Dave Grohl dg 335, if anyone has one and would like to give feedback I'd really appreciate that. Thanks!

Digitized from VHS 📼 tape

This was the last stop of the North American Tour at Lakewood Fairgrounds in Atlanta, Georgia on August 5, 1997.

My son had brain surgery and wants Mark to know

This is very random; my ten year old son recently had brain surgery to remove an AVM and has been listening to Mark’s audiobook on repeat (he is a big Blink fan) and finding a lot of comfort in Mark’s cancer journey. He wrote something for Mark and we’re wondering if he ever checks this forum?

Edit: This is the original email I wrote and sent to himynameismark, I believe. It was a couple of weeks ago, right before my son got his diagnosis and a week before his surgery. He’s recovering now and doing well but struggling with restrictions to his otherwise active life. Can’t get over how awesome and supportive this community is, thank you.

Hi, Mr. Hoppus. I am not sure if you’ll ever see this message, but it’s 4am on the east coast in Maine, I’m a little delirious, and my ten year old kid is in an MRI machine, in a room I’m not allowed in, and I can’t stop thinking about your book.
I am, I guess, a second wave Blink fan. I was 13 when TOYPAJ came out, and it transported me from pop music into punk, absolutely changing my life forever. And saving it, too, I think. Fast forward to now, and my ten year old son is likely your biggest fan. We saw your performance in NH last September - both of our first Blink shows. He was happy you played Josie, and I Online Songs and Roller Coaster.
The winter before last, I listened to your audiobook. I listened to it over the course of an entire day. I decided that it was mostly appropriate enough for Charlie and let him listen after I did.
He’s probably listened to that book at least eight times all the way through. He also owns a physical copy. Despite the fact that I am a librarian, he doesn’t like reading but boy, does he love Fahrenheit 182. We both do.
Today, Charlie had a seizure. This has never happened before. My life changed in seconds, maybe forever. They found a little bit of bleeding in the CT scan, so we came to Portland, Maine so that experts could monitor him all night and now, he’s in an MRI, alone. The tech asked if he wanted music and he said Blink, of course. I didn’t get to hear what album he decided on, but I’m going to guess either Dude Ranch or Enema. Maybe the untitled, because he knows that anyone unfamiliar with Blink needs to hear Feeling This.
He’s so calm, throughout this. Way more chill than my husband and I are on the inside. It could be a mass or growth, it could be something to do with his veins and arteries, it could just be a bump that didn’t get dealt with sooner. I don’t know yet. I’m in an empty waiting room, writing an email to Mark Hoppus.
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart, not only as a veteran fan, but as a mom. I am fully convinced that Charlie is as calm and prepared for this as he is because of your cancer journey he’s read about and listened to so many times. Charlie is a drummer and guitarist, a skateboarder, and a hockey player. He’s a great friend and a very happy, wild kid. I really hope that he gets to keep being those things. Right now feels like one in a million. I know that it’s one in a million that you will ever see this, too, but hey.
Thank you. I can’t thank you enough for giving my baby the confidence to get through this first part of whatever journey we might be going down.

Also, you might appreciate that while reading your book in class, his teacher asked him to read part of it to her to see if he comprehended it. It was the part about the song Who’s Gonna Shave Your Back Tonight. I guess it could have been worse.

Thank you,
Mackenzie and Charlie Richard

Can we put this to bed?

There doesn’t seem to be a week that goes by where someone doesn’t say that blink played fast on the Untitled tour because they ‘hated each others’ guts’. I’ve been a fan of the band since 2002, and can honestly say I’ve NEVER read anything by the band themselves that remotely suggests they wanted to just play quickly and get off the stage. Mark has said tensions in the band did not impact live shows (obviously discounting Dublin). I think - for Tom especially - following Boxcar it was important to present blink as a band with edge, raw, punk at heart. If you watch their performances at this time, they’re a tight live band - the transitions, the improvisation. They chose to play quickly not because they were sloppy or hated each other, or because they couldn’t keep time. It was a stylistic choice.

If anyone has any evidence to the contrary - actual quotes from the band - can we share them. Otherwise, can we put this myth to bed, as it discredits what is arguably the peak of their live career.
