B&W Px8S2 with Sennheiser BTD 600 dongle

I recently bought the Sennheiser BTD 600 dongle to use with my Px8 S2’s.
I play through an iPhone and I can’t really make out an improvement in sound. Music just sounds louder, almost harsher, than without the dongle. Should I be hearing an improvement in sound?!

New cans

Coming from iems only and recently Pi6 (which i love) i decided to pull the trigger on a pair of used Px8. Theyre feel brand new. Extremely impressed by how well made they are. This will be great im sure.

Great advertising ⭐️ award for the team!

Listen and you’ll “see” is so true… The number one comment from any friend I let listen to my Px8 S2 is “WOW I can actually hear all the instruments!”
Best headphones 🎧 I have ever owned.

Px8 S2 might not be the best for glasses wearers

So I’ve been comparing the Px8 S2 with the Px7 S3 for the last week or so trying to decide which to keep and I couldn’t get over why I vastly preferred the sound from the Px7 S3. I had my friend compare them with me and he vastly preferred the Px8 S2. It was no contest for him. So I did more blind testing after he left and I agreed. What initially felt like sharp highs now felt smoothed out while now the Px7 S3 started to sound fatiguing to me and I couldn’t get over that switch.

I continued listening to them for the next couple hours blind testing and landed on the Px8 S2 consistently and I had no idea why that sudden shift happened. Sure they have less low end but an EQ fixed that. Then I took out my contacts, put on my glasses, then continued listening and my opinions reverted.

I then realized the cups didn’t have a perfect seal. Turning on ANC seemed to fix the sound errors back to what it felt like before putting on my glasses. Something that I haven’t used much if at all and an issue I have not had with the materials from the Px7 S3. Turns out, the loose seal made the treble vastly sharper and the low end more anemic while not having ANC on. Just figured I’d share that experience for anyone else that might have encountered something similar. And, for what it’s worth, I have thick glasses frames. So that could vastly impact the experience.

That being said, the Px7 S3 are still incredible. I’m just leaning towards the Px8 S2 now after realizing this.

Pi8 are incredibly impressive

Just received my pi8s, coming from mtw4s these feel like a decent step up. I didn't think it was possible for earbuds to sound this good. The px8 s2s are still noticeably better but these come surprisingly close

What impressed me most is just how far b&w have come in the Bluetooth space, I have the px7 s2, px8, px8 s2 and now the pi8s - there's a notable improvement over each generation of the over ears

Interestingly the Retransmission seems to give some mild improvements to sound quality, likely because I'm using a Samsung so limited on codecs, will do some more a/b the see if it's just placebo

Not a huge audiophile but also have the hd660 s2 driven by fiio and some freebuds 4 pro for calls and some old xm3s. Not sure I'd go away from b&w, I was tempted by the gemini 2s but after reading a few warranty horror stories i didn't want to deal with poor service and just stuck with b&w - not disappointed

Really keen to get some 804 d5s at some point in the future to hear what b&w are really capable of

Brown is Beautiful

I just joined the club, and they had the colour I wanted (Warm Stone).
Loving the feel, fit and the case.

I’m now perusing through other posts to get the best audio setup for me.

The encouragement and responses I’m seeing in this sub is wonderful.

A real beaut

I've mostly done black headphones, which are gorgeous, but the Midnight Blue PX8S2 caught my eye.

Where to sell my Px7 S3?

Located in the US, and willing to sell mine... It was worn once, but headphones are not for me. Comes with carrying case and original cables. I have sufficient transaction history on r/watchexchange , and facebook marketplace. Message me if interested!

Buyer be ware!

There is a seller on EBay selling all different Bowers and Wilkins headphones that don’t have ear pads. They are supposed to be fully functional and tested. They are starting the auctions at a very low price. I received a pair today that had no sound on left side, and right side sounded terrible. Definitely a scam. Mine are on there way back for a refund under not as described. I’m making this post because I see they are selling a very large amount of them. Be safe!

Where can I try B&W Wireless Headphones in India?

I was looking to try out the PX7 S3 and the PX8 S2 in the store. However, I couldn't find any store where I can go and try out the headphones before buying.

Only option I found was to buy the headphones online and that's it. There is also No return policy.

So does anyone know any stores where I can try out the headphones?

Px8 vs HBD 630 vs Momentum 5

Hey! I wanna know how the Px8 compare to the listed Sennheiser headphones. Comfort is the most important to me and I found that the Sennheiser Momentum 4’s ear cups are not shallow/small for me. My ear touches the inside of the ear cup which gets uncomfortable after a while. I heard that the listed 3 headphones have a roomier a feel. Are the Px8 roomier than the Sennheiser?
Right now, the Px8 are on sale for 380$ which puts them below both listed Sennheiser headphones.

Any input is welcome!
Thanks!

pi8 update 5

Where is the bass? I don't understand what's the point of making the already weaker bass weaker? However the new update makes the Bluetooth connection more stable and quick and better call quality but the bass is almost invisible and the EQ less efficient to the manual changes. My other issues still remain the same, battery case almost invisible in the app, wireless charging almost never up to 90% and general drain battery.

I built a free native macOS controller for B&W headphones

I own a Px7 S3 and got tired of reaching for the phone app whenever I wanted to change something, so I built HeadBridge.

It lives in the macOS menu bar and deliberately looks like the native Sound panel. On my Px7 S3 it controls ANC / pass-through / off, five-band EQ, True Immersion, wear detection and sensitivity, standby time, the quick-action button, and voice prompts. It also shows battery history and can restore my preferred settings after a phone changes them.

This is not meant to pretend that unofficial headphone tools never existed. I wanted one free, open-source app that can support B&W, Sony, and future community providers in the same UI.

Px7 S3 is the only B&W model I can personally test, so other recent PX/PI models are marked experimental rather than supported. Reports and hardware-tested PRs are welcome.

It is an early beta, MIT licensed, with no account or analytics. The GitHub build is self-signed rather than Apple-notarized, and the README explains the installer and Gatekeeper behavior before the download command.

GitHub: https://github.com/herenickname/HeadBridge

I would love feedback from other B&W owners. Please include the exact model and which controls worked or did not work.

After 8 months with PX8S2 I am back to Beoplay H100

I switched back to H100 because I found them to sound better than PX8S2. H100 has better bass, bigger and more detailed, relaxed sound.

PX8S2 sounds artificial boosted in middle highs, weaker bass and they have a small soundstage (like earbuds). Also H100 beat PX in anc and they nicely cut the wind noise outside
