New to BG, no car. Is public transit worth it, or should I use Uber? Also considering an e-Bike/Scooter (and looking for dog-friendly spots!)

Hi everyone,

I recently moved to Bowling Green and I don't have a car yet.

I noticed there is a bus system here, but the wait times between buses seem way too long.

For those who have actually taken the bus here, how is it?

Would you recommend it, or should I just rely on Uber or Lyft to get around?

Since public transit seems limited, I'm also thinking about buying an e-bike or a small 3-wheel scooter.

Do you think Bowling Green is safe and convenient enough to get around on one of those?

Once I figure out transportation, I’d love to take my dog to some fun, dog-friendly spots.

Any recommendations for great parks or cafes we can visit together would be awesome.

Thank you so much for your help!

Guy walking with flag

What’s up with the guy walking around town with an Israel flag? Like what is he doing? I see him almost every day around town.

Used Cars

Anybody on here have a recommendation for a reputable used car lot? Not one of the dealerships, I mean one of the random little ones all around town. Need a new-to-me reliable car that isn’t gonna be an outrageous amount. Was wondering if anyone here had any experience with purchasing vehicles like that. Thanks!

Trying Not to Become Feral

Hey! I’m fairly new to Bowling Green and trying to build my social life a bit. I’m in my late 30s and into books, board games, coffee, spicy food, puzzles, animals, and the outdoors.

Currently navigating a divorce and realizing I need actual adult friends and reasons to leave the house.

Looking for recommendations for good places to meet people, local groups/classes, or honestly just other humans who also need more friends. I’m not religious, I do have a potty mouth, and I deeply appreciate dark humor. Let me know if you want to hang out!

Organized group

Is anyone paying attention to the fucked up shit that’s happening in the government. Like these AI surveillance centers that will use up huge amounts of fresh water, the coming food shortage, and our government being full of pedophiles? I’m trying to find a group of people who want to organize and change things before it gets too bad. I’ve been training a lot to be fit enough to protect the country but, I’m only one person.

Moving FL->BG

Good evening, I’m looking to make the move from Central FL (major metro city) and moving to BG. Any previous Floridians or Locals here that care to chime in on moving to BG? How do y’all feel about local healthcare compared to the big city hospital we have here in Florida ? How is the job market? I’ve been a good amount of times and have stayed just down the road in Franklin with a friend who’s been there his whole life. Thoroughly enjoy the area compared to the craziness of central Florida. My wife’s a local 911 dispatcher so would likely look to applying for the local BGPD and I’m also working for our local state LEO agency in a civilian position doing office work.

Looking for a good, female Gyno

I need help finding a good, female gynecologist that accepts medicaid. I 24f have never been to a gynecologist before, yeah I know I'm late dont judge me. In school my periods were pretty regular but they haven't been since. I've gone 6-8 months without a period multiple times. I need to find a doctor who is patient, and willing to listen when I express my concerns. I have a few chronic illnesses that could affect that in different ways and I need someone who's not going to diagnose me with "generalized womans disease". Any recommendations would be highly appreciated, and thank you in advance.

What’s the pickleball situation in BG? - from a person who’s moving to BG in 2 months!

Hi all!

I’m moving from NJ/NY to Bowling Green and I’m curious about how the pickleball scene is. I see online there is a club but the membership cost is quite steep considering I’m a student. Are there any alternatives?

Looking for other Too Funny Martha Davis fans

About 25 years ago I was given the life gift of being shown a few episodes of 2 Funny Martha Davis. I was told it was produced at the Bowling Green cable access facilites in the 90s. I've since lost the vhs tape (by foolishly lending it out) and I need a fix. As someone from another state I am interested in the lore and the regional exposure Martha may or may not have had. Any info would be a hoot. Take a shower. Click.

We need FABRIC STORE

We need a Fabric Store in Bowling Green. We need more option than Hobby Lobby and the small section at Walmart!
Yes, there are plenty of options online, but you can’t SEE and FEEL the fabrics

Nick G. NPG Properties

I normally stay quiet, but I’m speaking up because people deserve to know who they’re renting from also who they believe is their friend and how this church loving man is, my experience with this landlord was completely unprofessional and manipulative from the beginning. Promises were made to me regarding housing arrangements and rent in exchange for “favors” and keeping things private. Once boundaries were set and I stopped entertaining inappropriate behavior, the threats of eviction, harassment, and intimidation started almost immediately. no tenant should ever feel pressured, uncomfortable, or unsafe in their own home. A landlord’s job is to provide housing professionally not blur lines, make inappropriate advances, and then weaponize housing when they stopped getting there way

my records, messages, and proof of our conversations, and if false claims are made against me or retaliatory eviction actions continue, I am fully prepared to defend myself with documentation.

This man had a wife still had a wife and does these things i just do not understand how anyone could ever be so heartless and self centered. Im just going to leave this here leave me alone because i done my p a rt and no eviction action iss happening.

Everything you do will always come to light if your doing things in the dark.
