'Written by a girl' as an excuse to hijack my work

This is the third rewrite of my original script 'Diary'. I'm posting the full thing because it is already compromised. I was collaborating with this acting student for free and he kept giving vague feedbacks and had zero creative input. 'It's not deep enough, not poetic enough, not long enough'. I asked him multiple times to point out exactly what he feels is off and why but he lacked practical directions and kept saying 'make it better.' I made it clear that it is my work and he can't manipulate it when he gets the final version but that's exactly what he did. Added his own scene and started making corrections in my story. Then said he was 'co-writing' it and can make changes. Even went as far as to blatantly say 'the entire plot was my idea'. It was obvious at this point what he was trying to do. Never be a part of 'trust me' collaborations guys. Anyways, I'd appreciate feedback if you read it.

Writing a grounded Bangalore-based short film (“EXTRA SEV”) looking to connect with indie filmmakers/collaborators

Hey everyone,

I’m currently halfway through writing a short film called EXTRA SEV and wanted to put this out here to connect with people who might genuinely align with its tone and world.

It’s a grounded, atmospheric relationship drama set around a tiny roadside food cart in Bangalore.

The story follows a Maharashtrian graphic designer addicted to extra-spicy misal pav and an Indori girl preparing to leave Bangalore for a new opportunity, who slowly grow emotionally close through late-night food rituals, silences, and the small ways they begin remembering each other’s orders.

It’s less about dramatic romance and more about:

  • temporary connections in migrant cities

  • loneliness hidden inside routines

  • emotional care through tiny habits

and how sometimes love quietly shows up in the way someone remembers exactly how you like your plate served

Tonally somewhere around: The Lunchbox / Little Things / Before Sunrise kind of emotional realism.

Very rooted in: rainy Bangalore nights, steaming chai, misal vs poha arguments, exhausted office crowds, quiet post-work conversations, and the strange intimacy of food places that slowly start feeling like home.

Currently looking to connect with:

  • indie filmmakers

  • cinematographers

  • actors

  • sound designers

  • editors

-co-writers

or honestly anyone interested in restrained slice-of-life storytelling

Especially people who prefer naturalistic performances and emotionally observed storytelling over overly dramatic “cinematic” treatment.

Not rushing into pitching this commercially right now. Still developing the screenplay carefully and figuring out the right creative collaborators first.

Also open to:

script feedback

table reads

creative discussions

or even just connecting with people who enjoy this kind of cinema

Based in Bangalore, so local collaborators would be amazing.

If this resonates with you, feel free to DM and I can share the synopsis/sample scenes.

Thanks :)

Need help finding horror movies.

Hello guys,

I am currently writing a horror film (spec) . Can anyone please suggest me any horror film which has open world?

Like characters are not in a haunted house, not in a haunted jungle, haunted hotel, etc?

They are not captive in a place with the ghost. They can go office. Home. Anywhere!

Also, my film genre is horror/mystery. So can anyone please suggest few movies where there is mystery also that is revealed dramatically.

Thanks in advance!

Can the Pitch deck of a webseries be 4 episode long?

I am new in the area of screenwriting and pitching and this is going to be my first pitch deck. The first draft I have prepared is looking perfect and crisp to me, however the draft is only 4 episode long. Obviously the length of each episode will increase massively when the synopsis will be turned into a full length screenplay. But my question is, can I keep that 4 episode format for the pitch deck? Or alter it to 6 to 8-episode format?
