BR Quartet : Premium Box Costumes code question.

Hello !
So I finally got my Premium Box for Quartet which I’m very happy, I have the digital Switch 2 Edition already, and I wanted to use the costumes code inside the Premium Box but it seems I can’t redeem it (region problem).

Is it possible to redeem it changing my EShop to Japan for the digital Switch 2 game that I bought for example ?

Or the code is stuck to be redeem for the Switch 1 Japan version of the game that came with the Premium Box ?

Thanks !

Blue Reflection Quartet trophy Bearer of Memories

I'm working my way thru the trophies as I play Quartet, I did every quest in the first game and beat the endboss, but the gold "Bearer of Memories" trophy never popped, is it bugged? Is it part of one of the other games? Answers from the inhuman google overlords say it is tied completely to the first game, but there's no human posting anywhere to this effect. It's so weird that they order the trophies to have the last trophy in each game at the top of the set instead of in expected-collection order.

Question about Second Light Quartet version

If anyone has played the original Blue Reflection: Second Light, have you noticed that the grass/seaweed is missing in Quartet in these areas?

  • Shiho's Heartscape Areas 1 & 2 — seaweed missing
  • Hinako's Heartscape Area 3 — grass missing
  • Rena's Heartscape Area 1 — grass missing

I played the original when it was released on PS4, and the grass/seaweed was present in those areas. I played on the PS5, so I am also curious whether it is on the other console versions as well.

Any good challenge runs or tips to make the game harder?

Gonna be replaying BR1 soon once my copy of Quartet arrives. I remember when i first playred the game, it got way too easy towards the middle till the end (i was playing on hard too). Are there any challenge runs i could or things i could modify about my playstyle to make the experience a little bit more challenging?

This goes for BR Tie too if possible since im probably gonna replay it back to back with BR1, thanks in advance!

Is the anime worth the watch before or after playing ray? Or should I skip watching?

I was wondering since I was looking to buy blue reflection qaurtet.

Also does anyone know if it's better for steam laptop, switch 1, or 2? I was planning on getting 2.

This whole sequence was wonderful, damn

The relationship between Rena and Yuki was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen in a GUST game, no idea why they rarely if ever commit to relationships like this.

Though I feel very bitter about the state of Quartet, this was my first time playing Second Light and upon finishing it.... This game was great, really makes me wish this series had a brighter future.

Is It Worth It at Full Price?

Edit: Thanks for the responses everyone most of them were really helpful. I have decided that getting Quartet for full price is not worth it. Since I already own Second Light, if I pay for Quartet I'm only gaining 1 "full" game and 2 others that you could easily consider dlc. To everyone who said it was worth it, I don't doubt you, you are probably a big fan and really love the games. I haven't really dug deep enough. There was one comment complaining about the censorship and the deleted their comment because of the down votes. I understand both sides to that issue but it doesn't really matter to me. I don't want the game because of shower or bath scenes. If I'm uncomfortable with them I could just turn away. Thanks again.

Over the past several years I have thought about playing this series. When it would go on sale on PS4 I'd research all that I could without spoiling too much. Eventually I learn about the first game being rushed and the second game is the better choice. I eventually bought Second Light on PS4. I played about 6 hours and stopped mainly due to other things going on in my life. I heard about Quartet and I was a bit iffy with it. I already have Second Light and I could wait for the first game to go on sale again. But I believe they will never let the original games on PS4 to go on sale again.

So Here is the question: Is the game worth the $50 price tag if I already own Second Light and have played for 6 hours? Or Should I wait for about 3+ months for it to go on sale?

I know a lot of people will probably just say it's worth it and move on but I'd like some more information.

My thoughts on Quartet. (Spoilers)

So. This goes for both the original game and Second Light. Before going into the individual games. Gust is known in the Atelier game series for adding the Season Pass and DLCs to their package deals / DX versions of the game. They do not give the same love and service for Blue Reflection. That said.

Blue Reflection (Game #1), always wanted to play it, but didn't have a system it was on to do so. So was happy to get it here. Learned that it's a heavily censored version, which I'm glad about. But disliked having 0 OGDLC in it.

Still a heartwarming, cute, and well put together story. Definitely a game worth playing.

Ray: Not much to say. The Anime is better and more coherent, and adds not a lot but some worth / context to Second Light. A decent, semi-worthy addition to Quartet.

Sun: ALL! THE! FKING! HATE! Just all of it. Where do I even fking start on this utter train wreck? The rest of the series follows cute girls, doing social bonding and magic girl things. This has a cheap, cardboard, adds nothing to the story, cookie cutter, self insert DMPC mtherfker common in trash Power - Sxx fantasy, jerk off, harem manga. Strike 1.

Outside of battle. The character dialog was boring and didn't really do anything to draw me into the narrative. Strike 2 ... although it is "fair that a phone game to have 5h17 narrative and dialog."

Strike 3 is them taking a Dirty Sanchez all over the face of Canon Lore. In Ray and Second Light. Everyone knew Uta was a psycho bish (in this part of the timeline), and no one knowing her after the events of Ray was ... wrong but I could semi-stand it. But then they brought in Ao. Like wtf?

To those who haven't played the game yet. No massive spoilers, but it's 1000% impossible for her to show up in a Canon Game set before Second Light. The second she showed up. This game stopped being Cannon by any stretch of the imagination.

It became a 5h177y Gary Sue Fan Fic.

So the lie Gust gave on "Ray and Sun showing what happens between both game #1 and Second Light" becomes an outright lie. Fk Sun.

Second Light: If you have the Second Light game and the DLC, this entry isn't worth playing. Sure the graphics are better. But the dozens of cute outfits, the massive Quality of Life Improvements, and the fun (albeit challenging) special dungeons aren't included. So the Quality of Life is worse, the grind heavy death march to make things has nothing to lessen the burden, and it's missing too much.

But ... if you never had the Season Pass / DLC purchase of Second Light. Then it does add (non-datable, non-playable) characters. And the graphics are much better. By far. (In the original second light, they didn't know how to work shaders, deal with specularity, or lighting glare.)

Played the first dungeon before moving to my OG Copy of Second Light. And the graphics are stunning. And Ao is like 6x more adorable af looking.

But the OG game with DLC just has too much to lose without them.

---------

All in all:

First and last game worth having for a bundled price. Especially if you don't own the originals.

Ray adds a little back story hinted at in Second Light, but the Anime is better.

Sun is utter, fking garbage that ignores Canon Lore, has poor writing, and is a waste of your game time if you're interested in Canon. Especially since if you haven't played Second Light, you'll be left confused on how much is completely contrary to Second Light Lore (Second Light came out first), and how the events in Sun couldn't have happened in Canon Continuity.
