Bouvier channeling her inner Toto
Too big to fit in the basket like Toto, but she’s still the best!
What breeders have high drive Bouviers?
Hello everyone!
I am looking for a high drive bouvier and it seems like there is only one working line breeder in the US I could find (Virginia Beach).
Is it possible to find a showline with enough drives to train obedience at an IGP (Schutzhund) level? Someone suggested Sandi Lyon since her dogs win performance competitions as well as herding and show.
Anyone with 1st hand knowledge of her dogs ability to work and not just good looks? High drives? Defense drive is welcome as long as they have solid nerves. Or is getting a showline expecting higher drives a lost cause these days and stick to working lines?
🐾 Meet Ravyn — A Gentle, Loyal Girl Looking for Her New Temporary Home (Georgia)
Ravyn is a 7-year-old, 106-lb sweetheart looking for a loving, stable home where she can truly be part of the family. She is crate trained, calm, and incredibly intuitive—she seems to pick up on the emotions and energy of the people around her and has a naturally comforting presence.
She’s an easygoing girl who loves being near her person, relaxing at home, and enjoying a peaceful routine. At 7 years old, she’s past the puppy chaos and has the wonderful qualities that come with a mature dog: she knows how to settle down, appreciates consistency, and has a big heart.
Ravyn would do best as the only dog in the home and with someone who understands large breeds and is committed to giving her the patience, structure, and love she deserves. She is not spayed, so her temporary family must be comfortable with that and willing to discuss spaying with their veterinarian.
I’m looking for a serious, loving adopter—not an impulse decision. This is an incredibly difficult situation, and my priority is finding Ravyn a safe home where she will be loved and cared for until I’m able to give her the life she deserves. If you think she is a good fit for your family, please message me with a little information about yourself, your home, and any other pets you have. ❤️🐾
Looking for Midwest breeder recommendations (stable temperament, solid health focus)
Hi everyone! I was recently added to the community and am starting my search for a Bouvier puppy (aiming for Spring 2027).
I live in the Chicagoland area, but I am willing to travel throughout the Midwest for a reputable breeder who prioritizes clean health lines and predictable, steady temperaments.
This will be our family’s first large working breed, so our top priority is a calm, clear-headed dog with a solid indoor "off-switch." We love the natural presence, size, and protective instincts of the breed, but we want to make sure we partner with a breeder whose lines lean more toward stable family companions rather than high-drive working lines.
If you have personal experience with quality Midwest breeders—or know of lines that fit this description—I’d appreciate your recommendations or any advice as we start reaching out!
Thanks in advance!
